I watched the whole season in one sitting. No sleep that night ! This was such a smooth series. Absolutely nothing like the movie. Started off with the same premise and then went left real quick. The ending made me believe that this was just a one off series and i’ll admit I cried. Hearing there is a season 2 has admittedly got me excited. 🤗

@@JasonKnight-007I hate to break it to you, but it's 2024 and people love new shows out there. Dexter came out many years ago, before streaming was even a thing. Plus not everybody is into a psycho serial killer and all that blood & gore.

Unfortunately, it won't be Donald and Maya anymore. If I'm not mistaken, the showrunners/producers plan/intend to cast different actors to play Mr. and Mrs. Smith each season.

100% agree, The way he spoke about describing a 'christmas present' implying the greed of Jimmy not only spoiling the ending, but forcing the two to speak out about a cliff hanger. That's messed up of Jimmy. Doesn't seem like him to be scummy like that. I feel bad for Donald and Maya.

This was a fabulous show- it went in an almost entirely different direction than the film. Great soundtrack, great narrative arc, great acting, great chemistry between the leads, great sets- and hilarious at times. Highly recommended.

I was in TEARS during the finale. Such an incredible and powerful season of television. The tone was remarkable, and unmatched. The humor, drama, emotion. all 10/10. I feel like this show was under the radar, but this deserves so many emmy nominations, especially for the performance of these two. that episode 6 campfire scene was something else.

My suspicion is that season 2 is going to start with a new pair of Smiths, and it's going to seem like a totally separate story, then Donald and Maya are going to show up right at the end of the first episode.

I like this reboot, they create so many symbolism of how messy and complicated a relationship could be in form of spy plot, like, WTF? Those are so awesome, especially with the hostage episode where the entire plot was a symbolism of how hard it is to deal with children and about good communication, so good.

The move was "fun" but the series is intense. I love it! If they come back for season 2, great! If their characters are killed and they are Hi-Hi replaces them w/ a new Smith "family" that only proves that the show runner is that confident in the story. Look at the Fargo series for example.

I was unsure about watching the show but was totally converted by the end. Really well done. The fact that I love these two didn't hurt but still the writing and interplay of Glover and Erskine made the show. It could maybe work w/o them but it would be awesome if they came back in season 2.

It's really hard for to get into shows these days. Idk really what it is, but I mainly stick to RU-vid. But what initially drove me to this show, is that I'm basically a fan of everything Donald does. That dude is just amazing talented and always delivers a great product. But after watching the show I also fell in love with Maya too and just how amazing their chemistry was. Definitely didn't expect me of all people, to each a full season in one day. Because I haven't done that in years, so that says a lot about how great the show is.

I'm really happy that the initial rumors about the cast change may have been false. I've recommended this show (and rewatched it) with two other people and we were all disappointed about the rumor. The chemistry, humor, and seriousness of Danny and Maya's character relationship is what made Season 1. I just didn't see how I could watch Season 2 without them.
