Apt215 Melissa Brown Dude, some of the funniest people are also the most politically poignant. You can make tough political statements while cracking jokes. I'm just saying Childish Gambino and Donald Glover have really different personalities and it's just nice to see people smile a little more
I recognize that look in his eyes and the look on his face. It is that of one who has been blessed with the curse of knowledge but surrounded by people who are willfully ignorant. He knows that if he actually reveals what he knows, he will be a downer and yet he cannot ignore what he knows to go back to when he was blissfully ignorant. He is walking that thin line between sanity and insanity and that is why his is brilliant. Some say knowledge is power but omit that part that also says "Knowledge is Pain ." God bless you Donald Glover, for all the positive work you are doing and may he keep you safe to produce more and educate people around the globe.
I admire Donald Glover so much for the fact that he's so willing to address his own battles with depression and showing people that being successful can't change mental illness. He's a very brave and profound artist and we still have so much to see from him.
If you're serious, then you're no different than Trump voters. Everyone slams Trump for being a celebrity who ran for office, but now people want other celebs to run for office. Like Glover, the Rock, Oprah, etc.
I hope he never says anything about "This is America" That video was thought provoking and every person will view it differently. Still can't believe this is the same dude that did derrick comedy
Still I Rise4485 if I was a mindless social media millennial idiot I’d prolly think he was cool too. Sadly I have a brain so... I think he is full of crap.
Why he interviewing Donald Glover about Gambino's video?? Because he's black?! This Lando nerd don't know anything about rap music. Invite Gambino to speak for himself. This is racist.
bzrwon they used to hate on him... and now they love him, I am not saying I’m mad cause if that cause I’m actually happy that he’s being recognized I always thought he should of been recognized
Stacey Sarmiento his show Atlanta season 2 is off the chain and doing this video and song that he did soar his career to a higher level it all took off in just a matter of time
Gambino reminds me of the guy at the end of 15 million merits from black mirror. The conversation is all about how amazingly talented the guy is, which he is, his message isn’t being discussed at all.
Sellout? What do you want from him? Your life is not defined by where you come from, but where you are going, work hard for success and dont try to bring other people down because they moved on.
A talented musician, singer, stand-up comedian and somewhat of an actor, I believe... He sure is. I don't like the term "renaissance man", but Donald has many talents, some already peaking a very high level.
Bloodymushroom "renaissance" Belive me This is the beginning of the second revolution. No different than then! With no savagery because we know better. Music, art, et cetera. The biggest difference is, is the fredoom of "expression 'less restricted'" and then the technology makes is easy to reached home! Which is great. And I mean that to all mankind. There is no gray area. We are all tired! We just refused of acknowledging it.
I hope he's just trying to let the video just speak for it's self, which I feel like that's exactly what he's doing. I hope he's not just trying to avoid acknowledging it all together. Don't hate, remember, this is America, I have trust issues with celebrities. Lol But that is truly one of my favorite videos I've ever seen.
Hunter Todd he's letting it speak for itself. You don't create something that bold and fearless only to cower afterwards. If I were him ad someone asked me what the video meant I would just reply by saying "what did it mean to you?", you know? The moment he defines its meaning it stops being thought provoking and loses the quality that makes art so special. Imagine if DaVinci had left a note telling us what Mona Lisa was thinking when he painted the portrait-
Nana mbaye just because his wife isn’t black doesn’t mean he doesn’t love blackness lol he’s black and he’s spreading the message about black hardships and what they’ve been through.
Not with what they want! Lmao I love it, meaning that no matter who u are, your opinion is something that u NEED to feel...u may not see something because u just don't or u choose not to...it's whatever u NEED to get thru ur day :)
This light hearted banter between celebrities speaks to what has ultimately was along time tradition of “us against them” on many sides! Reactive nature that worked its self into that same mentality... we are people.. “this is America!”
@@kpopcraziefan3095 You didn't know if should TAKE this as racist or not? wow if things are racist or not is decided by if you TAKE THEM as such. Damn are you even a sentient being you stupid idiot?
i'm a 62 year-old white grandmother, born in kentuckassee and raised as an army brat on bases around the world, and i love this man so much it's creeping ME out.
SS Jethro everyone has the right to address their issues going on with their people , I feel when we as African-Americans talk about and express the issues that we face its constantly ridiculed like "How dare you guys focus on yourself for once and address and express issues you face fight for everyone and etc..." Your statement "Screw everyone elses suffering" is very ignorant
Fighter X23 Then why the interest in something your not interested in🤔 might sound cliche but its honestly one of those things where you have to see it and hear it to get a proper understanding of it then we can discuss
His expression at 0.09 too. Seems to me he's continuing the theme of the music vid in this interview. It's all fake smiles and every now and then he breaks character and you see he's fed up.
Oh god, how will you ever get that minute and thirty seconds back? To think of all the things you could have done, the sights you could have seen! You could have been traveling the world!
Well Donald Glover career just took a Flying soar to the top of the billboard Hot 100 then the show Atlanta season 2 on FX just got picked up for third season his career is on cloud nine right now so please give credit when credit is due
How is no one gonna call this out as cliccbait? Gambino was clearly avoiding talking about "the video" and was quite effect at it but the RU-vid boi at Jimmy Kimmel Live still saw it as an opportunity to milk Donald and his video for views.
He's always been the same person. I love the fact that in spite of all his success, he's still that same socially awkward, dorky kid with his legs criss crossed on interviews. Stay true to who you are
This is exactly what Donald Glover was singing about in This is America. The interview was about how many views he got and surface questions about what he generally felt towards the attention it's receiving. It did not reveal questions about the artist's inspiration and perspective to express things the way he did, or the emotion behind all his expressions and metaphors and symbolism. It did not delve into his take on the black experience in America, but was just distracted by views and being an overnight sensation. This is America.
