The problem is that they know how to avoid answering anything real. This interview told us nothing new and lex didn't press him on anything and just allowed him to use the time to ramble. The ukraine question is a perfect example. We got no new info about anything. Why didn't lex press him at all? This man tried to use fake electors to overturn the election. Why didn't he get pressed on that?
Kamala is busy with packed houses for rallies. No offense, people are easily impressed if they think Trump rambling "Everything I do is the best, everything my enemies does is the worst" is a real conversation.

Kinda seemed like Lex wasn't very prepared for this interview. Virtually every answer had some obvious lie and/misinformation in it, yet there were almost no push back or follow up questions. It's not so much an interview if you could swap out the interviewer with someone holding up que cards with questions written on them.

They laughed at Lex for always wearing a suit as though he was taking himself and podcasting too seriously. I’m a veteran and I regained myself again. PTSD is gone and my empathy came back after taking a few doses of mushrooms. They should be free for everyone. The world would be a beautiful place if we all took this mind healing medicine. After so many likes I just want to let you know. I was straight edge prior to doing them until the age of 27. I did shrooms for the first time at 29. I was desperate. Traditional psychiatric meds weren’t cutting it. So I decided to try shrooms. They are not meant for the weak minded. They can be dangerous too. Just be in a positive state of mind when taking them in a positive setting. If your body is comfortable you’ll have a great experience. It heals. But it can be dangerous if abused they are powerful. They reset you. Your neurons will have a blast.

Lex: What can you say to the independent voters about the 2020 election? usually Lex makes great _conversation_ , a look at and exploration of ideas. This was literally asking question, Trump saying whatever he wanted whether it answered the question or not, and then on to the next question. Worst interview I've seen Lex do.

A situation where both presidential candidates would have to sit in a room like this for 3 hours talking and interrogating one another would be awesome. It would also show who could keep their composure and be able to respectfully speak with their rival.
I believe this would be very unifying over time.. they would quickly learn to be respectful of eachother so that that respect would be reciprocated.. The first few however would be a complete mess as they slowly learn how to maneuver such an exchange to make it work. But again great idea!
We need Kamala, JD Vance, and Tim Waltz. These are so constructive and are really targeting centrists. Which makes them so much more useful for real thoughts and ideas.

Thanks for the timestamp, was what I was looking for. Definitely said it oddly but didn't read it as sarcasm here. I get his point that he had millions more votes then what he was told was assured victory and still lost. One of those things where if he says it really was with sarcasm, I'd say I understand, and then he needs to stick with this claim.
I heard the sarcasm, it's in the word choice, what the heck is a wisker... saying that alongside stated cheating in many ways implying he did win the election. Because he did win. Period. Biden didn't even win their debate back then much less that joke of an election. If he was the man they believe he is he would have canceled the election due to covid and served the country a huge favor.

I really went in to this with an open mind hoping to find some common ground with Trump. But i can't stand the way every other answer has some implication of how smart and successful he is, or how bad and stupid everyone who thinks differently are. And he is so uninterested in the interviewer. Not a single "Thats an interesting question" or "I have never thought about that but.." which people with actual empathy says to keep the conversation going. He always improvise an answer that ends with a positive light on himself.

I'd love to see it, but it ain't gonna happen. I say this as someone who doesn't belong to either party: the Dems are going to limit any kind of media exposure for their candidate because they know how unlikable and inauthentic she comes off to the general public. There's a reason that she got about 4% of the primary votes in the primaries.

I always start off by saying to anyone that sits down for these types of interviews "thank you!" Regardless of whether I agree with you or not i always appreciate people with a lot to lose for doing these long form interviews. It's impossible to completely hide who you are during something like this. All political candidates should be willing to do this.

Let me tell you, nobody knows more about talking like Trump than I do. Believe me, it’s tremendous. I could do this all day, folks, all day. And everyone’s saying, “Wow, how does he do it?” Well, it’s because I’ve got the best words. Nobody has better words.
I didn’t like Trump before this interview and I don’t like him now. HOWEVER, I listened to the entire interview and do not disagree with every point he makes. This type of format is important and I thank Trump and Lex for doing it.
I agree, as a right leaning moderate, there was a side of Trump I did like, and even now I still believe that he does make good points every now and then. However, Trump is also the guy who spread lies about the 2020 election that resulted in a riot and death. That's a red line for me, and it bothers me that so many still don't see it as a red line for them.

Trump gets credit for going on these interviews and putting himself out there. Credit where credit is due. Lex is a master of letting him open up and talk and letting the audience be the judge.
Trump has done 35 or so interviews since he started running again, Kamala had one and had to have her vp there. Pretty telling on who is running on policy and what they believe and who’s running on hoping enough people hate the other candidate to win.

To earn the right to sit in an office of public service you must answer to the people. That requires sitting down in these interviews, engaging in town halls, etc. If you cant do that you don't belong in public office
But to earn your right to sit in an office for public service, you have to be accountable for your actions! And if you start something like a coup d'état, which Trump did and the first people that took place in it, are slowly coming out of jail, but the initiatior (Trump) hasn´t even been prosecuted yet... That tells me, something in your country is absolutley wrong!

Lex only punches down. When the guest is an outcast, Lex asks the hard questions and follows-up. When the guest is important, Lex asks softball questions and fails to follow-up. Lex is fantastic with intellectuals, but cowardly with politicians.

As someone who has never really enjoyed the rally Trump, I really enjoy the calm long interviews that allow him to just talk. It's a sad world when one's hatred for a person is so strong they are absolutely incapable of seeing any good in a person
I watched the entire thing. He deflected from every tough question that was asked. I was all for making fun of Joe Bidend dementia but now I'm 100% convinced Trump is below average IQ. Dude is 90-95 at BEST.

Yup, podcasts and streaming have destroyed the stranglehold broadcast TV stations and newspapers have had on political narratives. It makes it a lot harder for the gov sponsored media to hide or suppress ideas contrary to their narrative now. Which is why they are pushing so hard for internet censorship like net neutrality.

Really? Lex has interviewed some of the most influential people in every sector of the world for years. I am far less surprised to see Trump sitting down with Lex than that comedian dude a couple weeks ago. Lex is, and has been, the real deal for years.

I will say I enjoy seeing a politician candidate that is willing to have these conversations. It does feel good to feel like some candidates are willing to meet their constituents half way. Just in the sense of having a conversation that’s not a soft ball interview & willing to have conversations outside of outdated cable news
This was a softball interview. If someone asks me if I killed a man and I rambled about what it means to kill a man then finish with "if I killed a man I'd have the largest crowd ever probably ever probably in existence", and the interviewer just moves on as if the question is answered, that's not a real question. Follow through on the question, press for a real answer, not a trained and comfortable ramble about literally nothing.
