Yes it is. The Secret Service takes their orders directly from the current president, one of the few agencies that does so. The only way they could keep him out of prison is if the current, duly elected President ordered them to do so. Trump is not in command of his Secret Service detachment any more than George Bush, Jimmy Carter or Hillary Clinton (as former First Lady she get's one too) and since their only job is to keep people from killing him they could easily do that while he was confined... easier even. Sure, they won't throw him into genpop at Rikers, they already found a way to be prepared for him to be sent to Rikers Island in case he kept running his mouth telling his daily lies. Don't worry, he's got a better chance than his buddy, Epstein. After all, Epstein died in prison WHILE TRUMP WAS PRESIDENT and the Clintons were out of power. If you're going to blame anyone for shutting him up, maybe start with the one who actually was close to him.

They'll form a strategy and plan with whatever prison trump ends up going to if he gets prison time. they'll make sure no inmates or guards otherwise have any access or opportunity to harm the former president. That is literally the only job they serve is physically protecting his life.
