There's no easy answer to whether Maduro should accept aid from the US (especially from the US). I understand why Maduro would reject the aid because it is obvious that this is a political move by the US to boost the opinion of their 'favored' leader, Guaido. And make the Venezuelans more willing to accept the transition of power. This is clearly obvious since the food shortages is partly caused due to the US's sanctions against them. If the goal of the US was to 'give humanitarian aid' (help people in need), they wouldn't have imposed sanction soon after the oil prices tanked; weakening their economy. They could have just sent humanitarian aid without the sanctions. However, I also understand the outraged civilians who really wanted that aid, besides some of them not being well-informed about the causes of food shortages. The average civilian is probably just tired of the situation and wants something to alleviate the burden of it. At this point, they couldn't care less about the true motives of the aid, they just know that they need it and that's about it. Like most civilians that are caught in a squabble between 2 or more governments, they just want to escape from it. And by the way, the US just imposed even tighter sanctions just a few hours ago as I typed this comment. So its clear at this point they are just trying to break the will of the people and get them to submit so all this lunacy could end.
