Hey, i was wondering since the braces are somewhat pliable would it be a better idea for me as between xl to xxl sizes to just get the xxl and mold it in more to fit well?

As a field service rep, I always tend to order a larger brace when in between sizes. Correct, you can mold the thigh and other parts of the brace to you, but also you can shorten the straps to fit as well. I would just make sure that you get a brace that fits well on the condyles of your femur. There should be a decently snug fit on those condyles to get the desired result.
It depends on what type of pants you are wearing. If they are baggy, you will want to wear the brace under the pants, if they are tight then you will wear it over.
