Todays game vs astralis but also Katowice showed us that the whole team is pretty damn cracked.Their teamplay and decisions and how theyre able to set themselves up are actually insane.Even if donks not always gonna get 2 rating per game all of them are impactful.

Donk takes advantage of time to info. If it takes 6 seconds for a rifler to see someone, digest the play that may be happening, and communicate that to the correct teammates accurately, Donk seems to get in there in 4 seconds. He gets inbetween before they can react. And has the aim to back it up.

He was kind of silent on vertigo today but then he got that deagle round and spirit ran away with 5 rounds. Which was a turning point in my opinion ofc the sh1ro cemented the win for them. But seeing donk with negative kd and below 1 rating is fucking insane at this point.

The math paper agrees with you. It’s saying the slightly higher average rating could be due to just “statistical noise” and the difference is NOT SIGNIFICANT enough to definitely say any small detected difference is not due to just random chance

A heavy mobile player like donk depends on a very strong anchor and ingame calls for it to work.I think the hype train in crafting a story around him as a player is a double edged sword and is very insignificant in the breakdown of his plays. If you actually see alot of his replays its where he always shows up in the right spot, this has a big flipside wich is being overlooked aswell as the core of why vertigo is such a hard map as a result for donk to show stats in. Maps that require even more on accurate rotation calling is where he gets put under stress.

Ok but if you actually look at the tweet he made you can see a statistically significant change. The hypothesis test was 0 difference between means, with a p-value of 0.08 (anything over 0.05 is generally agreed upon to be different). Variance testing (not shown in the screenshot) would probably be larger also. So just looking at the screenshot right there you could argue that the difference is likely small but statistically significant, AND it appears that variance is indeed larger which corroborates with the drop in rounds (which makes it easier for someone to have a good game to not die/end the game early/no comebacks etc.) which will exacerbate extremes. Conclusion is: The math shows that outliers will be more prevalent and the median has increased slightly. Your 'gut' feeling explanations are all good discussion points.

He finally whiffed a spray today You know you are dealing with a different level of player when you start counting his whiffs. I just didnt think his level of mechanical consistency was possible in cs. Due to the nature of the game, even the worst pros can have a good game and out aim everyone on the server. Thats why they call them 50/50 aim duels. The better aimer usually wins but sometimes you just happen to wake up right and feel the mouse better. In tracking based fps, the better aimer is much more likely to win a fair fight as you need to be consistently putting down bullets on target while in cs all it takes is 1 bullet. So the fact that he is overcoming the variance of mechanical ability and the "rng-ish" nature of point and click fps where its perfectly acceptable to have a bad aim day is just... Incredible...
