This video is part of our Donkey Driving Training series on RU-vid and we also have a full Driving Training DVD available for purchase!
In this video, I will show you how to introduce your donkey to ground driving using a round pen. It is important to have a good bridle foundation. In the next video in this series, I will show you how to introduce ground driving in an open area, for those of you who do not have a round pen to work in.
** For more information on Desensitizing and Obstacle work, and to further your education, please look to our Obstacle & Desensitizing DVD, Groundwork With A Purpose**
Our Driving DVD is only $45 (this is a TWO disc DVD!) to make them affordable to anyone needing to further their education to be a better teacher for their equine! :)

in some mountains area, the donkeys and/or the horses strongly assist human lives.

I have two jennets coming to me in a couple weeks, one being a 12hh 4 year old and while we are primarily getting them for packing I have two small children and would love to start the 4 year old under saddle so that they can ride and pony around. I see you’re using a snaffle bit, are there different sizes for different sized equines? Also, any recommendations for saddles? I love your videos they are so easy to understand and have me so excited to get my girls and start working with them! They are already pack trained, but I can’t wait to see what else we can do together!

Forgive me, I just saw this. Yes, there are different sized snaffles, I have found most standard donkeys will fit into typical 5" horse snaffles, but always check for proper fit. Same with saddles, this one is a 12" kids saddle :)

Donkeys do significantly better bitless than bitted. Never seen a happy bitted donkey. Always gaping at the mouth no matter how mild the bit, soft the hands, or how long you train them. Their mouth anatomy and mentality is different from a horse
