So I've never actually ever played Donkey Kong 64 but the soundtrack I listen to all the time. You definitely did Frantic Factory the justice it deserves.

Honestly the end gave me chills. This is what I played with my father growing up. The day he passes I’m coming back to this to ball my eyes out. Pure gold

So yeah, if I woulda heard this Frantic Factory portion for the intro of the Boss, I woulda started crying and asked my brother to play it for me, as the Mad Jack boss already terrified me as a kid. This whole medley is perfect honestly. 🥹

Improving on Kirkwoods work, while also keeping his distinct style is truly impressive. I do not understand much about music theory, but to me, you just "got it".

I feel like I need to say this, I can't help myself xD but I keep finding myself getting back to this medley more often than any other music lately. It's just the perfect culmination of the identity of the original tracks while also implementing new interesting ideas! All the while sounding amazingly realistic! I remember that when I heard this the first time, I thought you might've hired a real orchestra for this one. Keep on creating, I'll never get tired of it! ♥

Well done! The Fungi Forest section was my fav, the choir was a lovely touch and you transitioned between three variations beautifully.

I'm no orchestra expert, but here are my thoughts on this amazing soundtrack... 1. I love the tuba playing the low bass section of the DK rap! Also your impression of the vocals was so good! You sounded so much like the original rapper (I think it was Kirkhope himself?). Et votre prononciation de les mots Englais etais tres bonne aussi! 2. Dk Isle is just as beautiful as it should be! 3. I was listening to the sound of water from a river while Crystal Caves played. It went so perfectly along with it. This one is so pretty...I love the swelling horns during the climactic build toward the end. 4. I love the string hits right before the orchestral drums between 6:37-6:50. The drums throughout are great, actually 5. Wow! The choir voices and strings are so haunting in Krem Isle! What an amazing rendition. You made it somehow even more ominous. 6. In Gloomy Galleon, do I hear some kind of synth voice during the first fifteen seconds when the cello swells? Or is that just my brain playing tricks? 7. K Lumsy...depressing. Just tuba and staccato strings putting together a simple but powerful piece. 8. What's that instrument at the beginning playing the part of the toybox piano? Sounds like marimba or xylophone or something to my relatively untrained ear. Man, the horns sound so hear on frantic factory. May I ask what patch/vst you use? This one is my favourite so far because of the number of instrument parts going at once. 9. Keeping the mine cart one short was a good move. That one's a bit crazy and it's nice to have it as a bit of an interlude before the next track. 10. Beautiful! Fungi Forest Day, one of the best tracks in the game. I love the choice for the flutes. 11. Fungi forest boss...so epic! I love the orchestral drums. I wish this one went on a bit longer with some kind of climactic build at the end. I would love to see this one performed live. 12. Banana fairy isle. Interesting choice to add the small vocal sections. This one was a bit too short imo. I also think having just a grand piano to play the main section of this would've been beautiful. Is that a steel guitar toward the end? Never heard that in a Kirkhope soundtrack! I like it! Very different. 13. The tribal drums. Yes! So glad you included lots of them to give it that jungle feeling. 14. Using the sitar was a great choice (I think that's the instrument doing the main melody). Gives it a real desert feeling. 15. I love creepy castle so much. The melody is so good and catchy. You really did it justice. Using the deep choir and strings made it so much more epic and brooding. And of course you had to include the organ to make it sound like a funeral!! I love that you kept the haprsichord for the middle section/chorus. This one is literally a perfect rendition. My favourite so far. 16. This Gloomy Galleon rendition gives me Pirates of the Carribean vibes. I kinda wish the orchestral drums were more present on this one, but that's just me. 17. Here's the full version of Mermaid Palace I was waiting for! So beautiful. I love how you turned it from a slow, relaxing tune to a more exciting and epic one. 18. Evil DK Isle. Nice and ominous. Lets you know something big and bad is coming...strings sound great on this one, too. 19. K Rool Duel...such a great culmination of everything, with just about all the instruments of the songs from before. 20. I love the steel drums and guitar! haha you really included just about every instrument possible in this album! 21. What a beautiful way to finish, with a softer version of DK Isle! I'm not sure if a version like this was in the original game but I love it. Such a great conclusion. I'd like to imagine this would be the soundtrack if ever this game were remastered to a modern HD version. I'd also download this in a heartbeat if it were on spotify/itunes/etc! Tres bien fait mon ami!

This is awesome! I really appreciate how you always put a spin on the original music in your arrangements, so it still has the same feel, but isn't just a 1:1 copy done with orchestra instruments.

This has to be the best orchestration cover of dk64 ever made!

Wonderful job! I didn’t get anywhere in this game because the emulator I used confused my child brain, but it was exciting to see my favorite series but in 3D. I’m hoping it eventually gets added to NSO so I can actually experience it. Love the main theme, it’s just so relaxing and makes you feel like you’re flying sort of! All of this is great, but the mermaid part really stood out to me. I had to stop what I was doing and just listen. Just felt at peace. Thanks so much for sharing!

So at 7:25 you basically introduce elden ring/dark souls into Donkey Kong lol and bravo with the Kind of Boss-like DK Isle bit at 24:58. Some of the hits in it made me think of Year of the Dragon by Phillip Sparke
