Rigging music from DKC2 in pristine studio quality. This was made possible by locating the sounds from workstation keyboards and drum machines such as the Korg Wavestation, Roland S770, and Roland R8, and plugging them into the music instruction data ripped from the game, plus a little mixing magic to create might have sounded like with the veil of 16bit compression lifted. Part of a project to restore the entire DKC series soundtrack

Imagine how good at composing you have to be to create a piece of music that's just a few minutes long, and will be on repeat for hours, and still sounds amazing each time it restarts.

I absolutely _love_ this song! _Jib Jig_ is spectacular! It reminds me of _exactly_ what it was named for: Climbing the ropes, rigs, and sails on a pirate galleon, sailing the cold and windy sea! It is _so_ nostalgic too! I remember getting _Donkey Kong Country 2,_ just before the holidays back in 1995 when it was first released! It's one of my favorite games of all time! 🌀❄☔🌊⛵

This doesn’t even sound like a remix. It sounds like as if the game was released on the Nintendo WiiU/Switch instead of the SNES. Pure perfection.

It’s literally a restored version of the original song. It had to get bitcrushed to be used in a Super Nintendo game, like how the 16 bit sprites are just downscaled versions of an actual 3D model.

It's a short loop, but it never gets old. This song is just so joyful and upbeat. Really sounds like Pirate Heaven, with the sea shanty melody and the gorgeous harps 😍👍

@@ThraxxMediaOfficial Saw your comment. They are indeed flag waving sounds. Even on the gba soundtrack they are intendeed as a flag waving sound, it's just executed a bit differently which in my opinion nailed it better than what david wise did on the original.

One of the best things about donkey kong country music is the fact its not JUST music. It's full of ambient sounds, for example here there's the sound of wind.

I shed a tear, no joke. :') This is one of my favorite DKC songs, if not, one of my favorite songs ever. Hearing without compression makes a great difference. The harp, the drums, the flute... even the wind effects sound so crisp and clear! By the way, since you have access to the original samples, do you happen to know the name of the main lead instrument and where it comes from? I'm talking about the violin-like instrument that plays the main melody. I always found its sound so interesting and different from other violin samples.

If Davy Jones' Locker is basically hell for pirates, would this be heaven? Just hanging around on a giant network of masts way up in the sky with blowing winds, flapping sails, and this melody sounds pretty damn nice~ Maybe some of the more daring pirates would opt for a Slime Climb, too.

I feel this recaptures the feel of a pirates success of plundering. Diddy and Dixie watch in shock from the sails above as their uncle is hoisted by the sneering Kremlings all while they sneak along the masts and ropes finding an infiltrating point to go in as the kremlings cheer and celebrate their victory

While this is absolutely fantastic, I wonder if there is a possibilty to restore the stereo effects as well. Especially noticeable at around 0:50 to 0:54, where the original has a distinct stereo output.
