At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

Dkc1 = Most charm/nostalgia. Dkc2 = Best atmosphere/characters, Dkc3 = Best level design/programming.

32:20 not exactly a bug, those claps can be killed by rolling from behind, i guess the check states that you can roll kill them if both of you are in the same direction instead of having 2 different hit-boxes. It's kind of an oversight more than a bug.

The guy on the couch needs to quiet down a bit. Sure, its fine to joke around a bit, but he was openly bashing DKC3 for no apparent reason other than gloating. Congrats to the runner for showing restraint.

That guy in the red is the most obnoxious, arrogant person I have ever seen in a speedrun marathon. He was entirely rude and disruptive to the run. He constantly belittled the runner and the game and should never have been there to do any sort of commentary.

I used to be unable to watch any run involving Blueglass, but after some brief studying I found out that his mannerisms are just who he is and he can't change that. Hippie on the other hand knows full well what he's talking about in full knowledge, and for commentary on a platformer in a speedrun setting, he adds pretty much nothing and detracts pretty much everything.

Great choice! I loved DKC3 when it was out, DKC2 being my favorite game of all time (tied with OoT and Diablo II). For those of you complaining about the "red tshirt guy-" this is just a classic example of the alpha nerd "leader" type. Listens to rush, cool guy. Usually has long hair and perhaps even a qt3.14 gf who also games. At a lot events or gatherings, it is a very SOCIAL experience for us, where we can be ourselves and rag on each other. He's just having fun with his friends, and you all need to calm down and go back to being FILTHY CASUALS. On the topic of DKC3 vs DKC2: let's first say I love both. Now let's also say that when DKC2 came out, I got in a long line at Toys R Us on release date to get the game AND a free long sleeve tshirt with diddy and dixie on it, and when DKC3 came out, someone had to tell me it was out like a couple weeks in for me to notice it. By that time, N64 was just released a few months prior, and everyone was over their friend's place trying to play that or playstation and whatnot, so DKC3 kind of missed all the fanfare and mutual enjoyment that the first two came with. Both games are really, really good and I still go back and play them every so often, but DKC2 has this intangible sort of melancholy wonder to it that I can't quite put my finger on. Like a desert flower or a forlorn, whimsical crush.

For people that are hating on Hippie / the guy with the sunglasses : In the DKC community, we are used to bash on everyone's specific game or the series. Though I admit DKC3 is more hated because it lacks "speedrun" tricks like wrong warp and jumprolls. Though Hippie and I are great friends and the trashtalk was simply a querrel between us. Hippie might have gone too far, but he was super stressed on that day, like unnaturaly stressed (I scent it) so it played on the way he talked on the stream. i would rather guess that the tricks in DKC3 weren't found. people don't care about it as much as about DKC1 and 2, so the glitchfindingprocess is naturally a lot slower.

Tanzklaue There is that, but the tricks we found don't really do anything yet. They removed all the invisible storages and wrong warp tricks so you can't really mess with the memory anymore.

Be that as it may he should know when to stop. It applies more to this because it has already come across to many as just being a prick for no reason. Stressed or not he should know when it is too much. If he ever wants to do a speedrun for this channel this display onscreen will hurt his chances.

Geeze. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but man, it's really annoying to hear the hippie guy constantly bash this game and Brawl by proxy. I understand having a favorite game, but people like different games for different reasons. For him to constantly rant that these games are "inferior" for being better programmed and having fewer skipping bugs is just elitist and irritating.

I wish I could get paid to play games. I'm not talking about a career, either. More of a side hobby, like a RU-vid page like this or something. It'd be cool to have an income from it, particularly while I'm in college. Plus, I'd be able to take part in fundraisers like this. It's a no-lose situation.

You won't get a side income if you're in college, sir. (or ma'am). And you need a reliable computer if you wanna give it a go, but don't expect anything from it. Do some research from other players, see what they recommend for no big budget (microphones, recording harware, etc). Start small, make it a weekly thing, and start with a game you're familiar with as a walkthrough or playthrough theme. Don't try and do new games, because all the other tubers will usually be working on new games and people that look to see the gameplay on those games will go for the big names like pewds or minx. And don't get discouraged, and DON'T SELF PROMOTE on other channels or ask for views, because no one likes that and it makes people view you unfavorably. Give it a try and if it's something that you feel like you can manage and you'll work your fingers to the bone over, then you can make it more than a hobby. Good luck, and don't lose faith in yourself

DKC 3's lightning level got me as a kid..replaying the GBA version as of late, trying to finally beat it (that'll be all of the DKC 1-3 games beaten).. also, red shirt guy, snakes LOVE body heat..but I'm almost certain he was joking. almost, as he seemed legitimately afraid remembering it.

Great! DKC3 is my fav of the trilogy, you find some short-cuts i never think, if got levels or warps not for a 0% speedrun is irrelevant, try a speedrun for the 105% that´s need a lot of skill.

I do 103% also. (though doing 105% in a speedrun is useless since it's like 103%, but taking out all the damage boosts) Also, the bonuses with green bananas are total RNG and you can't do shit about it
