Mine theme from DKC1 in pristine studio quality. This was made possible by locating the sounds from workstation keyboards and drum machines such as the Korg Wavestation, Roland S770, and Roland R8, and plugging them into the music instruction data ripped from the game, plus a little mixing magic to create might have sounded like with the veil of 16bit compression lifted. This level always creeped me out as a kid, the music, the stage and the practicality possessed enemies. 5 year old me ran through the stage as fast as possible.

Misty Menace, and especially this wonderful extended restoration, sounds like it comes from a horror movie. I love it! And the accompanying level (Stop & Go Station) is terrifying as well! And in this music, you can hear the future… Mining Melancholy’s first draft!

I always thought this song was scary. That is one of the reasons in dkc that I used to rush these levels, and I would always use the shortcut at the beginning of stop and go station because of that. The background even fits in with the song.

@@Nyah420 Yep there is. At the Beginning of the level, instead of going to the right, go back through the entrance of the level to the left and you will be warped to the near end of the level.

Of this entire video, starting at 06:45 hearing the distant banging sounds with the Mine Background in the "Misty Mine" level is my favorite part, because you only see the mine background in Mine Cart Carnage, the bonus levels in Stop & Go Station, and throughout Misty Mine, although the walkway background in Loopy Lights was replaced with the mine background in the GBA version.

My favorite theme in the entire game. One reason why I don't like the Game Boy Color version is because they replace this theme with Minecart Madness, which makes Minecart Madness the level (one that uses "Life in the Mines" assets) really awkward. D:

This level is just gtfo asap. I think there are maybe two bonus levels here but other than that this level seriously singular to a hollowed out soul and dead tones that lie within. Seriously the most sinister track in the game. Maybe the whole franchise. Definitely singled out. The Nine Circles of Donkey Kong Hell..i mean it's literally like dk is experiencing an entire collapse of his mental state and his physical world is crumbling and this track is his conviction.
