Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (WiiU) (Nintendo) Song: Forest Folly Composer: David Wise, Kenji Yamamoto Year: 2014 Donkey Kong and Characters/Music are Property of Nintendo.
If you mean "new" OST, then yes this is definitely the best. If you consider Bravely Default's OST as counting as this year, then, I disagree with you. Nothing can beat that OST, at least for me. That soundtrack had way too many epic sounding pieces. The final boss themes alone, trump this one.
***** I for one, care, and you should too. I might not agree that it is better than Tropical Freeze, but I still love Bravely Default's track to death. I listen to many of both OST's song regularly, and I respect SDW's opinion on the matter.
Agreed, the other parts fit in to the level and make for a good gameplay experience, but listening to the track alone makes me wish that rad tune carried on for a bit.
@@TheCoolNintendoGuy8593 Oh yes he will. When the next Donkey Kong game comes out (eventually, no idea when), mark my words, David Wise will deliver, as he always does
@@madduxnagel6935 I never said he won’t deliver. I just said he won’t top this. He doesn’t need to top this either it will be perfect even if he doesn’t
This is probably my favorite track. I specifically returned to this level a few times just to hear the music. EDIT: I also really love Scorch N' Torch and Seashore War.
@Char's World i expected another great ost by David wise, but the mad lad managed make a masterpiece. As an aspiring composer i get mind boggled by this.
@@jclkaytwo didn't know either. But yet again keyboard managed to miss quote me in a funny way because of a miss key and now i'm thinking on the concept, might use in an rpg or something lol
Amazing, perfect, mesmerizing, emotional theme. I am permanently getting goosebumps all over my body. Honestly, never played a DK game. Tropical Freeze was my 1st one ever and I can say that this is by far THE best platformer I have ever played.
Rick Dryden DKC2 has my favorite ost of all gaming ironically and is still the best DKC in my eyes. This post makes me so happy since it brings a modern tone to what made DKC2's score so amazing.
I disagree with the posts saying DKC2 was the best, ironically enough (see profile pic). Second best? Easily. But Tropical Freeze has usurped the throne as #1.
One of my favorite tracks from this game. I'm surprised that for each level that represented one of the worlds from Donkey Kong Island, Wise didn't remake a track from the respective worlds, changing it accordingly to make the music sound icy and all that good stuff. Either way I'm glad we mostly have original tracks for world 8, but there's so few for this world compared to the others (only 6 despite the presence of 10 non-boss, non-temple levels)!
I thought the original DKC Returns was very straining on the eyes, though the visuals were gorgeous and the levels were indeed dynamic. But after hearing this tune, and seeing the nature of the new game, I am more than considering buying. This song alone is amazing, reminds me of the DKC tracks of old.
I don't know how Returns was straining on the eyes for you. But if that's the case, Tropical Freeze will be even more straining on the eyes because there's even more detail to the visuals than there was for Returns.
The Primal Rave tune from DKC2 at 0:18 to 0:24 is my favorite detail of this track. David Wise went far when it comes to reference his masterpieces with this song
It's been just about a decade since I preordered this game. After all these years, I think I can finally say that *this* is my favorite track. Masterful, chilly, crisp elegance.
This game seems to have very many ambient and atmospheric tracks. Many people prefer Returns soundtrack but I like this one better. It sounds more traditional because atmosphere was always something that Donkey Kong Country games were about.
Wow, listen to that stereo surround... When I get this game, I'd better play it on a TV with good sound or my past self is gonna kick my future self's ass.
Also anyone realize that not counting Secret Seclusion the game has the exact same number of worlds as the first Donkey Kong Country? The original game had 6 worlds too.
I was going to say it actually has the same amount of worlds as DKC2 (and that most people like to think this game is primarily taking homage to DKC2), but I just realized that DKC2 has that secret world, making it 8 worlds. Well, at least now we can say that there is a DKC game with 7 worlds.
I refer to it as computerCore. There’s not a whole lot of instrumental soundtrack music made on almost completely digital synth type sampling / programming. But the dkc1 soundtrack might the first entrant in the category. Another artist on this thread is called dreams of my death
Is 59.99 worth it? I got the Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set for Christmas (it's fun), Smash (A lot more better than the 3ds version, though I don't like what they did with classic...) Lego- The Hobbit- best Lego game to date) and I really want this game and Hyrule Warriors. Also I have a black Wii U...I kinda want Windwaker HD though...the only Zelda I've beaten is ALBW.
If I were you I would buy it when it's on a sale as there are a lot of small problems that add up, at least in my opinion. However, it should become one of your favorite games on the system as everything that one would most expect to be amazing is amazing!
mericalgirl1234 WAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaiiiiiiiiit.....you've been haunting the comment sections of these vids with Harry Potter ideas for months, and you don't even have the game? And to answer your question, yes the game is worth it, but the magic of seeing a level and hearing one of these tracks for the first time might not be as strong for you. :(
Birthnote mericalgirl1234 Yeah, don't do the same mistake I did. I accidentally found out a bit too much about the levels and the music that's in them. Probably the worst thing I found out due searching up DKCTF before having played it was that *SPOILER!!!!!!* Anyway, the worst thing was that Cliffside Slide is a silhouette level. Had I not known that before playing the level, I would have been relatively blown away. It looks awesome!
I think I'll wait to get this. I'll get it eventually, but my computer's getting fixed in 8 days, so I can make videos again-I haven't been able to since August... the CPU broke for some stupid reason...I'll probably get WW HD first though. One more question- can the black Wii play Game Cube games? There's this thing on the side...I just can't open it, though. It looks like where the controller ports would be.
I was an idiot on this stage. I didn't think for one second that I could bounce great distances from those smaller spring platforms with the Hand Slap.
