This song was actually composed by a group of 30 monkeys at Nintendo HQ back for the original Donkey Kong Country. They were all given random instruments and made this beauty.
Im a bird but i still can understand why monkeys are pretty much superior race to humans, they just dont have brain, but i think in todays society its more of an blessing than given, at least on internet.

I love how, this being played on harder-than-usual levels, you only get to finish the buildup if you're somewhat successful, it's a really great treat! (Of course this is only if you don't just chill at the start listening to the music, no one can blame you)
You are still lucky, I spent 58 hours of my life on the temple levels... (meaning well over 700 lives, 3 controllers smashed to the wall and A LOT of money spent on Funkys shop.
A few years ago, whenever I was upset I used to play this song really loud out of my surround system. During the drum parts I would move around the house like donkey kong and just act like him and be very aggressive and get up in my family members faces. Once 00:46 kicked in I would start throwing things around and start making loud chimpanzee noises, just going around the house flipping over chairs and throwing papers and stuff off tables and just making a huge mess of the house in minutes. My family came to dread this song whenever it played because they knew it meant one thing. Man I miss those days.

When I heard this I knew shit was about to get real. You don't play one of the most renown pieces in the series without it being followed by something challenging.
@@sonofilms7143 I think what they're saying is that Sonic has a lot of iconic tracks just like DK Island Swing...and those games aren't challenging in the least. Hence, following an iconic track with something challenging is something that Sonic simply does not do like DK.

This just screams joy altogether. It is like David Wise said "aaah yes, finally I could arrange my composition in an official mainline Donkey Kong Country" and just went with everything he had, with full hapiness.
I SWEAR this would be perfect for the ending credits of a movie about donkey Kong. I don't know why, but it really sounds like it could be playing alongside some ending credits
At this point.. people wanting rare back want only the damn name. Rare isn't what it was anymore.. just look at kineckt sports.. Almost every former employee including the founders, left rare.. And some of the creative minds behind rare work now on retro.. Retro IS Rare 2.0
I want the equivalent of Rare. Retro has been great but it's one studio. If we could have two Retro quality titles per year instead of one Retro title per 2-3 years would the ideal scenario.
Retro Studios is a big influence on the Rare employees of old so much so that they are starting their own company and are starting off with Project Ukelele- a spirtual successor to Banjo Kazooie. Check it out if you haven't already.
What everyone fails to realize is that Rare ain't the same anymore because of two things the two founders left to be engineers and almost every employee in a last ditch effort left to get a job to work for Nintendo. The company you want back has already re-emerged as Retro Studios and yes almost everyone who worked on the SNES trilogy worked on DKCR and DKCTF!
Erik Vargas Yeah, at this point wanting Rare back is pointless. I just wish Retro or Nintendo could get their hands on the old Rare properties that MS has abandoned. Thank god DK always belonged to Nintendo, or else this awesomeness would've never happened because the franchise would've been held captive like Banjo Kazooie.
Erik Vargas (something semi-unrelated) My older cousin said he was looking forward to Donkey Kong Racing, which was shown at E3 2001. Unfortunate for him, Rare went to Microsoft one year later, so all he got was a trailer. What I'm wondering is if Retro could revive some of Rare's games that were cut when they transferred to Microsoft.
Erik Vargas A lot of RareWare employees (the ones who worked on perfect dare/goldeneye) actually went to form a new studio called Free-Radical Design where they developed Timesplitters, they were later bought out buy Crytek and are now known as Crytek UK
***** actually, Banjo-Pilot was originally Diddy Kong Pilot, but Rare no longer had the rights to the Donkey Kong franchise (with Microsoft and all) they had to re-do the game entirely. *FUN FACT*: This is the last Banjo-Kazooie game to be on a Nintendo console (The Game Boy Advance, to be exact)
Every time I play on the DK level in Smash 4, this is the most frequent song I have set to play! My favourite version of Jungle Hijinx, by a long shot. David Wise owns this song, and he lets you know that with style. :)
Here's some stats: -the Wii U version only sold 2,250,000 million copies, 1,960,000 (87%) of which were sales outside of Japan. -the Switch port sold a whopping 4,120,000 copies. That's nearly double the amount the Wii U sold. I think it's safe to say that the Switch saved this game from its demise.
I love how the 3 parts of the song are at the same tempo, that just makes it more comfortable to listen, also i like David's Sax. Im waiting for a new game. I will return when Nintendo announces another DKC.
***** Actually it was in DKC2. It was remixed in the bonus room theme. I don't remind of it in SNES DKC3, tough. But the GBA remake of DKC3 had a different soundtrack than it's SNES original. And this theme was in GBA DKC3 as a chase theme.

This was misnamed as "Swinger Flinger" in Smash Wii U when it was meant to be "Bopopolis". Even the Japanese version got it right ("Fumifumi Labyrinth", which was the Japanese name for "Bopopolis"). You had _one job_, Treehouse.
Treehouse just needs to stop not doing their job. Look what they did to Fire Emblem Engage. They "censored" a relationship, even though the characters were well aware that the relationship was bad.
Imagine if instead of take on me, they play the loudest adrenaline pumping bombastic version of this song ever in the movie. Like imagine this to power of one million.

I really like this. It's one of the best versions of DK Island Swing I've heard. I really like the one from DKCR, but I think is above because it's very dynamic (or something like that) and it takes the original song and makes a full-on big band song, with some world mixed in near the end before it loops. It's short compared to the original though.
God these levels are so fun, they’re pretty tough but the pay off makes it all worth while, still a great reason to come back and play the game even after beating it
Some say that the original one had bits of King Louie's theme from "The Jungle Book". Listening to this one, it's hard not to imagine otherwise. It's a very good track indeed.
Glad to see they put DK Island Swing into this game as well. It's been in every single DK platformer since DKC, if you count the intro remix in Wrinkly's Save Cave in DKC3 and DKL3.
This was the bane of my existence back in the day, it took me FOREVER to beat Bopopolis. Of course, now I love this remix, and that stage isn’t that bad now
