I’m so happy this trial is finally happening. Ruth Markel is not only every Canadians “mom” but she’s every mom in the world who would move mountains to get justice for her child. Watching from 🇨🇦
@@tomdallas3690 The Markels are not ultra-orthodox. Phil has said he is traditional, but not religious. It is obvious from the way Ruth dresses that she is not ultra-orthodox. At least know your facts before going on your anti-Jewish rant.
Donna, you have raised corrupt children and soon we pray Wendi will be brought to Justice. There is no complete justice until she is convicted! She shouldn't get away with it. Is this all worth it? Your family has no ethics or morals.
It was ridiculous about how she made harvey seem like a invalid. He is a millionaire dentist. He cant afford and find a cab to get home. He is really that inept?
@@annm9589 Big difference between a decent attorney and good one. Would you only want a decent attorney representing you in a conspiracy to murder case that if convicted you are going to jail and will only leave dead in a body bag?
So Donna’s argument is going to be that- she couldn’t get the Sun Pass info because she wasn’t charged yet, BUT simultaneously she had a “joint defense agreement” already even though she wasn’t charged yet…? Hmmmm….
I know, I am so stuck on this part. Only because of the time stamps that show she got to the scene AFTER Garcia called Katie. I *want* to believe it was her who notified Katie, but the time stamps don't lie. It's very odd. Maybe Luis is misremembering, but it seems like a very strange thing to say if it didn't actually happen. I hate that the whole Whats App thing blocks detectives from getting good information about these cases. It sucks. Sorry but if you use Whats App instead of your normal phone, there's a reason, and it's shady lol
The Adelsons are all about money, money, money. They have a weird obsession about the accumulation of money, from Charlie hoarding quarters for Harvey to the piles of money in their safe. Each pile belonged to a different individual, or two individuals, and they talked about moving money from one person's pile to another person's pile.
And status. Every time Wendi mentions someone to Isom in her interview, she doesn't lead with their name, she leads with their occupation. He's a dentist, he's an attorney, she's a doctor, she's a professor, he's a podiatrist, she's a surgeon. Who effing cares in the middle of a murder investigation?! Take the stick out and give the relevant info! She does it at trial too. They ask her when she got married. Instead of saying the year, she says, well that was my 2nd year of law school, so it would be.....🙄🙄 Girl, relax. No one cares. Give the year and move on. You're not impressing anyone on this jury with your credentials.
Their spending habits are is idd, $8 million worth accumulated, enough to spend hundreds of thousands renting apartments in Miami (partly while owning a house there) lobster & the high life but she couldn’t book return tickets to Vietnam???
I'm starting to understand the STS haters, of which there are increasingly more. Joel often doesn't even listen to his guests. One of his guests will give a brilliant answer to his question and instead of acknowledging it, Joel will opt to immediately segue into an anecdote about his dog. 🤦♀️
If you don't like it, find a different channel. The side tangents are what most of us love about this channel. Joel is hilarious and it's fun to hear all the extra stuff. Better than boring, dry, reporting. I love this channel. Sadly I had to take a break when they covered Karen Read b/c she's guilty as hell and they seemed to have leaned into the conspiracy crap, but I'm so happy to be back for Donna's trial. Why even be here and be angry and annoyed with the coverage? Life is too short. Find a channel you love and don't sit here and be miserable, only to leave hurtful comments.
Joel does a great job and does an unbelievable job of running things smoothly. For example, when he asks a question, he will then say whatever guests name, then ask it again, so that nobody else jumps in first. In fact, I have never heard two guests try to speak at the same time, which is miraculous. Plus, he is glancing at the live chat like most are, and probably fielding inquiries from his wife (C.O.E). My only complaint is that he, like basically everyone else, is way too rah rah on the Justice for Dan narrative. He doesn't ever have a show, for example, like the top 5 reasons Donna might NOT be guilty. I mean, nobody ever contemplates the other side of these things. Obviously, my pet peeve is the lazy Vietnam narrative, and Joel hasn't really considered the other side of that....just like almost every guest. There is a small chance Donna didn't find out about Charlie's plans until right after the murder. If that is the case, Donna is innocent, and the facts about Vietnam are exactly the same whether she is innocent or guilty...fleeing an indictment in this exact scenario, if innocent, is totally logical. He runs a good show. He has a ton of reasons to be biased, and will admit as much. I think he has stated that the show's purpose is somewhat of a Justice for Dan Markel show. He's afraid, as is everyone else, to offer any type of criticism at all to Dan Markel or his family. I get it, but it gets old, because there is fascinating info out there about this battle that led to Dan's murder. We have to find it out on our own, I guess.
@@tomdallas3690 Seriously you can believe what you want. I don't know who you are and why you keep pushing the 'Donna didn't find out until after the murder" train. Every single one of your comments or questions pertains to that same exact narrative. Your question has been asked and answered multiple times. The evidence is all there. If you still don't believe Donna conspired on the murder, then good luck with that bridge you're going to buy. Nobody does a show on reasons why Donna might not have done it because it would be a very short show.
Limiting texts and phone data re D's car location etc. isn't so bad b/c the core crims, Louis/Sigfriedo/Katie, verify and expose all that went on. True, they're criminals but their stories are consistent and cohesive. Momma Donna is going down w/the rest of the murderers. This case is so pathetic: People get divorced every day and don't resort to such heinous and disgusting behavior.
I am confused why this has taken so long - it was obvious from the beginning how much Donna was a leader in this murder- can someone tell me if they know
The kids should live with Dan‘s family so they can hear what a great person he is rather than extended family of Wendy where they would hear the opposite . In true crime cases this is always my pet peeve that a parents adult child is murdered by their spouse and the children go to the murderer, family, and not the family that lost the child😢
Hi! Last video you read my comment- thank you! I am positively intrigued by this case as its circumstances, motives, economic class differences amongst the culprits and the distinguished victim and most obnoxious Adelson family with Wendi as the still uncharged evil manipulative chief player- it is dynamic and continues to evolve. Your coverage A+
He makes some good points, but he also said Katy Magbanua wouldn't testify, and if she did, she would easily be impeached. Someone else said that he also predicted Donna would not be charged. I like him, but he is a bit too cozy with Tallahassee to ever really speak his mind if he has a contrarian point of view. He is at his best when talking about cases outside of Tallahassee because there is no potential conflict. Of course, by being a Tallahassee insider he is one of the few that can offer solid info about dynamics that others outside of Tallahassee cannot offer.
I disagree. Imo Carl Steinbeck is the YT lawyer for this case. Tim decided he would insult and undermine Carl on this channel, hence Carl is no longer a guest here. Very unprofessional by Jansen imo.
@@jonoharper4729 I forgot that they had a pretty big battle that got ugly, at least for here. Carl is very knowledgeable, but he is strictly an ABC type of guy and really doesn't have a good imagination. He can list a bunch of evidence, and has some good insights when he says stuff like....what are the odds, when talking about how unlikely certain actions would be made by an innocent person (that is normally my cup of tea), but his predictions about who is likely to be charged in this case, who would testify, etc., and how impactful that testimony would be, have not stood out more than anyone else. Most all of the legal experts expected Charlie and even Katy Magbanua not to testify, and not a one of them, once Rashbaum said Charlie was going to testify, thought of the extortion defense, which is the only defense he can make there. Carl has never articulated the legit possibility that Donna found out after the murder. He lines up all of his evidence, but doesn't realize that almost all of it goes out the window if Donna didn't find out until shortly after the murder, then went along with Charlie's plan. He, like others, never even contemplates what is a legit possibility here. I definitely wouldn't want him prosecting me, because he piles up the points.
@@tomdallas3690 You seem to know the case and players well. I am not that knowledgeable but have dipped in and out of various channels to keep up to date. I'm personally drawn to Attorneys that display high integrity, calm demeanor and articulate presentation of well researched facts. Carl Steinbeck is that imo. I do think the facts and evidence are comprehensive and insurmountable for Donna. I'm open to hearing evidence that Donna only found out after the fact, but I haven't seen any. Imo she plays the matriarch role in that family, a dominant matriarch at that, and she was involved from the start, from inception to planning and now through to this point. Thanks for your insights and detailed response 😊
@@jonoharper4729 I agree that Carl appears to have very strong character. I am just a bit critical of all here because the evidence against Donna is simply not as strong as has been portrayed for what has been about ten months. They have simply repeated tons of evidence against her, but really have never thought of the possibility of how weak that evidence would be if she in fact, found out shortly after the murder. It is as if they never contemplate it at all. There is no smoking gun against Donna, that makes me sure she knew about the murder plan when she made Wendi's Best Buy appointment. Without proving that, I think she has to be innocent, no matter how much people hate her, and no matter how much she hated Dan Markel.
If Donna’s phone actually had texts confirming without a doubt that Wendi was involved when would that actually come out? At Donna’s trial or would they keep the lid on it? Or would they have already arrested Wendi?
They aren’t loyal to Rash for his results or acuity as an attorney.. it’s his lack of morals and integrity… the fact that he’s willing to bring forward a defense filed with blatant lies.
Prayers for Ruth, Phil, Shelley, Lincoln and Benjamin as this trial begins. It’s hard to fathom the staggering depth of loss that this family has endured. Not to minimize Markell suffering, however thinking today aboutB&L. First they lose their dad, then their uncle now their gma and possibly their mom! These poor boys. 😢
Full credit to Mentour Lawyer for obtaining this new evidence. Also, saying "sorry to interrupt" before interrupting does not excuse interrupting. Just shut it until others have finished what they're saying. It's not that hard.
Why Donna and Harvey Addison didn’t buy a round trip European ticket perhaps to Paris. Then once in Paris buy tickets to Vietnam? Hewever, law enforcement had other pre-trip information that the two Addison’s were in the process of fleeing.
Because they could've been watching for them at the Paris airport having gotten a heads up of their flight plans. She was trying to breathe a sigh of relief once on a flight to a country without extradition
@@uraigroves7898 sounds like it was text messages or emails, which is even better, because it's in black and white and they can't accuse her of lying. Can't wait to see what it says.
@@uraigroves7898 Everything Wendi has said indicates guilt. There can't be a bigger bombshell than her comments to Lacasse about his trip, followed by her drive to Trescott shortly after the murder. Well, I guess there can, but those two facts I mentioned are enough to send her to prison alone.
There is absolutely no way for Wendi to deny involvement when you have Jeff being set up as the fall guy. There’s just no way to explain that as a coincidence. She was very much involved IMO
Judge gull just said geo fencing is not allowed to be used in the Delphi case. She said it's not accurate. She took away all of the defense's ability to challenge the state's dumbness
One day I was listening to STS while I was cleaning the pool. It happened to be a really cold day In Florida, like 40 degrees. My IPhone 11 slipped out of my pocket and went to the bottom of the deep end..I stood there & watched as it was still playing STS under the water. I dropped the pole with the skimmer net & I jumped in(clothes and shoes on) to retrieve it..haha..didn’t occur to me I coulda just scooped it up with the net. At any rate, that was like a year ago & the phone still works perfectly. Phones are pretty sturdy these days even a 5-6 year old phones! So I disagree with the guest who said if you drop your phone in water you need to back up your data and get a new phone right away.
Joel is always “sorry to interrupt” - nope he is not. Joel should stop apologizing for interrupting because clearly he loves to do it and is not capable of stopping.
The hot mic, question , "Do you think she(Wendi) will tell on you?" That implicates Wendi's guilty knowledge that Donna has done the deed of murder! That statement puts Wendi in the mix.
@Tim Janson … Couldn’t Fifth Amendment self-Incrimination issues be asserted by Donna Addison concerning why she didn’t request law enforcement collect and/or preserve time sensitive information?
Donna will never take a plea - not Ben an Alford plea so it’s moot but it would be hard to think the mother and brother had your husband murdered without your knowledge.
Great point by Jessica about the motion regarding the courtroom & both Tim & John nodded in agreement. Would have been great to discuss further all threes' thoughts on what prompted it (Donna?) rather than Joel's iguana sightings.
I think he lost weight over the last half a year or so. He has been getting lots of those comments, but I don't remember him getting them before the weight loss. For whatever reason, the weight loss, since it is really showing up in the face, has made him a matinee idol of sorts. I say...good for him.
Quick Question. Would Wendy have moved to Texas to escape the new Florida law that would allow her sons to see and know Danny’s parents? If that is the reason, that is beyond cruel.
You have to understand that the Adelsons see themselves as victims here. Since that is the case, and their family is destroyed because of Dan Markel's actions, you cannot expect them to give an inch to the grandparents. It makes perfect sense from their perspective. They had Dan Markel killed because in their minds, he was a horrific person.
Yes. While foreign ownership of land in Vietnam is prohibited, foreigners can invest in real estate entities connected to land through leaseholds. These entities, such as apartments or villas within developments, come with long-term lease agreements, typically lasting for decades.

@lisainthelab Listen, Lady, I'm not talking to you, and I most certainly know what I can do or not do. It's an opinion, I've listened before, I didn't say it wasn't good, they get off track and there are some others just like this and some more equally balanced with commentary that pretty much stay on the subject but in no way boring. This isn't your business. Some welcome different opinions and look at what they might need to improve, and they should always want to be better . So mind your own business and you do you!!

Because it has a way of undermining your authority, right, and I bet you've worked pretty hard, right, to get where you are for that to happen, right? If you don't feel the gravity of this, right, just get a pencil & listen to this podcast, and make hashmarks for each time it's said. 😉 I know this, because that was my crutch, as well.~*
The name Tallahassee comes from the Muskogean language and is derived from the words "talwa" for town and "hasi" for old. It translates to "old fields" or "old town". The Apalachee Indians, who lived in the area in the 16th century, were the first to give the name to the area.
9:22 I just linked a higher courts decision on Expert Testimony on a video I just loaded. And absolutely the court said an expert is someone with more knowledgeable then average person. That can add value and probative evidence.
Donna's goose is cooked. I can't speak for anyone else, but the horrific murder Dan and those involved is enraging. Wendi stripped Dan of his dignity the way she left him, ripping out his heart in the process. They attempt to buy his parentsl rights after he declines moving so Wendi can live with her parents, totally unreasonable. Donna was all in the mix, controlling everything. She ruined two families and devastated communities where folks knew Dan, in law, education, friends and family. Because Dan stood up to Donna, he had to die. Wendi stripping Dan's boys of his identity and her podcast, first divorced now dead should all be evidence against her now.
Mature aged women often require a lot of maintenance in regards to weight control and the ageing process. I have little doubt Donna was on a strict regime of HRT and supplementary 'compounded' and 'off label' medications to dampen her invasive symptoms before her arrest. Whether she has access to the full complement of prescribed treatments is anyone's guess, but could very well be a large contributing factor to her recent weight gain.
He was on the witness lists of the other trials too but didn't get called to testify. So he may not get called for this one either. If he does though, it makes sense, because obviously he has more information about Donna Adelson than about Katie/Sigfredo/Luis.
@@lisainthelab exactly, also could be new info or phone calls. I would love to see him testify with Donna sitting there. Evil of me to enjoy watching these people squirm, but they make me sick.
It took ten months, but finally someone made the correct point that Donna's fleeing to Vietnam was not necessarily consciousness of guilt. Of course she is fleeing....fleeing an upcoming indictment (whether guilty or innocent, she would be wise to get out of dodge). I mean, thank you Jessica (John may have also said similar). Then at the end, Tim says he predicts Rashbaum will say that Donna was fleeing a potential unfair trial. No kidding, Tim. You and others have been saying for half a year at least how Vietnam means consciousness of guilt, but it doesn't mean that at all. Donna could very well be guilty, but she may be innocent, and given these exact facts, if one were in Donna's exact shoes, one would be wise to consider leaving, especially when Georgia Cappleman says stay tuned when speaking at Charlie's verdict press conference. Now, compare that to other evidence in the case, mainly Wendi's drive to the crime scene. It is essentially impossible to explain that drive, and the facts of that drive (assuming true), unless Wendi knew of the plan. Can't get there. So, that action only works for guilt on Wendi's part, yet concerning Donna and Vietnam, how can it not be the action that an innocent person would also take, in this exact circumstance? Yet it took until the end of the show for Jessica to make this point (Jo Potuto the other night, said similar). Now, everyone will be pivoting and when Vietnam becomes a far easier defense than other evidence, there will be no apologies about how wrong the Vietnam hot takes have been. They are simply wrong because whether Donna is innocent or guilty, the exact Vietnam facts make perfect sense. The big problem for Donna is not Vietnam, and not the money drop. For the money drop, if she was in on it, and not just going along with Charlie's plan, wouldn't she have taken that to him days or weeks earlier? Sure sounds like it was Charlie's plan, and that Donna may have figured things out really quickly after the murder, and dropped some cash off to Charlie per his rushed request. I see a huge problem with the bump reaction, but only because she used the code word TV. I mean, Donna made the Best Buy call, which I can argue could easily have been made without Donna knowing about Charlie's murder plan. But for her to use TV as a code word for the murder, is a pretty damning coincidence, and certainly is something that potentially connects the dots for the jury. That was a huge mistake. Using TV as a code word is definitely something that is hard to square, if Donna in fact didn't know in advance. The one-sided coverage here has been a disappointment. You have a prominent family, who essentially was willing to risk everything to get rid of Dan Markel. That doesn't happen too often. Yet, any critical thinking was met with.....you must be an Adelson shill....or you must be Rashbaum. I watched the detective interview one of Dan Markel's co-workers the other day. This video was taken less than a week after the murder. The first thing out of the detective's mouth was....man...this Dan Markel sure rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. That is a shocking way to start an interview. Yet, not a peep about any of that. If you dared to mention any facts like this the response was a ridiculous....doesn't mean he should have been murdered!
It’s evidence which may point to consciousness of guilt, it’s not definitive but it’s pretty compelling when you listen to all the calls and see how they were settling their finances & wills etc. You understand the meaning of a logical inference? ?
Thank you for providing very good counter points- I think the entire family was in on it BUT Donna and Charlie were sloppy and Wendy …gave up her brother to save herself….. ALL that said - I appreciate hearing another perspective/ explanation
Good counterpoints tomdallas- but respectfully disagree with you re conciousness of guilt in her attempt to flee. I DO agree that this is not the most incriminating evidence. There is a LOT of it and yes- the TV code is damning indeed.
Its nice to hear another side. This channel is defintely biased against the Adelesons. If i want a balanced appoach there are other RU-vid lawyers I watch: lawyer you know, emily d baker, lawyer lee..
Blah blah blah Donna will be convicted and Wendi will be arrested soon thereafter. You can try to make a case that this case against Donna isn't that great but no one with a brain is gonna buy it.
