Via / encyclopediamadonnica On January 28, 2024, Donna De Lory and Niki Haris - Madonna's former backup singers & dancers - performed their show at the Green Room 42 in NYC. Here, the fantastic finale, "Nothing Really Matters."
I miss them on tour with Madonna, they were her greatest asset and her shows while still a spectacle, are still missing the special uniqueness they brought.
You're the best at getting this footage! What a great moment (and also ironic(?) that this was the last song they ever sang backup on for a studio record of M). What a fitting finale, they were incredible! And Michael Gregory!!! Legendary Girlie Show dancer!
Niki and Dona, you are amazing! Thank you for the great times and memories. This video brought a thousand flashbacks - you are family! It’s a complete shame that you were not included as part of the celebration!!! - thanks BoyCulture for sharing it, this is now a classic!
Absolutely Love You Both!💖I wasn't expecting this!😲It's s one of my favorites of your beautiful harmonys together!👌😁Thank you for always touching our Souls and Hearts so deeply! ✌💖🙏🍾🎆💖
The 2 of you sound so wonderful. If you come to California I'm there! Thankyou so much for all your year's of dancing and singing. Its so appreciated! We haven't forgotten you!❤
It’s a shame that Madonna hasn’t included them on this new tour, they played a Huge part on her successful career, cmon Madonna it’s never too late to be grateful to those who helped you achieve the top, that was a perfect collaboration that should continue.
@@martinb74 Oh, please. People are reading way WAY too much into this. She has spoken on this tour about the Gilroy brothers, the woman who nursed her to health, her kids and others who helped her be who she is. She's plenty grateful. I think there is an insatiable desire to make Madonna do everything fans want or else. I would rather accept the brilliant and heartfelt tour, and also honor Niki & Donna. This ain't "Real Housewives of Express Yourself"! ;0)
Your comment is so far off. Her whole tour has been about gratitude to her fans, she called out the Gilroys, she called out the nurse who saved her, she is working again with Stuart Price. It's bizarre to decide she's ungrateful because at 1 show, with her nurse who helped her LIVE in the crowd, she did not shout out D&N. It would be nice to see them together, but let's not go overboard.
Stunning! Guess how could this have sounded if they played together with M on The Celebration Tour! I really hope she will host them on stage during one of the US upcoming shows..!
Exactly.. imagine if they came out with her during nothing really matters on the circular platform in like a variation of Madonna's kimono...2 things I'd change with this tour.. add Donna n Nikki and a live band... sonically i think just using playback sounds week...too much bass
OMG! Sensational! 🎶 Fabulous that Nicki & Donna are enjoying time in the spotlight again! They deserve it & I hope Madonna is happy for them too, in all that they are bringing back! 👍😀👍- This is great!
This was soooo good!!! Madonna’s Tour could use a big beautiful dose of these 2!!! They always brought Madonna to another level!!! So much soul & energy!!! 😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Legendary!!!Thank you for their hard work and contribution to the sound of Madonna, they have done a lot for this.I would like to hope that they will sing all together again!❤
So at the end it's all about "that person named Madonna", right shady Nikki??? By the way, you can think you've got the voice but Madonna sings this better, no matter how many changes y'all try to do to the song. If you only care abt jazz, why you're not singing it? I am so disappointed with Niki. Her lil' diva attitude doesn't sits well with me. She acts like she is all that... but no sister, you missed the mark. Love you Donna, although at the end of NRM you know you went off key. Guess those "easy songs" aren't so easy at all. Gob bless you.
Saw this on RU-vid and I'm like, Gotta See these ladies sing when they come to Boston! Just my luck, cause I baught a ticket and I'm seeing them tonight at the City Winery in Boston! No, they didn't join Madonna on her latest tour, but I guess it's time for Niki and Donna to get out from under the shadows to do their own shows. I highly recommend any Madonna fan to go see them.
These vocals are on fire! 🔥. God bless you, ladies. You got me through some hard times when I was young. I saw you on the Who’s that Girl tour (via a tape because I was too young to go) but when you busted out at Blond Ambition as Madonna’s ladies in waiting, so to speak - holy shit. I’ve never seen such a powerful trio of women. ❤️❤️❤️
These were amazing when they toured with Madonna. There had never been anybody like the three of them when they were together. However I don’t think it will happen again. Didn’t Niki talk some crap about Madonna back in the day? Now I’m sure it’s all forgotten about but Madonna seems to be a person of loyalty with her friends. She gets enough crap from the public without people she considers friends. So as much as I love these two and nothing will ever come close to the three of them on stage. I’m also not too bothered about them ever getting back together. I doubt it will happen.
Funny story. A few years back Donna and Nikki came to the desert to perform with my dear friend and roommate at the time at her church. I offered her up my room for her. My friend had been in the music business since the 70s, and toured with bands you would know. I decided to leave my 200 year old antique banjo clock running on the wall, not thinking the sound of the ticking would bother her. I came home the next day to the clock having bee stopped. 😂 She told my roommate that she had one of them herself at home, loved the design, and knew exactly what to do with regards to opening the bottom glass box door and stopping the pendulum. Mad respect for this girl.
I worked with Nikki back when Erotica was released doing some photography for her.. She was down to earth and nice then, as she still seems to be. I would love to see these two do an album and make some money. They still sound great. Madonna may still have had the huge success that she enjoys now. But she was definitely standing on the shoulders of these two women for a period. They were pros and worked hard for her. Unlike some of her dancers at the time, they were the two people that didn't seem to be using Madonna.
