I love your t-shirt. R.I.P. to Bernard Cribbins who plays Donna's grandad, Wilf who recently passed away. He was a late addition to this season when the actor who played Donna's father in The Runaway Bride died of cancer shortly after starting filming this story. I think you'll find Cribbins' magical performance a gift that keeps on giving.
Omg!!! I CANNOT wait for you to finish this season, Donna is my #1 hands down. This is my favorite season. The fact that even from The Runaway Bride episode, you loved the chemistry and wanted to see more Doctor and Donna tales makes me so excited for you to see them in action.
Yay! My favourite companion joins my Doctor! The scene where they first see each other is still a favourite of mine! And also, the adipose are too cute!
Welcome to my very favourite series with my very favourite companion. I relate to Donna much more than I ever did to Rose or Martha. I remember the Classic series, and my favourite combination was Tom Baker and Elizabeth Sladen - up until this series! In the preview tapes they sent out, they used a different blonde actress in that scene, so that the shock of seeing Rose couldn't possibly be spoiled. Did you recognise Donna's Grandad? He was the newspaper seller in the Christmas special, when the Doctor took Astrid down to visit Earth.
When this series was first bering promoted by the BBC, they sent out a preview of the first episode (as they normally do) to all the reviewers to help stimulate the publicity ahead of the new series. But the preview episode sent out did not contain the Rose moment. So the first time anyone knew anything about it was when it first aired on the BBC. It was a really cool moment as no-one had any warning that it was coming.
There's something so.... cool.... about watching someone react to something I saw.... fourteen years ago. I love that it's still having the same effect on people now. :D
Season 4 is the best season by a mile in my opinion. I love the fact that Donna has returned once already and is also due to return for the specials with David Tennant. I think doctor who has a bright future again with RTD at the helm 😍
You are so passionate lol. I need to go back to see some earlier episodes to see how you reacted. Rose is the best companion of all time. Rose and the Doctor breaks my heart but I love them
my favorite companion was never in question. Sarah Jane Smith. ( RIP Liz Sladen ❤) But Donna noble is right up there to me. We don’t remember now because it seems crazy but there were tons of David Tennant haters on the Internet when his doctor was just getting started. He’s too young, He’s too manic they said. And they were even more Catherine Tate haters. She’s a low humor comedian some said. she doesn’t belong on the show. This series of the show kind of put a stop to most of that talk. In a show full of awesome Seasons this one stands out. I’m so glad we have entered this era together Jay!
Katherine Tate (Donna) is one of our finest comedy actresses. This season will smile, cry, laugh out loud and hide behind cushions. P.s David Tennant will be back as the Doctor in 2023 for 4 episodes of Dr Who for the 60th anniversary before the new Doctor takes over, (Donna too!) enjoy 😄 who knows maybe Rose as well!
I always mean to come back to this series and always forget until it pops up on my fyp. But the genuine not I have at being a whole series to enjoy is worth the delay
Hello. Just got this in my recommended. I really like your energy and I enjoyed the video quite a lot! You've earned a sub, can't wait to see your next Doctor Who reactions!
There are many opinions about who was the best DH companion, over the decades... But there is no doubt whatsoever which one was the funniest! Donna rules!
I'm not sure if you are watching "The Sara Jane Adventures" on your own. There is an important episode called "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith" that technically happens before the Doctor Who season 4 premiere. I encourage you to watch it and it's second part. There is a slight continuation of that story that happens deep into Doctor Who's 4th season involving Donna that changes everything.
To whoever has watched this the first time, we all have to admit that the Rose appearance caught us all off guard by far. One of the best things of Season 4.
I kinda disagree, really feels like rose totally overshadows donna. I do kinda wish Russel could let go of rose because that plot line really dragged on for awhile.
@@cyberdalek615 well no, not really. I'm not a fan of how martha was utilised but the whole point is she's a rebound. So rose is supposed to be somewhat present. I did say that overall Russel couldn't get over rose, but mentioning her is very different from constantly teasing her return and thus not focusing on the chemistry between the two main charecters of the season.
@@carrinanorth4224 I get that, but maybe I just feel that way as I’m not a fan of Rose (at least starting during Series 2, as she was good with 9). I could say why but that may or may not bring out possible future spoilers so I won’t for now. At least not here
Donna is my favorite companion edit: Also, the scene where they are miming through the door and window, they were allowed to just improvise the whole thing. They just wanted to see Catherine bring her form of comedy to Doctor Who. It was brilliant.
Martha was amazing but with Donna you are in for some of the greatest DW storylines in my opinion. I hope you bring this season in fairly quickly and frequently. That glimpse of rose is a little taster of the epic'ness that is the Donna's run with the doctor. This put me in the mood to go back and watch it all again.
The question of who is YOUR favorite companion will be an ongoing struggle because they've had some excellent companions on the show - going all the way back to the beginning in the 1960s. Personally, I'm in a non-Donna 3-way tie, but Donna gets higher in my list every time I see her episodes. I'm learning to enjoy her funny side, but I have to admit she cuts to the heart of a situation quickly, and her judgment is usually correct. She's exactly who the Doctor needed at this point in his life to help him heal - a fantastic friend. And Rose! Look for Rose to pop up in many episodes for the next while because what would the show be without a season long mystery arc, right? And Donna will be right there to help, so strap in!
So fun fact: adipose insistries is actually an office building right next to a premier Inn in Cardiff. I remember rewatching this, going outside for a cigarette and looking right at the red chimney things I'd just seen. The weirdest experience of my life genuinely
The fact that 10 and Donna are both like “Fornication? With them? No thanks!” is a welcome change. This is just two friends, travelling in the universe, because they want to see it and have fun.
Love Rose, love her relationship with the Doctor. Love Martha, once she stopped pining after him, she stepped up in a big way. But no one. No one (for me) holds a candle to Donna. She is the best companion ever. I just started a Doctor Who rewatch a few weeks ago and I’m right smack in the middle of Donna’s run. I actually slowed my watching down a bit to savor the moment. Donna and Doctor are true friends, with unmatched chemistry, that goes deeper BECAUSE there is no romantic element to it. True true true friendship and “brotherly” love for each other. (Also, that shock of seeing Rose STILL hits me, and I’ve seen it a dozen times)
Catherine Tate and David Tennant play off each other so well. You should watch some interviews with the two of them. They've got real life chemistry. They also did a Shakespeare play together (Much Ado About Nothing), which I highly recommend.
Great reactions man but a quick suggestion you probably gonna wanna watch at least the first 3 episodes of the Sarah Jane Adventures as it ends up connecting back to this season I won't spoil how though
I hadn't heard of the SJA, or Torchwood, until this series, so I had no idea what was going on - we saw Captain Jack and Sarah Jane in DW, but I had to Google to find out about the spinoffs and catch up with them. Watching Series 4 again makes a lot more sense now!
@@franl155 yeah I thought I'd give the suggestion because of this, since I was a kid at the time I saw the Sarah Jane Adventures regularly but had no idea about Torchwood so "Those Scenes" made no sense to me.
I have been soo excited for you to get to series 4. It is one of my absolute favourite series of Doctor Who. I don’t think that you’re ready for the climax of the series!!!
If you love Martha and you didn't know, there is an animated ep of Doctor Who with Ten and Martha called The Infinite Quest. It's short and fun! You should definitely check it out bud. :) That being said, I love this episode!
I have to point it out because its just so cute! Donna could have chosen any place and time in the entire universe as her first stop. But she chose home to show her Grandpa the Tardis because she knew he loves space.
I found your channel yesterday and am all caught up with doc who now 😂 will just say, so looking forward to your reaction to certain things in the future, since you seem to have actual good / genuine reactions.
