Donna's SWEET "Hearts and Pinwheels" FREE PATTERN Quilt tutorial! 

Awww 😊 Donna I have been looking for something with a heart. This is perfect with the pinwheel design. My daddy passed away and mother gave me all of his cotton button down shirts. This is what I am going to make. Thank you ☺️ so very much. 💕

The plain squares placed between the hearts and pinwheels really balance the overall design and make a nice background. What a lovely keepsake for a young child, one that can be enjoyed for years.

I always come away feeling like I, too, can make that quilt; and, also, encouraged to have fun, just.give this quilt a try! Each time I have found it intriguing to see how you are able to foresee any possible disappointments arising and quickly make adjustments, when needed. In this tutorial, I wholeheartedly appreciated the change made to avoid having the quilt's end result looking too busy by exchanging some blocks with the background blocks with a pattern meant to coordinate and recede; thereby, reducing the competition between blocks. The overall aesthetic is so pleasing and was made perfect with the use of the darker red pattern used as the outside border. Just loved the whole tutorial in how to use such a lovely pattern design, pair it with a collection of beautifully coordinated but different fabrics, and construct a quilt that achieves the best result. 🥰🙆‍♀️🏆💖 I

You are hands-down my favorite RU-vid quilter. The reasons are innumerable. Thank you for everything you and Matt do. Request? A rag quilt. I've tried to watch others' tutorials and they just aren't you. It doesn't have to be big; I'm only looking for the basics and tips/tricks that you do so well. If you're unfamiliar or uncomfortable with it, I'm ok with a little leg work through internet research. No biggie. Your tutorials give me the confidence to quilt just about anything...when I finally suck it up and buy everything I need to do so.

I understand not wanting the quilting pattern to compete with the piecing on the quilt, but I love being able to see the quilting. Most of the time when you show the thread options for quilting, a thread that blends usually is the winner, but I was very pleased this time when you chose the blue. I loved the quilt. It is adorable. 🙂

I love this quilt, the pattern is so sweet I am making it for my baby that should be born in the next few weeks. The finished size is ideal for a crib or toddler bed. The plain blocks are going to be fussy cut baby animals, and the hearts and pinwheels are complimentary fabrics, I am so excited to see how it turns out! THANKS so much!!!

I really like the color combination, it is so cheery. The backing is just plain adorable! Too many people use all dark, drab colors in their quilts. It makes me wonder if their home decor is also dark n dreary. But u always pick such cheery colors. It shouts "I'm happy!" From Lisa
