As I listen as a 56 year old, I'm as mesmerised by this track as when I first heard it as a 15 year old in the summer of '77. Truly a masterpiece that will stand the test of time for eternity...
That underlying synthesizer rhythm, played at the lowest octave, is and will always be, the greatest progression of sounds I have ever heard. Nothing pleases me more than hearing that on a loop
Doesn't sound the least bit dated, like so many old disco hits...so far ahead of it's time and better than 99% of dance music today. This song would still send people on the dance floor into a frenzy.
Oh my Gosh I though he was german, I didn't really realised that he was italian because usually italians deejays aren't so good , they don't have the international ability of mixing the songs , there are a very few percentage . Is not a criticism, is a cultural aspect : Italians tend to be conservative ... Anyway thanks God that Giorgio Moroder is an extraordinary exception ! Siamo noi siamo noi i campioni dell'Europa siamo noi....
An incredible song. Hypnotic. Transports you to another time. Classic and timeless. This version is the best. You never want it to end. You simply want to start it over and begin the journey again.
Grorgiou Moroder should have been knighted back then. I am posting this comment in 2022.He was way ahead of his competitors by over 20 years and I understand he celebrated his 82nd birthday in 2022...Atrue living legend...hope he or his agents reads my post and pass on my comment to the legend...
The story behind the making of this musical masterpiece is incredible. The problems they had in the studio, and trying to keep the Moog tuned, were some of the hurdles they faced. Still a very awesome tune to this day. A timeless classic, no doubt!
Disco Perfection July 1977, Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Pete Belotte. Feels like yesterday when I heard the first time. Everyone was blasting this in all the clubs, homes, Hi-Fi stereos. I can still see the speaker diaphragms popping in and out to the bass rhythm.
Genius of a song and way ahead of its time. Never gets old. Still to this day, I hear it and it gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day. And the synth work is timeless!
I get Telstar by The Tornados stuck in my head at work lately. I've gotten terrible TERIBBLE songs stuck in my head in the past,Like "Sea of Love" for example. This song though, yeah,it goes to a friday night, all revved up,ready to go out and let loose !
Danielle, you'd probably like "Metropolis" by Kraftwerk, they made that track not too long after Giorgio did "I feel love" with Donna :) (it's a little more industrial sounding but it's got that similar groove)
Actually this music is a turn in point of entire pop music. This rhythm have created a new format. Never before a music have this so high frequency...in the bit...which today has dominate the techno. At the time the stereo effect was amazing, the electronic bits surrounding from one side to another ....that created shiver...this music exploded the disco music concept....it was so cool...only for cool people. The girls at time asked me crazy: What the hell is this fuck beauty sound??
Whoo! I remember being 10 years old and going into a Radio Shack with this blasting. It hit me and affected me for life. A lot of the New Wavers I liked later gave credit to this song and also Our Love for New Order. Expanded music definitely.
+David Forsyth I think I was 19 or 20 and went into Pacific Stereo in San Luis Obispo CA with this blasting and shaking the windows! It was amazing. Still is.
Without Giorgio Moroder, Donna Summer was still singing 'church gospel' and maybe 'jazz'. She may be called the Disco Queen, but she all had to thank Giorgio Moroder for it. He made her shine.
Perfection. The song and Donna Summer. God smiled down upon her when she was born and blessed her with the most beautiful and perfect voice. A blessing for all of us here on earth, to hear her sing.
Giorgio and Kraftwerk opend a door in to a new universe for me. They brought me to synthesizers, drum computers and samplers. I am glad i have this hobby and i can collect them. Analog and digital machines forever. Hardware forever! Make music not war! Peace to all !
R.I.P. Donna, grande artista, l'unica ,vera e grande regina della discomusic anni '70 -'80 , che ha formato una coppia imbattibile ,insieme al grande genio di Giorgio Moroder
My disco queen. Bless with manyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy of beautiful beloved tracks. Wepaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Boricua 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷💃🎶💃🎶💃🇺🇸🙏🏻.
A song well ahead of its time. It still shakes one in restaurants and clubs the world over even after 40 years. And this is the best version available in youtube today.
giorgio moroder , un homme en avance sur son temps ! merci pour tes morceaux qu'on continu de mixer et remixer partout dans les soirées et les clubs . bravo l'artiste .
1977 was a great year for music: David Bowie - Low; AC/DC - Let There Be Rock; Eric Clapton - Slowhand; Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True; Ian Dury - New Boots And Panties!!; Electric Light Orchestra - Out Of The Blue; Fleetwood Mac - Rumours; Iggy Pop - Lust For Life; Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols; Talking Heads: 77; David Bowie - Heroes. Many of these albums are indicating a techtonic shift. And, then there was this amazing out of this world hit: I Feel Love by Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder
Her voice always gives me goosebumps. And brings tears of joy to my eyes. Rest in peace Donna. Amen. The world truly feels empty without her. The angels are blessed by her presence and us mere mortals here on earth are blessed by the beautiful music and memories of her God-given voice she left behind for us. What a blessing for us. Thank you Donna. And thank you Giorgio Moroder for immortalizing her so well.
The good one is that we all will see the Diva in the next lifetime. She was truly a Wonder Woman in terms of her character and musical talent that will never be matched in our lifetime.
