Donny IS THE GOAT. PERIOD ❤ I have been trying to compare his voice to just one person's voice. The voice that comes close is Lalah Hathaway. That's DNA. This guy name Smoth?? or PJ Morton can sing his songs.. I would love to see a video of Donny singing WE NEED YOU NOW.....

Donny is so amazing. One of the greatest voices ever. The first time I heard The Ghetto I was completely blown away by the melody, his voice, the grooves. One of the best songs I've ever heard, and certainly the best bassline. It still drives me nuts every time I hear it, a surefire Number 1, shoul'dve won a grammy. The live 12 minute version is also absolutely ELECTRIFYING. Such a shame there's not alot of footage of Donny, and he isn't as well known as many of his soul peers, like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder etc (both deserving). He deserves more recognition as a singer, songwriter and musician. It's so sad he died so young. He was a sensitive, talented, special soul. Bless him. Love from Australia x

Donny had such a distinctive voice. He will never be duplicated in the industry.

A song for you, written by Leon Russell and covered by the Temptations is perhaps MR. Hathaway's best piece of music in my opinion. If you listen to the Temptations' version, it sounds like a man singing about a woman. In MR. Hathaway's version, he is clearly singing to God. It's curious to me, that the same song can be so different. MR. Hathaway's version will almost bring tears to a grown man's eyes! Give it a listen.

From the first time I heard Donny when my Dad bought home his albums in the early 70's even though I was a young teenager I was instanlty moved and hooked and just when he was in his prime heatbroken at his loss.. His Live Album to me, is the greatest live album ever... Forever missed The Great Donny Hathaway..

I definitely put Earl up there with Master Henry Gibson badass percussions Donny Hathaway man wow this is a classic I never even knew this footage existed I remember my dad bought this album when I was a kid back in the 70s man I wish I could go back to that era!

I never minded musicians of all colors and genres working together. Color doesn’t matter, the rhythm does. Like Donny jamming with a white, playing our African Congo message. Beautiful!
