Thank you Samuel. He was one tough cookie. I enjoyed the fight but I tell you I could NOT move for a few days after. It was the most physical fight of my career for sure...
True probably but still had lots left to have fun with. My crushed larynx from the Leonard fight made post fight 100% “put it on the line” more difficult
Really good fight. I never knew they fought each other. I've only seen LaLonde against Leonard. LaLonde had skills. Hamsho was a strong, very tough fighter.
Hamsho was more of a brawling dirty fighter , but Marvin Hagler taught him a good lesson twice ... I believe that in the first fight Hagler beat his face so bad that Hamsho needed 50 stitches
I can say from experience that when you have shoulder surgery on your left side, you cannot get back the snap in the jab and power is lost from the left hook no matter how much rehab is done. Surgery years ago, was very iffy compared to today. LaLonde certainly couldn't do much with his left hand.
Referee Arthur Mercante didn't do his job well. More points should've been taken away from Hamsho and a disqualification in the 11th round. 118-108 was a fair score with Lalonde winning.
Who was the interviewer of Czyz? I believe this interviewer used to host a live boxing TV show on FNN Score during the late 80s. I know it was live because I used to call in with comments and they put me on the air more than a couple of times.
