Hi Ben, Good and honest review on the Evolution battery saw and accessories. Looks a good set up and Evolution tools are good for the money, I like the track system by joining two tracks together with a cam lock system. Great video, catch you soon, take care

Thanks mate, it’s a good system for sure. I just hope they bring out a plunge saw version at some point.

That gauge for angle cutting. Is it accurate? What do we do with the old kit, throw it away? What about an updating set from Evolution? What do the 'Big Brands' not want us to know? It's always nice to be sponsored by a manufacturer so you can always use the latest stuff but do remember that us poor dudes have to go out and buy it!

Hi mate, so I’ve answered the questions below for you: - The track square doesn’t work for angled cutting. You’d need to mark your line and then clamp the track to the wood to make an angled cut. - I’d sell the old kit if I bought a new one. That’s what I’ve done in the past and there’s always someone out there who will buy it. - the big brands don’t want you to know that brands like evolution have made a much more affordable track that fits all their saws for a fraction of the cost of their own brand tracks. - it is definitely a perk being able to get free equipment and trust me when I say that I’ve bought my fair share of cheap and second hand tools. I bought my evolution rage 5s table saw brand new when I got more into my woodworking and got everything else second hand from Facebook so I can relate. That’s why I always try and get discount codes for my viewers. Remember, there’s no rush to get the latest thing and you should never feel the pressure to keep up with people like me who gets stuff for free. I’m just here to show you what it’s like so if you do buy it you can hopefully make an informed decision. I hope this helps mate.

I bought into the evolution r185ccsx (the corded one) because I liked the idea of a single saw you can use on and off tracks. But I came to be quite disappointed with it. In particular, I find getting it on the track without dislodging the splinter guard quite difficult - you have to remember to pull back the blade guard, and, well, I never did. Plus, the dust collection is... Non-existent! As you observe, it just goes everywhere because of the open side. I managed to pick up the parkside tracksaw from lidl, and I love it. In particular, I like that it feels safer because you can put it down flat on its sole immediately after cutting. Plus, ofc, you don't have the issue with the splinter guard. I still use the evolution saw for non-track stuff, it's not a bad saw, just I think the track-ness isn't great. I'm quite tempted by some of those new track joining strips though!

Yeah I definitely agree that it would be good if evolution could make a plunge saw to go with these tracks as plunge saws are so nice to use. The tracks are fantastic and I’ve been told they do work with the parkside saws though. 💪

Evolution track also works with my Parkside tracksaw. Hey, if Arnie is the face of Parkside, it _must_ be good.

Nice video mate. I picked up this new track few weeks ago to go with the cordless Bosch plunge saw i have which in itself is amazing but they wanted 120 quid for a 1.1m track so when this came at 2 1.4s for hundred jumped on it. My issue would be same as you though will wonder how long the clamps will last 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

@lionandbear 27 дней назад
Good to hear mate. I reckon the clamps are loads better than the old ones. I literally bent the old ones the first time I tightened them up. These ones seem much more solid to be fair. Just a bit of a faff tightening them and loosening them each time.

Good review of the saw and the new track system. I have the old Evolution track which I bought on a deal with the clamps and the bag for just shy of £70. The track works perfectly with my Makita plunge saw, but does not accept the BenchdogsUK railsquare, or the TSO. I've never been a fan of the connectors that came with either track system as they don't hold the tracks together very well, and the grub scews tend to fall out with vibration. That said, I just couldn't realistically store or transport the Makita 3m track. I'm guessing the cam system helps in this department, and holds the track straight and firmly. £80 with the discount...Might be tempted.

Thanks mate. The connector bars are really easy to use and have held up well for me. The whole track and connector bars are definitely loads more solid than the old ones for sure. I was looking at a track square from some brand I’d found on instagram prior to these coming out so I’m pleased I waited in the end. The hose guide is a stroke of genius and so simple too.

@@lionandbear Aye Yer no wrong there! I was told not to buy any tool until I NEEDED it to complete a project. So, ATM, I don't NEED a new circular saw, or track, no matter how many plunge/circular saws it fits, so there's that too. TC&SS.

Loads of small accessories can be made on a 3D printer and not pay loads of money to only have logo on it.
@lionandbear
@lionandbear 26 дней назад
That’s a fair point but I don’t have a 3D printer for one and I also think these accessories are a reasonable price to be fair.

STOP WITH THE "BIG SECRET BULLSHIT"
@lionandbear
@lionandbear 26 дней назад
Thanks for your kind words. I think the fact that brands like Festool are charging £120 for a single 1.4m track or Bosch are charging £170 for 2 x 1.4m tracks with a connector and carry case when you can get a pack from Evolution with 2 x 1.4m tracks, connector rails, carry bag AND clamps for £100 (plus the free hose channel with my code) that is just as good would be a secret worth telling. There’s a lot of people out there who have track saws who may not realise that you can buy tracks from other brands that are compatible.

Yea sorry but festool is the only one to go for everything else is waist of money. Have my festool since 2011 tried to replace it with dewalts it's just aint as good
@lionandbear

You’re probably right for the saw. If you can afford it then I’m sure it’s the best but what about the tracks? Surely they can’t be worth so much more money?
