A big misinformation here I have to correct. You said at the beginning that Noone is going to send you a figure in a flatpack outside the box unless it was fake. That's completely untrue. Japan does ship authentic figures in flatpacks from amazon and ebay and other places you buy from individual sellers or small seller companies. The reason for this is to reduce the huge shipping costs for them. They always usually put in the description that they will open the brand new figures and ship them without the boxes or they will ship them in flat by taking the figure from the boxes and flattening out the boxes and ship them to you like that. Tons of sellers from japan do it that way so you get flatpacks so you have to make sure you read the description carefully if you don't want that. If the figure is coming whole with box expect the shipping of figure price to reflect it often. So authentic figure do come in flatpacks depending who from japan you buy from. But if its from a big company or something like AmiAmi or whatever then of course you'll get normal boxes unopened. Sorry had to correct your misinformation there because you could cause japanese sellers a ton of problems saying that. But for the rest yeah just look at the box and figure and you can see its fake.

I do buy bootlegs from wish but, I do like to customize them and rather spend $5 then $500 on a piece if I mess up. This is a good list on things to look out for when buying too.

Yeah if got the time to do customisation they work very well, and as you say if they mess up you don't feel to bad about it, plenty of uses for these :)

I got a bootleg one. But I think it's fine because it looks almost exactly as the original product plus it's also my first time collecting these kind of stuffs, so I have very little knowledge about original and bootleg ones but atleast I'm happy with it :> Thank you for this video btw. :>

Agreed, some people don't see this and hate fakes but not everyone has lots of money spare to spend so these things are great for that 😊

@@TwistedGeek It has something to do with fakes knocking legit sellers out of the playground. We just had to close our anime shop due to a fake shop opening near us and people do not know the difference. They just see he is just a couple bucks cheaper than us. He can buy his figure from Ali Express for 3 dollars and sell for 25. We buy ours for 18 to sell for 28 to 30. We can not compete with him. Another reason it is hated is they steal molds and art from original artists. People who spend a lot of time creating this will not get credit for their time. The last reason is the material they use. It is not regulated. Many cases of lead and other toxic materials have been found in items from these mass-producing sweatshops.

I think my mom accidentally bought a bootleg tanjiro for me for Christmas she got it from one of those little stands in malls and stuff but she doesn't know much about this kind of stuff so it makes sense

Not 100% true, it is still a scam if it is advertised as a real one, or that you cannot tell the different from the post/listing of the product, or it doesn't say something like unofficial figure

Do you know why some boxes have the sticker of authenticity while some don't? I just bought a Tsunade figure from the Naruto Gals series made by Megahouse at a convention and mine doesn't have 1. It irks me some that it doesn't. It looks exactly as it should be, just no sticker. Am I worrying for nothing? The quality of her figure is perfect and would be too noticeable to be a bootleg, for I've bought some before. The bench she sits on has the watermark at least. So it's always puzzled me how some do and some don't.

From my experience it can change from prize figure to prize figure, they don't all have them, but it looks like you have checked everything else so I wouldn't worry, it is the same with mine some have them some dont

how can I spot fake ones from websites? because you will only see the box once you actually order it. I know that ebay aliexpress are sketchy, and there are official websites for them, but what about amazon? because I think it has amixof both, so its kinda hard to sport it right away

Amazon market place can definitely be more difficult due to the image show not always representing the item that market place seller is offering. The main advice here is if it appears to good to be true price wise then it more than likely is. Good thing about amazon though is very good returns policy. I agree it's harder to see until you see how it turns up. But I would go by price, if it is from official sellers (like amazon checknit is supplied by amazon and not just distributed by amazon) When you can always use something like PayPal or credit card as well for extra protection Facebook market place I would suggest asked more.photos with a time / date card as well Hope that helps :)

You forgot to add that authentic figures got copyright on the figure and that not all boxes got stickers from manufacturers as it may be because of the country's regulations.

from where I came from we ordered figure from Japan but we fold the box to get more space and more figure on the delivery box

Yeah alot of seller from japan take the figures out of the box and flatten the boxes out and ship them like that or just don't send the boxes at all. Big misinformation on his part because people might think they got fakes and cause alot of japanese sellers issues and have to deal with returns or paranoid customers when the item is infact real. It affects alot of individual sellers and small companies on amazon, ebay, and so on who sell and ship figures with flatboxes. But from this box he got in this video its a very obvious fake of course.

Here's what it says: Actual size, color, style and decoration may very but it's still weird because the color is different if you google on the internet you get two different versions. One with purple outfit and one pale figure in brown outfit. find it peculiar. 🤔

Yeah do have to be careful with amazon as just because it may say despatched by amazon it can still be items supplied by a different seller that amazon just ships out for them for a fee. Luckily amazon is good and quick at sorting refunds

Yeah it is unfortunate I just wish they at least said non official somewhere in the description etc just to help people out, I think people would still buy them if they don't have funds for official ones but it would be nice to know in advance if they are official.or not, as not everyone can see the difference

They are 90% similar . There is no requirement to watch even the slightest details

90% similar but still 100% fake and helpful to know the difference. People care a lot about their collections and knowing the legitimacy of the items can play a big part for some, not all but some, and is why I create videos like this to help people out so they know the difference :)
