They don't compare the drawings, for your information. Hers was outstanding for her age group. Don't say that hers was awful because it wasn't. I am so happy google is doing this. Good job McKenzie!
Everyone who commented on this video thought it was all about design. What they failed to realize were the tones that the drawings delivered. I believe Makenzie's drawing fit the tone that Google wanted. Yes, everyone else did a fantastic job (don't get me wrong), but the winning piece defined Google. Excellent job, Makenzie.
@Cheejyg - Millions and millions of people use google in a single day, it's actually pretty good. Not to mention that "she received a $15,000 college scholarship, a netbook computer and a $25,000 technology grant for a new computer lab at her school" also.
@victoriaanoza McKenzie's drawing was outstanding for her age group and it is googles choice to decide the winner and I am sure that they have great reasons on why they picked McKenzie's drawing.
google should not care how old someone is. in society, it's either have skill or don't have skill. the other entries were much more skilled than the winning one and they should have picked one of those
Sweet, so with my FABULOUS artistic skills, (on par with Mackenzie's) I can win EVERY contest like this with Google. Never mind the actual art and stylized drawings the other people entered, I'll do it in' fuckin' Crayola and macaroni noodles. First place, here I come!
This is a great idea to release the creativity and imagination embedded in kids from as young as 2 years.how can kids in villages, urban slums, around the world, creating and imagining, have a chance to participate in the world of wonders stem clubs for kids is a website which speaks to this idea of relasing creativity and imagination in kids around the world as kidsinscience groupsite - we would like to share some ideas with you and share doodle4google concept with them
@lindahearmerawr1 looked the most kid friendly of all the finalists. i think since 2010 was *probably* the year event was getting well-known compared to previous years they wanted to pick a design that emphasized that it's about kids. It needed a message in 2010 if my theory is right & it can still look good but not as good as others if the message gets across other 7 years olds must be really talented b/c i don't think i can even draw as good as Mckenzie & i'm a graduating hi school senior
They always pick the little kids, even though some others were clearly superior. No offense McKenzie, but if I WERE to pick a little kid, the first winner announced (Raymond) was much better.
@selinaskater Here's some advice for what you could do for an idea. Take a look at some of Dennis Hwang's Google drawings. The theme this year is "What I'd like to be Someday". My entry is called,"Become a Science Advocate" because science plays an important role in our society and I want to show people that science is what we depend on every moment and have people focus on it. Think of something that you want to do and how it could change a lot of things.
@NightTG09 Not to be picky, but the last war America won was the Gulf War. We accomplished all of the goals we set out to do. The battles following that are still going on so...yeah we have "lost" some, but WW2 was definitely not the last war we won.
I'm sorry, but I can never seem to agree with the final winner for this contest, I've seen plenty of ones for the last three competitions that are much better than that one Mackenzie did, sorry but they are. Do they pick the winner based on how cute the kid is or something?
Wow. Those judges did HORRIBLY this year. The regional winner of region 1 shouldn't have made it, it looks like she took an actual PHOTO of her doodle with a real pen, pencil and eraser on top of it. If not that, she photoshopped them in. In other words, she didn't create those things. It isn't fair. Plus, about 75% of all of those state winners had to have SOMETHING about enviromentalism in them. "feed the world" "save the forest". I also see alot of "my world is my canvas". This is rigged.
Why IS IT that they pick the younger ones? even though the older ones are...better in ways. I was considering trying this out next year, but since Im on the older side (going into 12th grade) I dont see why, I might just go to the place and they'll be like (oh 7th through 12 or whatever, you won [if anything]) and some little kid (really, there are some better than hers) will win because they're young. :/
@nequillim hmm what an accomplishment it is to talk about it...why don't you go become a failed graphic designer then when one of the talented children who haven't even fully developed their skills yet will kick your ass at designing a logo
That doodle sucked! i think a lot of the others were much bettr. the othr kids worked hard too and the person with the best shud win. it wud be fair if there was more than 1 winner. i entered the contest this year, and didnt make it but i really hope that mine wasn't chosen for a good reason, and not just because they wanted some little girl to win. they should at least a have a different winner for each category of age. its totally unfair. hope someone who actually deserves to win, wins this 1.
