My doodle is 8 and I've given her every cut. Which means I've watched a LOT of doodle grooming videos and I think this just might be the best one I've seen. Thanks!
There is so much to learn from this video. This is an intensive instructive video that explains not only the anatomy of the dog… the how’s and why’s to achieve a well groomed dog! The grooming on this dog is impressive! It is very difficult to find a groomer this good! I have 2 Standard golden doodles and 1 mini. When I read other comments that say they wish they had a groomer this good, I can only agree!
This is absolutely the best doodle grooming video that I have seen. I love how you explain to be careful of their joints and why for us that are trying to groom our dogs ourselves. I have a Giant Schnoodle and I have been working with her everyday so she will be good during grooming. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
Imagining what the dog is feeling and doing things to communicate what you are about to do, and keeping in mind their comfort and joints and balance while doing it-- seriously spot on!! So many groomers aren't paying attention when I dog is trying to express that it's uncomfortable, or misunderstand it as the dog just "being bad". Not that they can't be stubborn, but our approach and attention to their comfort builds their confidence and trust. Coming in too quick, overextending, and not minding to what the dog is feeling or thinking are some of the most common reasons groomers struggle! I cannot say enough how much I appreciate these teachings! I wish every groomer could see these!
You make this look easy! I have watched this multiple times, and really love all all the useful tips/tricks you have shared. Would love to see more videos similar to this one with Helen, thanks for sharing!
Wow! You are amazing, she looks great, I love this cut. I have a poogle, beagle mini poodle mix,and am having the hardest time finding how to groom him. Learned a lot here. I’ve watch many many many videos.
I could not breathe at 33:45 when Molly turned around because that dog was barking. “Excuse me, I’m trying to make a video with my groomer, can you shut up please.”😂
I want to Thank you for this video. You are very talented and obviously very in tune with us Doodle owners! Which is such a breath of fresh air! I appreciate your attention to detail and your very caring nature. Keep up the good work! And what a good girl Molly is!!
I love your video I love all the details and how you describe exactly what you are doing, But I think this is still a bit advanced for me at the moment lol. I hope one day I get really good at using my sizers. Beautiful job thank you for this video. ❤❤❤❤
Best video I've seen. I am thrilled I found you and this video. I've been doing a lot of you-tubing hoping to learn grooming WITHOUT a total shave down and groomers complaining about matted dogs. Thank you more than you know.
I love how respectful you are to the dog and how you show the handling of them. I am learning a lot and practicing my grooming skills on my own doodle and Iv noticed a lot of these groomers on RU-vid are really “grabby.” They are pulling their legs and yelling at them and I’m thinking “ I hope my past groomers didn’t do all that to my poor sensitive goldendoddle! He’s such a nice dog and is really great with me, it’s like he wants to please me. Thanks for all the info! Is there a certain brand of rake you would recommend for a doodle?
I love everything you are saying! You pointed out some important things I think most groomers don’t pay attention to. What type of clippers & blades are you using?
This is a great video! I want clarification on the lengths used in the video. What guard comb set are you using? I know different guard comb sets vary. It starts at a 2comb, then you go down to a 4comb in areas which I'm assuming would be (1/4")? Then when you go in reverse you switch to a #1comb (1/2"). Which if you're going in reverse would be equivalent to the #4comb(1/4"). Wouldn't the #0comb reverse be equal to the #2comb with? I've always been taught when going in reverse to go 2 steps up in length. For example a #0 in reverse equals a #2. And a #1 in reverse equals a #4comb.
This is the same clarification that I was looking for as well. Also, if going in reverse with a #1 is the same as going forward with a #4, why not just use the #4 and not bother going in reverse? What is the purpose of going in reverse if you have the correct blade guard on hand? Especially since going in reverse can cause razor bumps or issues with the way the hair grows out in the future?
Yeah, I paused the video and went to comments just to see if anyone have noticed the girl yelling at the background. It's kinda disturbing actually.. I. Wish someone could tell us why she yelled like a lunatic
I have a Bernedoodle and she is curly now. Do you have any videos on how to groom. Also id love to find someone in my area with your talent. What questions do i ask to find someone with your skill level
I am planning to purchase new cordless clippers for my Doodle. I currently am using andis products. Do you have any experience with Andis portable clippers. What brand of clipper are you using in this video? I want to thank you for your detailed instructions, your voice is pleasant to listen to and you are very gentle with the dog.
Может быть вы и классная грумер но мне собаку жалко вы отлично все рассказываете но продолжайте стрич а то нужно слушать и вы ещё прерывание свою работу да и собака устает извините
Your instruction was incredibly good! Thank you for the carefully detailed explanations you gave. BUT…who was that lunatic woman in the background screaming “shut up” at the dogs that were barking? Holy shit! That was very distressing to listen to during your instruction.
LOVE your scissoring technique.. Jw why you are wearing a face diaper, while interacting with a canine? Cloth or any other masking will not inhibit or protect one against bacterial or viral particles. It would be great to view your tips & grooming techniques-with clear speech. Loose the mask.
Miriam Dorsha; You have a choice to watch something else! This is an intensive instructive video that explains not only the anatomy of the dog… the how’s and why’s to achieve a well groomed dog! The grooming on this dog impressive! It is very difficult to find a groomer this good!
My doodle is my first doodle and he’s 14 wks old. His dad is a toy Australian Shepherd and mom’s a toy poodle. His hair is straight/wavy w an undercoat 😮. What to do? -First time doodle guy Edit: Almost forgot; awesome instructional video ma’am
