Kristie, I recently watched your video on how/why you select the sketches you do from your blog. Thank you so much. I had an AhHa moment. I started pulling sketches from a 3 inch binder and putting them into 4 folders based on the general sizes of my paper I have to work with (my implementation of your info). Or I hunt for a sketch that has the size of my focal point/sentiment and make 4 or more of those cards. Once you explained it, it became very logical when I would pull from folder 1, 2, 3 or 4 for a sketch. And I invested in many cover dies that have squares, circles, or quilt blocks so I can really use up scraps at the tale end. You did a great job explaining it all.
So cute! I love that ghost with the bow on her head. As usual, you did a fabulous job with this collection. I’m sure the nursing home residents will love these.
Kristie, These are such adorable cards. All the residents are going to love them. You're a great asset to showing off Doodlebug paper & ephemera. I'm still hoping they'll put you on their design team one day. 😊
This collection is perfect for you! It’s cute and it’s pink 😂. Mr and Mrs Count Dracula is my favorite 😊. The cards with girl on the front reminds me of someone you know😉. Thanks so much for sharing 💕.
Love your cards and your videos! QUESTION: you always seems to have the perfectly matching coordinating cardstock for your layers….do you purchase matching cardstock when you purchase the patterned paper pads??? Is there a particular brand of plain colored cardstock that you use?
Her blog posts usually mention the brands of cardstock and color names for each video. I see a lot of Bazzil and Recollections. She has another video which i forget the name of or i would link you where she says she sometimes takes her 6x6 paper pads into the craft stores with her to match to cardstock! I actually just tried this a couple weeks ago and it was a life saver to finding the right color teal for a halloween pad that i had. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much! I own a TON of cardstock. But, if I don't have just the right color, I will take the paper pad to my local Joann's. They carry Bazzill, Darice, Coredinations brands. If I still can't find the right colors, I will sometimes just use white for the layers.
