It is the best for 1v1s, like Juyo or Vaapad. But then there's the rest, which are all good for many opponents. Makashi does not work well against 2 people. That's why Dooku threw Obi-Wan out of the fight in both the AOTC and ROTS duels between him, Anakin and Obi-Wan.
