@@s1lverbullet1234 I'm not really sure where you're getting that from. He'd have to play a step down to account for pitch distortion when speeding it up. He's fretting where he should be for what he's playing. What makes you say it's sped up?
@@katyakatsinskii847 You can actually quite easily smooth pitch distortion and fix it in post. I'm not certain, but I can't get over how unnaturally his fingers twitch up and down from the feet board, even if you were to move your finger that fast somehow, you'd still smack the strings too hard. I've seen this cover played by other people and you can clearly see the difference in their hands and fingers. He's simply twitching too fast, his fingers go too far, and his alternate picking spreads too far and yet changes direction at unnatural lighting speed. I could be wrong of course, but it doesn't look right to me, and even when people play faster songs their fingers and hands move with more weight.
@@s1lverbullet1234 I know you can adjust tempo without losing pitch these days but there are usually artifacts left over. You can hear it usually, it's not totally 100% seamless and often has a kind of warbly character to it. The cleanness of the sound makes me think it's real time. My first guitar teacher used to play very similarly to this fellow, I used to think it looked almost mechanical at first. With that in mind his fingering looks familiar to me. I can understand why you're saying what you're saying though. It looks a little odd if you've never seen anyone play that way.
It's funny because I can see Bobby Prince putting random notes regardless where and how you were supposed to play it, probably spending 1/10 of the time you need to figure it out on the actual guitar :D
Very likely cuz the game uses MUS (optimised MIDI basically) to store and play music, which only cares about pitches and doesn't give a crap about how the notes are arranged.
***** Jealous much lol. You pretty much said: "Who cares, he didn't write it, it doesn't look hard to play, but I'm impressed with his guitar and rig". What a jerk lol
This is the best version, period. Flawless clean execution, perfect sound/distortion choice, minimal yet interesting changes to the original score, no nonpurpose ornaments. It's a 10/10 for me. Many years and I still come from time to time to this version to get reference.
Best sound quality out of any cover, I would agree. But the fact that he ended the song where he did, completely cutting off the last part of the solo, takes some major points off imo.
This track is so amazing, you got it absolutely down to a T. It might just be the best Doom cover of ANY track I've heard - it's so good that it makes my skin crawl every time I hear it. You really captured the feeling of the track brilliantly with this one, I can't get enough of it. You even did the whole solo at 1:45 by hand, absolutely fantastic mate. Must've taken you a while to practice, but it's a great showcase of your talent :D .
I absolutely agree! It must have been roughly 2 years ago when I stumbled over this video and being a metal fan, guitar player and a doom 2 fanatic myself I can't stop listening to this master piece! Goosebumps guaranteed :-)
Would that Bobby Prince had you to record with all those years ago. I've been playing Doom since @#$%^&* 1992 and these renderings are so clearly what Mr. Prince had in mind, the technology wasn't quite there yet. This playlist is a shot of the adrenaline, crush an Archvile's skull. You rock!

Idk if it just me but I feel a lot of doom covers miss my favorite part of the music, the sudden full stops in the music. Like in this, in the original the " dun dun" is basicly a full stop with just a single strum and a singe drum beat. Idk it makes it seem more visceral imo...
That was an incredible performance. I couldn't believe how flawless you were going with that solo, then you put your own spin on it at the end. I just wish you didn't replace the classic rock organ with those synth strings or w/e. Still a beautiful cover on probably my favorite video game guitar solo
