just love how they nailed the feel especially at the beggining with the constant paniced radio chatter and gunfire

just got done playing this not too long ago.. brought back memories of being a kid.. I use to think of this game like die hard in space.. with every imp I put a shell into I thought.. yippee ki yay mfr.. first time I beat this game my granddad sat up all night watching me play it on the big screen in their living room helping with puzzles and laughing every time I got mad at the game.. game holds a spot in my heart fr.

I was just playing doom 3 thinking about the other survivors throughout the game, then I see this video, this is one of the best coincidences of my life here.

7:40 The fun part is... you can kill Ross during the prologue and Scotty will have a unique voiceline for that situation. I like that Doom 3 has a lot of these subtle choices that let you roleplay as a psychopath marine who is dangerous to others even without being possesed by demons. If the canonical marine is sent to Mars because he refused to execute civilians, then maybe this "phycho" marine was sent there because he HAS executed too many and the higher-ups decided to cover it by sending him as far away as possible.

I was 7 in 2004 when my dad got Doom 3 on his PC. I would watch from afar on his night sessions with eyes half covered. But I was fascinated by it. I drew some comics based on the game where I took the story in a different direction and different survivors went places.

I had kind of hoped during my playthrough of Doom 3 there had been more survivors, like a small hub of people who could tell some of their own stories via a few side-quests.

My absolute favorite doom!! Bought and played all of them new, and doom 3 is the only one that i repeatedly come back to again and again.

Fun fact: The marine at 6:01 is the same as in the cafeteria in the start. Character and voice are exactly the same. What a badass. I'm suspecting the other one at the table is the survivor on the lost mission.

This is such a fun game. For a spell it didn’t get the respect it deserved because it was such a departure from the original formula.

This game, along with STALKER, are about the only games I read EVERYTHING. I looked up where PDAs were, computers, notes - everything to just get a taste of more lore. The DnD game that was being played and the guy cheating. The recounts of going to Hell by scientific teams.. Sooo good. I would love it if they made more Dooms like this, set it up like you are a casual marine on the front, while Doom Guy is in stasis when Earth is invaded.

I played Doom 3 on PC back in the day. I had to upgrade it just to play the game. The game was a new step back then and its influence is still going on today. I love “Dead Space” and even back in 2008 I felt the Doom 3 atmosphere

I like to think Portal Man was stuck in Hell throughout the invasion, only to die once he finally escaped. IIRC there are some audio logs of a scientist who got lost in there while on an expedition, so maybe it's him?

The editing for the intro felt so much like a movie! Very well done, 👏 👌 🌸🖤🤍 This whole video is very well done from the narrative to the blend of gameplay. So many great memories i have experienced with this game. Though i remember randomly pounding a few numbers to open the door to the BFG-9000 on my first try and the door opened. 😮

I'm almost at Episode 3 in one of the best Doom 3 mod expansions (Phobos) and I'm sad I haven't meet anymore survivors outside Ep. 1 :( Though even that was set right before the events from Doom 3 and Hell literally breaking lose so... Atleast I got to meet my favorite NPC's like the alcoholic marine wanting a cig and the engineer saying he'll get the elevator running 'hell or high-water' though before everything went to...well...hell xS I remember an expansion mod, of a mod for Doom 3 Perfected, that had alot of Marine survivors/teammates pretty much throughout the Doom 3 Campaign and RoE, you needed to work with them to get them to survive and they'd eventually follow you but it was pretty cool as an aside, it was like "wow theres actually others that are normal like me surviving" like you'd expect Good stuff, jump scares don't work aswell when you've 3-6 other NPC marines behind you lolz (I still don't know how they managed to make friendly AI NPC'S with animations, maybe using the Sentry but that still must of took so much work)

This was a fun video to watch. :) However, I have my own head canon about most of the survivors actually being able to escape the forces of Hell. Yes, the documents state that no one survived the Hell Invasion of the Mars Base, but The Lost Mission clearly shows otherwise. Bravo (The name I gave to the Solo Bravo Team survivor) was able to get himself and Dr. Richard Meyers in contact with the Darkstar dropship and get to safety. I like to believe that Richard was able to spread word to any survivors still in the Base to make to the location where the dropship where a fully armed team was waiting. Who is to say that the few survivors we saw throughout the game maybe made their way there, but just as you stated, their fates were classified by the U.A.C.

DOOM 3 Is Awesome!

In the beginning of the game there's a guy hiding up in the vents in a little nook and he lets you up, you get some ammo or health, but he makes it clear that he's not going anywhere. I always wanted to hang out there with him and just live there. edit: oh it's Roland!

How can a guy have such a soothing, relaxing, adorable voice, it's such a charm to listen to 😊😋 Or is this an AI... It could, but if so then it fooled me a ton, yeah it's an Ai.... it's scary to think that I struggled to notice it.

Playing the excellent "Lost Mission" I fully expected some BS anticlimactic "and then you died" ending since Doom 3 clarified Doom Guy was the only survivor. Like Opposing Force. Instead I got the ending to Blue Shift 🤠

Four PDAs in the game can only be collected, if you shoot the civilians holding them... but that would make me feel guilty... so, as a compromise, I took them out by punching them in the head, so that I can imagine I just knocked them out (not killed them). All PDAs collected + clean conscience :)

Excellent work as always, are you the VA as well? This VA has a really good voice for narration. Also, Im 100% convinced that there is no worse fate for an NPC in any horror game (or FromSoft game) than to be 'helped' by the main character.

Quite a lot of work

I just finished the game. As a kid I was too scared to finish it and watched my brother play it. It's not as scary anymore, the jumpspcares, monster-closets, and spawns got predictable, still not a bad game. I can see why, at the time of it's release, it was heavily divisive. I do like how detailed the maps were. I feel like this game would definitely benefit being played as a VR game instead. Also kinda interesting how it takes heavy inspiration from Half-Life. Portal experiment gone wrong, the health stations. Like it all came to a full circle. Been looking for very similar games lately, especially with the stencil shadows and lighting. Guess the Riddick or Fear games might be the next games to play.

I was probably about 14 when this came out, played up to the part where paranormal ghost shit started to happen. Freaked me out, never returned. The new dooms are fun but no where on this level of horror.

the most epic moment i had playing this game is I got jump scare by pinky when opening a door & i hit it with flashlight twice 🤣 btw, this Doom 3 + DLC are the best FPS horror game. Will play back again in future in harder difficulty.

16:40 I personally think that he wasn't attacked by a trite, but rather he became one... let me explain, all demon enemies turn to ash after they die, but trites don't, they explode into green goo, you could argue is because "they are basically meant to be like spiders " wich doesn't really add up, because ticks do turn to ash, so why trites don't? What if, they're not really full on demons, but zombie heads? Considering that they are inspired by "THE THING" and that seemingly there is no head around the remains of the body... you get the point... right? (PS. sorry if anything is poorly written or explaind, I am writing this at like 1.AM and should really go to sleep, so yeah... that's it)

I dont know if you know about the Doom 3 novels there was 3 of them idk if they take place before, during or after Doom 3 but maybe in one of your future Doom 3 lore vids includ some of the lore from those (If you read them. I haven't was thinking about it hoping they have a audiobook makes it easier to "read" when driving)

doom 3 art direction was something else. shame the series has just gotten more and more cartoonish. 2016 and eternal are good games, just not doom.
