Wow...replacing the Wolftenstein references with Mortal Kombat since Doom 64 was made by Midway...that is *GENIUS.* And since it was made in 1997, of course the assets would be from MK4 and MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero. Still though, it'd be interesting to see how the Wolfenstein assets would look in D64 style. As well as the Legacy of Rust content.
When I saw the MK sprites, I was so confused. “WHY IS THIS MORTAL KOMBAT AND NOT WOLFENSTEIN”…and then I remembered Doom 64 was a Midway game….yeah, I’m an idiot.
Shame about the early exit on map 15. Still enjoying the run so far. The D64 textures and sprites really change up the atmosphere. Also just as an FYI, the missed kill on map 14 was a spectre in the "secret" closet behind the lamp in the blue armor room at 51:30. On a side note, DOOM and MK apparently is a crossover I never knew I needed. Also...and just I'm saying...but DrPyspy had a huge missed opportunity on map 32. If you're gonna code in the MK ninjas then you just gotta swap the Cyberdemon with Goro. And give him 4 rocket launchers :>
That would had been some Extra Spritting Work, and also the map is not custom for a custom Actor to appear, everything is working on the original maps, hence why the Cyberdemon is still present. A custom map 32 for doom 2 would do the trick, but that also might break the other wads you can load this with, yep thats right, this works with other wads as well.
Good walkthrough, thank you! I just have one request for you... when you get to level twenty, don't interfere with the cyberdemon and the spider leader. Let them sort things out themselves.
@@daniilryzhov5555 it seems to be a visual glitch on this release, either that or is related to a GZDoom version. At first I thought it was on my end due to shaders, but it seems it will be something to be fixed in a later patch
you will need to manually aim your rockets to the gap in his forehead, a bit tricky if you ask me, the gap is very small and only rockets work. There are no mechanism to get you lifted so its a straightforward fight.
Maybe if you load them both. Not even going to test it, since I like it as it. But I would expect anomalies since there are monster replacers everywhere.
