It seems like Id software keeps developing like an indie studio, even though they're funded by the big bucks. That's probably why they focused on making a game that was actually fun, as opposed to just trying to jam as much shitty content into a single package and rip people off and run with the money.
and the difficulty was set to ridiculously easy mode.I've played it on the hardest when i first started it and its nothing like whats shown here, once you get caught in the crosshairs of those big fat demons youre gonna lose a lot of hp yet this guy can stand still and duel with that fat ass demon with rocket pods
a few things that e3 is better: armor shade looks better, the sound of micro missles and bfg sound. I do really dissapointed when they remove micro missles sound
i was one of them. i played the open beta for multiplayer and was pissed. i thought it was terrible and i refused to support it. for shits and giggles i bought the game on sale over thanksgiving break and i've been having an awesome time. i'm so glad i gave it a chance.. this game kicks ass
Other games: you can't enter without a hand scan please find another way through. DOOM: You can't enter without a handscan find someone who has clearance AND RIP HIS FUCKING ARM OFF
It's like they actually listened to the community... although an even grungier, browner version of Doom 2016 with even more industrial areas and faster movement, now that wouldve been cool too. Oh wait, it's just Quake 1!
It was my main weapon when i was playing in ultra violence, its pretty good combined with the heat wave module (you can kill annoying imps and some shit from distance in seconds or instantly)...
It's not garbage, but it's not very satisfying. I actually liked the Doom 3 version better - it had slower fire rate, but you could feel the kick of the gun and the damage it did. It was just... right. I guess they tried to make it more suitable for the frenzied combat of the new game, but unintentionaly sacrificed the feel of the weapon.
@@BaByBoy714ful do you lack basic comprehension skills? OP was obviously talking about the final, completed build of the game that shipped to customers. He wasn't saying that this would be the last ever Doom game
It seems like a matter of like a half-second, but remember, you're doing hundreds of glory kills and chainsaw kills throughout the game. Combat pacing is EVERYTHING in an FPS--the difference between whether a game feels like Doom or Halo. Not that Halo's bad, mind! I like Halo games a hell of a lot. But the pace of a Halo fight is very different from the pace of a Doom fight. So to make Doom feel like Doom it is IMPERATIVE that it be fast. You have to be able to move at what other games would consider sprinting speed, all the time. And making a canned animation kill take one second or one and a half seconds can be all the difference--think of how long Gears of War chainsaw kills take, for instance. Those work for Gears of War because it's a cover shooter, where the pace is slower by nature. Doom is a twitch shooter. You can't stop.
+InchonDM you seem like you know your shit when it comes to doom so pls tell me is it possible to do the very last glory kill on imp before the revenant gets you? I tried glory killing from all positions but nothing, any advice? Pardon my english it s not my native language.
Wonder why they would have an op version of the chainsaw in the first place (They had to make it so the person playing the scripted demos couldn't be destroyed by the actual difficulty of the game, and it shows in his movement)
labobo Is it really anymore repetitive than point and shoot? I sure as hell ain't gonna complain about ripping a demon in half. Idk why you're complaining about the maps, 1) it's a demo 2) it's a space station on mars, what did you expect?
assi ate No the are not?Doomguy is a human that found himself on mars and invasion of hell just so happens to be a thing there. While Doomslayer is a Leader of Night sentinels of Argent'D nur who lost his son,had an angel give him superpowers and had a demon-forged armour, not a standard security one and actively goes out and searches for hell and it's minions instead of being a guy at the right place at the right time.
Publishers often use pre-rendered cutscene footage and deliberately misrepresent the game and disappoint players upon release. For the first time, we weren't lied to. For once, we actually got gameplay within the goddamn game engine at E3, and it was scripted to be measurably slower than the game itself in order to fulfill the hype.
This is the game i ever wanted since 1994. I just hope in a split screen mode cause i want to play this game with my father, he love DooM. I grew up with this game because of my father. And please Bethesda/Id, i want this game to run at 60 fps without drops on my ps4, that's really important for a true old school fps. I know you can do it! DooM look amazing. Thnx!
Game Bastard Well, this is A) Running on Xbox One, B) Pre-Alpha Footage, C) the same stuff that was shown off at Quakecon and D) hovering at around 40FPS at this current time (The SnapMap stuff, which I'm guessing is based off of a more recent version of the engine, is running much more consistantly at 60FPS). With about 10 months left in development, I have no doubt that this game will run at 60FPS on the consoles...meaning it'll run just PERFECTLY on my high-powered PC X-)
Pratim Gupta The interesting thing is, they are similar in height to their doom 3 counterparts as well, yet in this game they look like midgets in comparison to the Barons.
I like how the final product looked just as good as, if not better than this demo.... Unlike Ubishit, who likes to falsely advertise their titles to pique interest, then sell massively downgraded shit shows.
Effect wise the real product is a bit worse. For example the great thunder effects in hell level do not exist in game. Watch when he demonstrates hell every 3-4 seconds light flashes everywhere.
+Andreas M I agree. Unlike most people I actually loved the "piss filter" in Hell, it gave it a strong sulfuric feel while the retail beige one looks quite bland
Yeah, while I'm glad they got rid of the "piss filter" for most of the game, they should've kept it for the Hell parts, cause it actually looked good there
i tagged this as a sexual content; this was clearly rape and sexual harassment.... for making my eyes turned blinded by the aswomness. If the creators had such technology back then, this is how doom 1 would of looked like. I just cant wait to play this game. After playing wolfenstein new order my hopes of old school being brought back to this new gen has risen :D
***** its so awesome it hurts that now we cant touch it and give it the attention it deserves.. all our available minutes that become hours and no sleep, skip work, piss off gf's wives and friends by disappearing into DOOM.. possibly forever :D all I need is DOOM and CSGO.. other people can play all those other games. Do not want time wasted that could be playing and making DOOM maps/modes. The internet will implode on release of DOOM :D porn will no longer be the the biggest thing :D dying to start making a mode I have high hopes to be big

I come back and watch this every now and again. The crowd reactions, the game itself....it all literally brought tears to my eyes. The fact that the game was as good as the reveal made it look, makes this game a masterpiece.
Man, this is fascinating to look back on now that the game has been released. Foundry's layout is virtually identical, but they moved Kadingir Sanctum's arena all the way from the start of the level to beyond the blue key door!
Imagine the thrill of being a dev on this game and hearing that 100% deserved reaction to this rare masterpiece - especially in this unfinished micro-transaction gaming hell that is the norm. This is how to present a game, finished & zero deception. A masterpiece of PR, gameplay & respect for both history & fans.
TheAronDark I love it too...I showed this to my mother (I'm 30 and she is 60) a couple of minutes ago and she told me "I remember about you playing this game when you were a kid". And yeah she loved it, actually the part in where the guy takes the whole arm to open the door she laughed with wide open eyes! hahaha. Amazing come back for Doom!
If Doom Snapmap allows people to basically recreate the maps from the original Doom 1/2 games, possibly even tweaking the gameplay and stuff so that it's as close as possible to the original games too, then I think this feature could be pretty frikin awesome--never mind all the original and cool content people will come up with. It would be just be awesome as a pure nostalgia trip to be able to play what are basically cutting edge current-gen versions of the classic Doom 1/2 games.
+inceptional Yea thats what we really need, some recreated original content. I know they decided to make the gameplay fast and jumpy and thats great. Im not sure what setting this guy played on in the demo, but all the enemies seemed like they could be killed before they even set up their weapons. I know they probably just did that for the demo, but even so, they know doom fans want to see the fast paced , hard as hell level spread out to where you miss one step and its down you go. I have a feeling we will be missing the parkouring aspect of the original. Im still getting this no matter what i could be way wrong, i haven't seen all the levels
For this one its the envorment or just a showcase of how everything looks and "feels" And since DOOM (2016) is out everyone knows what it looks now so they can just "Hey lets go hella fast paced on this reveal"
That's true for the most part, but in terms of raw gameplay, this reveal is more along the lines of Doom 3 than the DOOM we actually got. That just means that id Software listens to their fanbase and is intent on delivering a game we can all proudly call a Doom game, though, so that kicks ass!
I love how even the person playing to film the showcase combat footage started to struggle towards the end, missing rockets or derping them into the environment and taking splash damage
Why are people whining about it not having enough horror? That's like playing a mario game an asking where the water jet packs are. Sure 1 game had elements of horror but that doesn't mean that it always should bea
***** Dude, relax. I'm sure he was just talking about how Bethesda revealed all three of those games at their panel at E3. He gave no credit to Bethesda for making those games, you came to that conclusion by yourself.
I will probably give in and get all day one, and I haven't done that in years due to the shitstorm triple a has caused in the past. Though seriously, I'm happy for Id to be back in their element. RAGE was painfully average.
Dean Murphy That joke. I like it. Good for you. I actually can't believe I didn't come up with that one XD But yes, if you like first person shooters this one will be the best in a long time. I would recommend Far Cry 3 to entertain you momentarily.
Obviously I love the finished product of Doom 2016, with the faster pace and self aware tone. However, there are aspects of this demo that I still really love, particularly the tone. It's darker, more atmospheric, and in some ways more visceral. If they had kept this tone and just made the pace as fast as 2016 eventually was, I think I would've liked it just as much.
Even the finished game was sort of this weird mix of dark, brutal and gritty with silly over the top, self-aware slapstick. I know Hugo Martin has said that the violence in DOOM has to be funny and not mean-spirited, but DOOM2016 is at times definitely still feels more "Saw" than "Evil Dead 2"
SabreTrueLight True that, the imps kinda had the same face design as the Hellknights. Strange how they showed that in E3... I like the final version of their design better.
The way the demonstration was played so slowly pissed me off so much, it was a poor reflection on how to game is meant to be played. I wasn't ecstatic about DOOM after the E3 but when i picked it up the first time it played way differently a complete Rush. The game is a masterpiece but they didn't show how it was when it was being marketed at E3.
Malhekrow How to play Doom 4. (All nighter vers.) 1) Get a SHITON of cow blood (You can find it at supermarket something) 2)Store that shit in the fridge. (It's important if your planning to really do it lol) 3)Secure a copy of Doom 4. 4)Set up your shit (Cow blood, heavy metal at full blast, Doom 4 set to max difficulty) 5)Start to... RIP AND TEAR DEM FUCKING DEMONS TO SHIT!! 6)POUR COW BLOOD ON YOURSELF WHILE HEAVY METAL IS SCREAMING AT YOU! 7)Repeat 1-6 every time you feel the urge to let your violent urges out... 8)Clean the fucking mess you made playing Doom 4.
Interesting to watch this retrospectively all the things they hadn't quite polished yet. The chainsaw seems to be unlimited use, ammo and health (ammo blue, health red) from glory kills... except it's inconsistent?. The art on the imp and hell knight doesn't seem to quite there yet, no "Mark of The Slayer" on the helmet. Makes me wonder how many more iterations they went through before landing at Doom (2016) for both gameplay and narrative.
I started playing doom hexen heretic when i was 4 years old my father had an windows 2000 and floppy disk version of doom 2 and ever since then my gaming journey started my father passed away cause of a diabetic coma and when they showed this i was cheering for the first time in 15 years i got a glimpse into what doom is now This one goes out to you pops miss ya✊️✊️
The most epic thing in the game is the chain gun with the mobile turret upgrade. Wielding a movable three headed minigun, 50,000rpm, doesn't get more epic than that. Also, there's the BFG.
And more than 7 years ahead, Eternal already released and almost a new game to be announced, I am here, with nostalgia, watching this video again, remembering all the emotions I had when watching it, live in the internet...man, time flies. Eternal is a blast and I had played it way more than Doom '16, but the place this game have in my heart, no other one can take. All of those years waiting for news about a new Doom game, and when it came was way better than my expectations.
