Dude thats an excellent idea, although we would have to put a complete career profile of Zeromaster across all games, and submit it to bethesda, im sure a few of bethesdas people know who he is but not the majority. Stuff like this has worked as publicity for these companies before, like the guy who bought fallout 76 or whichever fallout game it was (not a fan of the series so im unfamiliar) with a box of coke tops.
This happens a lot at that specific part of Hell on Earth. I know it's because the soldier is aggroing on an imp instead of Slayer, but I still laugh every time.
Best time in the game to use the damage-buffed Micro Missiles. id conveniently gave us easy to kill zombies right in front of the big guy to set up the combo.
This game is so intense, to just finish the game on normal difficulty is good going. That someone's brain is able to operate at this level for almost 3 hours just blows my mind.
Wait till you've played through a couple of times including ultra violence especially if you pick up all the 1Ups it becomes a walk in the park once you learn the combat loop and tackling each enemy including the marauder. I really struggled the first play through, yet to do a nightmare run but looking forward to it as heard it's much harder than ultra violence.
@@user-gz6tx6yp3v I finished a 100% Nightmare run a couple of days ago -- I've got the combat loop down for the most part, but I tend to choke often and/or suffer from tunnel vision while fighting in large areas.
Just takes practice. I had bad 'decision paralysis' my first several hours playing. Eventually, you stop thinking about your options mid-fight and start reacting automatically. That's when it all starts to click.
Good God, man. I haven't seen anyone complete the first Slayer gate on Ultra Nightmare, with only the upgrades up to that point, in just a minute. I tried that on my first Nightmare playthrough, and got my ass kicked. It was only much later in the campaign, that I was able to revisit and finally complete it. I've seen a lot of Doom Eternal speedruns, but this level of skill is almost unbelievable.
I think this is the type of the game where the beginning is really hard and where you start to get into the groove once you get past certain point. Developing even the simplest strategies really helps, like saving the chainsaw fuel for just one heavy deamon in the first slayer gate. It really makes a difference how you survive and how the fight is going.
most 100% runs complete that slayer gate on the first try, it`s all about spamming the plasma gun heatblast but getting stuck and dying is really easy unfortunately
you need to spam the plasma rifle and the heat blast and use everything you got against the dread knights and revenants. i usually set them on fire, throw a grenade and sticky bombs on them and them just run in the map to chainsaw some weaker enemies.
Am I the only one is this thread that things the first Slayer Gate is really easy and always goes for it in UN? I havent finished UN yet but that Gate never ended a run for me so whatevs. Its also the most important slayer gate since you can start mastering the CSG Sticky here and have exactly 9 weapon points when reaching the SSG.
Me fighting marauder: 5 minutes of running and waiting for the green eyes Zero Master fighting Marauder: Wait, let me rewind those last 2 seconds a couple of times to see wtf he just did...
It's genius. He locks on to the marauder and then distracts him with an ice bomb that does aoe. As soon as the marauder turns around he shoots. I tried it on the PS4 and it works.
"I messed up the sentinel prime fight badly" - "I messed up the double baron fight badly" Yeah you are just awful at this game, a real embarrassment lol!
I'm really not against the any% category in general, it's generally a good category. But on this game, the "real" speedruns are of the 100% category. No exploits or glitches. In any% it killed public interest, compared to what it should have been.
"Rip and tear until it is done." *Doomguy leaves* "Well that should take him a while. Time to get some candles, run a nice hot bath and listen to Kenny G!" *Doomguy comes back* "All done."
I really like watching the fights and arena battles. I think the Devs when they watched that 28 minute video this is what they really wanted to see and were quite disappointed they didn't with that video. They were consolidating each other by saying that he must've played the game properly many times to understand the out of bounds but we all know this is so much better
Took me 18 hours to finish the game, here we have a guy complaining he lost 3 and a half minutes on one level🤣. I guess I have lots to learn from this. Hell of a run, well done.
My wife came in and saw me watching this. "Why are you watching someone else play a video game?" I couldn't find the words to describe how unimaginably difficult it is to play this game at this level... so I just said "Yeah" which is pretty dumb given the question.
I also have to say - really love your DOOM videos ^^ I really love your both runs - in this run you take more risks and got yourself to low HP but the gamble is worth it in the end, whereas your previous run is slightly safer as you didn't go low HP at all, even till FInal Sin, either way both runs are awesome :)
Holy cr*p man, this is the best 100% run I've seen. Amazing gameplay ! Love to see new weird routing strategies. Like I didn't get why you didn't go in the Slayer arena in Taras Nabad the first time, then you go back and I see you killing the Tyran with the crucible and I'm like "Hey I've never done that somehow...". And 10 seconds later "Ohh wait, I got it..."
I appreciate that there are only ads in the beginning of the video - the portion most people would watch. it's almost like a reward for the ones who watch it in its entirety
"Hm, maybe I could continue watching that one speed run of that non-DOOM game I started yesterday..." *opens RU-vid and sees recommendations* "DOOM it is."
Dude you definitely have a new fan. I love how you give a recap in all of your videos. It really helps show the full process. You could try commentary once you feel up to a voice and/or face reveal. Might be an interesting idea.
Really awesome, Zero Master you should be given a Nobel Price from this . I think there cannot be better playing... I enjoyed watching the whole video and also learned some tricks, eg looks like Ballista + ssg combo works. Also I want to try that ice bomb+ homing Rocket combo to Marauder. Really awesome, respect 👍.
It's nice to see the apparent shift in focus from any% to 100% runs in this game. This is much more enjoyable to watch than repetitive scroll wheel jumping. As always, you killed it Zero.
I don't even consider these speedruns. Its all fun when you do it in 2 of over 20 levels in an old game, not when you do it in what? 5 out of 6? times in a new game
@@ayutac4056 its sort of a blurry line. I like any% for a lot of games even when theres major exploits that break the game such as wrong warps and things. Performing those feats consistently takes insane skill. On the other hand the older doom games were designed in such a way that even on the best routes you still can only get past so much, you cant just void glide to the end of every level. They were very good at forcing runners to still play the majority of the game. I'm torn as to which of the 2 to call "better"
@@CrownxofxHorns Except that in this case the scroll wheel jump is literally tied up to the PC's performance, so much that the speed runners had to agree on limiting the game to max 200 frames per second for the "speedrun" to qualify. It's hence not that much skill based but rather how powerful your rig is.
Me: "Why the demons so scared of the slayer he's just an enhanced guy with guns don't demons have giants?" Slayer: * dual weilds all guns at the same time killing everything but one whome he uses to slingshot himself to a place normally harder to get to *
I'm not following you for enough time maybe, but... any reason you're not on speedrun.com ? With this run, you hold the current WR in Ultra Nightmare 100% !
2:34:14 You'll save a few seconds and need less effort if you simply ice-bomb and charge up a full Destroyer Blade on this particular Secret Combat Encounter. The narrow hallway makes it easy to hit every enemy with it, and it instantly kills everything except the Doom Hunter (aim the blade so that it also hits his sled). I think maybe Zero meant to use the Destroyer Blade, but forgot to equip it. I can count on one hand the number of times in my playthrough the Destroyer Blade was truly useful on Nightmare. This instance is at the top of the list.
If you are watching this run and thinking to yourself "What is the big fucking deal? Game looks easy." Believe me it is not but this guy makes it look easy.
The way he killed the marauders is pretty good, baited his shield with his grenade so he used it to the side then got two charged shots of rockets off, never thought to do that before
