Not necessarily. 2016’s demons take a lot of cues from Doom 3 at times, especially the Hell Knight (which actually looks closer to Doom III in Eternal)
Yeah, it is. The designs don't read 'demon' to me. They look more like aliens. I like the designs themselves, just not for DOOM. They're too far removed.
Only the model of the Hell Knight seems to be newly developed and then evolved from Doom 3 on. Nice indeed to see how the Boss Tyramt looks like it's now straight from Doom II transfered to the technical possibilities from2020 with minor changes whilst it was completely different from 1996-2016
In my thoughts, the demons in Doom Eternal are suppose to be a cross of their 90s, Doom 3, and 2016 versions. Here are some examples. The Pinky still has it's body structure from Doom (2016), but it has the yellow eyes of the og versions. The Revenant has the armor and head structure of the original, the green eyes look like the ones from Doom 3, and it retains its jet pack from the 2016 Doom. The Imp has the body structure of Doom (2016), and the red eyes of the original. The Cacodemon has its eye pupil of the 90s version but has the arms of the 2016 version. The Solider has the arm cannon like the Doom 2016 one, but looks more like the original. What are your thoughts? Edit: Here's some more that I thought of. The Cyber demon/Tyrant although looking more like the original does have some of it's attacks from Doom 2016 like the missiles being launched into the air and coming back down, the flaming sword attack, and the laser attack. The Hell Knight has its color pattern like the one in Doom 2016, and the eyes make it resemble a bit like the ones in Doom 3. The Mancubus has the attack pattern like in Doom 2016, but it looks more like the original.
Doom 64's demons weapons and player appearance were originally 3D models, but due to the limitations of the time they were made into sprites similiarly to Mario Kart 64's Kart's sprites. Unfortunately this also meant they lost a lot of their original quality, and the original models are considered lost
Plus it's the only doom game that is made by midway company . Now it get remade. AND now it stills holds up 4k 60 to 120 frames, no bugs no slow downs just pure killing action
Actually in DOOM 3, those Lost Souls became looking like the classic ones in later campaigns instead of humanoid heads. I'm not kidding! Play it for yourselves!
@@tuiver_tim8684 "DOOM" means punishment/condemned (in hell) that what's exactly happening in DOOM 3, where when you a regular marine tryin' to survive in mars city (and later in hell) trapped with demon and zombie hordes. the fundamental of horror concept changes the DOOM aspect but the creepiness and uniqueness of DOOM 3 was totally impressive and made this game successful at its time. Dr. betruger is the best villain/main antagonist in all DOOM games. his evil attitude and maniacal laugh is hilarious but at the same time he has a dark power over demons to summon/command them by controlling the power of hell and unleashing those monsters to ambush the fearless marine. for me, this is the best DOOM game ever. it's pure of fun and replayability.
My top is doom 2016 revenant, awesome 6:01 Second place Doom 3 pinky 11:06 Doom 3 Tirano also impressive 19:20 All aracnics in eternal looks flawless Thanks for the video.
Gua!
I love classic doom but my favorite one to play is the PS1 doom when doom 3 BFG addition came out I was hoping doom PS1 classic would been on that game
Honestly prefer most of 2016's designs over Eternal. Including the ones where they did minor tweaks like the Cacodemons and Hell Knights. Even with the whole classics homage thing considered. They're not bad, I just like one more than the other.
I've got to agree with you. Bit of an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely love the mancubus design in 2016. It looks more so demonic and non humanoid. Same goes for the hell knight.
FACEPALM.
Doom 1&2: classic. Doom64: a decent upgrade. Doom3: ugly af. Doom 2016: 3D updates that ARENT complete nightmare fuel. Doom eternal: classic, but in 3D!!!
Because they are not. They are two different demon species. Not to mention that one is a boss while the other is a strong enemy that appears throughout the game.
