You know a game is good when their developers animate parts that are not supposed to be seen.

Demons: "just imagine him without his helmet" Doom guy without his helmet: *OH NO HE'S HOT*

I love how he look angry but calm.

I wouldn't mind a helmetless slayer skin actually. He looks cool.

I can't help but laugh at the Doom Slayer lifting up an invisible helmet in the intro cutscene. Beautiful work though

Everyone talks about the smirk at the Marauder but he also shows a few more small tidbits of emotion, like when he was with the Betrayer and he is about to leave when Betrayer stops him and he turns back around with a sort of facial motion like "Go on?".

4:04 Slightly unrelated, but you know how your hand and fingers glow red when you put them on a lamp/flashlight? Look at DG's right hand. Never noticed it until now.

The most impressive thing is, nine times out of ten, the dev team wouldn't have bothered going out of their way to animate full expressions beneath the helmet for these. This comes from a team who _knows_ that modders are going to take off the helmet to see his face. Id really is their own beast when it comes to attention to detail.

This Doomguy looks like Frank Castle (The Punisher).

You know what my favorite part is? His expressions towards the Betrayer. They're never angry. Sure, he's got the veins popping up on his forehead like he's angry, but all the looks he gives to the Betrayer are ones of pity. Like, "Yeah, I know why you did it, and I'm sorry." To me, that shows that he isn't just angry and/or clever about his anger. He is capable of much more, and that makes him even more human, more than just what the Seraphim "made" him to be, as all that is Man can stand against the Gods, as the Slayer shows on a regular basis.

6:50 Crucible Cutscene, pretty strong He-Man vibes

The fact that he could show confusion, empathy and surprise, as well as rage, was a nice touch, makes him feel coordinated despite being angry and is a good reminder that despite everything he is still a human fighting hell which would be unusual and terrifying at times no matter who you are.

Love how in the intro que acts as if he still had the helmet with him even though he forgot it in Mars.

Good job! It's still brighter around his eyes, but I really like the model. I hope id software will actually release a helmetless skin someday in the near future, even if it's praetor suit only.

This face is so well made like holy shit for a guy who's face we aren't suppose to see it's highly detailed and has a lot of animation too it

I love how badass doom guy is without being cruel. Kratos is a fantastically badass character and killing innocent people works for him, but i am glad that doom slayer is even more badass without all of the unjustified murder :D

I feel like the hair just makes him seem so much more defined and controlled, but yet, he still shows his hatred as a good use.

Holy shit he's smirking when he meets the Marauder, I love that they actually gave him facial animations for that part Overall seeing Flynn's face makes the whole story feel more grounded, he doesn't seem like this relentless killing machine, but as an actual person that is respected by many among his ranks, I love it

5:12 I like the little huff he does there, I think the animators made it super exaggerated so that it'd be noticeable through the visor, though I personally never caught it.

The fact that they even bother to animate his mouth is purely impressive on it’s own, and shows how much ID cares about this game. Will there be a sequel? I hope so.

The fact that the developers put detail into doomguys ears to wiggle/move when putting the helmet on is pretty cool ( I like details put in game that people don't seem to see or care about)

I really like how the slayer has those emotions showing instead of having a blank lifeless face that shows nothing

Now you feel and see his eternal rage very detailed on his face

Isn't it amazing how they fully animated his face? Also at 6:15 I think you started the fade to black too early. Should've waited a little bit more, so we can see him gritting his teeth more clearly.

Idk if it’s just me but he sort of has this tired look in his eyes, especially in the end as he’s walking away.

There's something about his eyelashes that just make his face look so off at times. Great video though! Pretty cool seeing how it all looks without the overlapping textures. So much more expression than I first would've figured too.

I like how they made him look like og doomguy but with a modern twist, hence the black hair

You'd think this isn't an FPS game and more of a Hack and Slash like God of War, because of the costume.

He looks quite boss, and even more cool is how he actually has a decent similarity to the original doomguy face on the Doom 1 and 2 HUD. But the model needs some skin-shader effects similar to the betrayer to give him more realism, he looks way too bland and plastic-like. It's like it's not quite a finished model.
