I love relistening to this remix whenever I'm having one of those boss fights that's meant to feel like a confrontation between "someone my own size," per se. *_"WHY ARE YOU HERE..?!?"_* 😡 Me, dropping a V quote to start the fight: *_"Wanna do an autopsy to find out..?"_* 😈
_"FINISH HIM!"_ [With a swift blow to the veteran Hellknight's jaw with a jolt of His upper knee, The Slayer knocked the warrior off balance... He then made an advance for the gladiator's weapon, raised it as high as he could... and smashed the beast's head with it...] [He felt a moment of pride in his victory, even taking a moment to ignore the Hell Priest's babbling before bluntly ending the fool's rants with the Super Shotgun. Though His actions drew immediate shock among His kindred, He simply tossed a coin where the Priest lied dead and went home...]
Every time he says "The Doom Slayer" I get literal chills up my spine, its so good! Great job (idky but my comments keep disappearing after a couple hours.)
For me, I like to imagine that there's been several instances of The Slayer meeting The Gladiator in various games. Officer Becket's confrontation with the final boss in Condemned: Criminal Origins, to name an example! To name others? Claire vs G⁴ Isaac vs The Leviathan/Slug John-117 vs 343 Guilty Spark In each of these stories lies a Gladiator, per se; a champion of the arena you find yourself in that must be defeated for the story to press further onward. I enjoyed beating each and every one of them to a pulp. Edit: Forgot to mention the 1v1s between Raiden VS Jetstream Sam (MGR) and Subject 106 VS Subject 107 (Trepang²)
@@G-13720 Eh, not exactly what I was thinking of, I admit - but I see where you'd get that! I was thinking of metacontextual narrative parallels where you, the player, had to fight a boss in a 1v1 kinda like as if you were both in a gladiator arena of a sort. In Dead Space, it's like The Leviathan was the arena itself - with you having to fight your way through whatever got sent your way and simply not die. In RE2, G most DEFINITELY fits the bill for a "goliath," per se - given how easily he can kill Claire if you don't make an effort to avoid his attacks. In Halo 3, 343's betrayal and murder of Sgt. Johnson opens up a personal desire for a can of whoopass served in the form of a Spartan Laser. They all think they're tough - until they learn the hard way how easily big fish bleed all the same...
