Very good video about the lore summary bro! I noticed you have a cool accent, signaling me that you might be from another country outside of the USA. I think you're pretty good at English and is pretty natural bro! Only one thing I can say is remember that "These" is the plural form of "this." When you say" one of this priests," it should be said "one of these priests" Or take one of these three guns. If one gun, then you can say; "Take this gun here." Hope that helps you sound more natural :D Love it, subbed last week and Doom Eternal is quite fun coming from a 1993 Doom Vet :)
He also gave him several inches in height and a couple of hundred pounds of pure muscle. Doom Guy was never a hulking giant when among humans but Doom Slayer walks around like a combination of Master Chief, Hulk, Wolverine and Superman. Master Chief for how he towers over everybody, Hulk because you can just tell that you don't want him angrier, Wolverine because he's thinking that anything you do to him is less than he's already experienced and Superman because he knows that in the end, he will always win the only question is who exactly he chooses to go about it.
the best part is that the doomguy when first presented to the daeg says "huge guts" the same thing that the doomguy from the comic said so in my opinion this implies that the doomslayer is also the doomguy from the comic
@@asura2877 He means the comic version of DoomGuy, specifically. If you haven't, someone put up a voice-over version of the comic and it's great because it made me realize that the DoomGuy was always crazy!
@@JadieMae23 i accidently clicked on your profile picture so... 1)Doom VR fucking sucks and its the worst doom game ever 2)Both DLC will be played as The Slayer
He wasnt its called fan service ID liked the fan theory so they put it in probly why it got delayed. I was one of those that thought they were not the same guy but was hoping.
When the knights found him he seemed to have had a complete psychotic break.... basically a psychoftom Borderlands level of batshit insane. Guess you'd have to be to be the Doomslayer.
He was also spending extended time IN HELL. As in, a realm that corrupts and drives you mad simply by BEING THERE. The fact that he's managed to hold out for so long despite being an otherwise normal (if hyper badass) mortal is a testament to his sheer willpower and determination.
It woulf be great if in one of the DLC'S for doom eternal we got to olay as doomguy when he first arrived at sentinel prime all the way upto were he killed his first titan
I heard 3 DLC's are coming to Eternal: 2 where you play as the slayer and one we aren't sure of. I wanna see his time with the sentinels and his time between 2016 and Eternal.
If you pre-ordered the game and got Doom 64, there's an additional mini-episode where you can play some levels that fill in what happened between Doom 64 and Doom Eternal, I believe.
Wait, I just realized the seraphim said " It's a gift take it,it will give you strength help you on your journey". In Doom 2016 Samuel Hayden says the exact same thing when he gave doomslayer argent energy for the first time. They both have the same voice actor as well. Could there be a connection?
According to theories yes he is. I'd wanna say he is as well. But tbh with people saying Doom Slayer is the betrayer then spun around I won't assume anything yet
there is always things that could be improves. Also, personally wish the dash is a normal move instead of skill cooldown, making it more like a proper hardcore action (shooter) game.
U could still improve the game but the catch is to not make it another run, cover and shoot like cod although cod is a good game it would destroy this game consider it is called DOOM and the doom slayer is known to be a complete badass. What I'm trying to say is that there is still room for improvement just try not to make it another typical shooter gam
I wouldn't mind having melee damage for fists (outside of blood punch, glory kills and chainsaw) and/or the pistol from 2016 back. Everything else is great so far. If those 2 things had been there, then we would not have legions of brain dead idiots saying the game is bad. I figure it's a mix of people who are bad at games, people not used to having their assess handed to them by an fps campaign, people who want mindless shooting and don't want to think at all, and doom boomers who can't accept a doom game is kicking their ass on ultra violence and nightmare difficulty and all of the above are feeling very salty as a result of their gripes with the game.
Doomguy wanted pure revenge on the demons for killing his bunny Daisy and at first he didn't care what happened to the world at first but in doom 2 he started to care about the world and what happens to the people of Earth but then the same thing in doom 64 happened refighting the forces of hell and he decided to sacrifice himself for humanity by closing the hell portal from the inside and he fought the forces of hell as long as he could and the night sentinels found him outside the castle walls and the doom 2016 game happened and so did doom eternal
Nah, he always cared, the reason he has sent to mars has for insubordination since he refusee to shot civilians and instead punched his superior. Also he discovered Daisy fate very late (IIRC its the end credits of doom 1) and that just fueled his resolve
He also lost his comrads which I think he was very close too basically he lost everyone he loved but still he doesn't bitch and complain like most angry characters "cough cough" old kratos ,Asura
If you listen closely when Doomguy speaks, the grunts that he makes sound very similar to the pain grunts he made in the original games. Id did a good job picking the voice actor
The Doomguy had tried to the best to stop hell demons' invasion on the battlefield of Phobos in Doom 1994 version and Doom 2 Hell on Earth and Plutonia Doom. Although he finished those brutal battles through Doom eternal's mission, his dangerous next mission will wait for him because fighting is his fate and he can't avoid his eternal fate. Practically, the ID devs don't want to make him as unemployment since they need a more game sales volume through his battles.
6:48 Those were classic sounds! I could hear it: rocket launching, gibbing sound, rockets launching, BFG shot, plasma rifle shooting, more rockets being launched-- in that order, more or less.
Yes. The first was caused by the UAC's experimentation, a good amount of humanity escaped and the corruption didnt spread too far. The second, in Eternal, was lead by the hell priests AKA the Deags. Around 80% of the population of earth was wiped and the demonic corruotion spread much further
Different universes. But you can think of it like time travel causing different realities as well. Everything was working normally. Hell took over dimensions and planets as they were able to so eventually experimenting with portal technology in Doom 1993 let hell break into Earths dimension(doom guys universe). Then at the end of Doom 64, the doom guy was so far back in time technically he dropped out before the Sentinels had ever met the demons. This led to the Khan Makyr eventually making the unholy union. It's more or less when multiple realities parallel universes, and timelines re-merge forming just universe like in the beginning and end. From the end a new beginning which is why the Doom is the only dominant life form in the universe. He exist is everytime line, every universe, every possible outcome, because no matter what happens and as immortal as a race wants to believe it is it will always collapse and go extinct thus Doom will always come as he has before and as he will again.
I have a feeling that since the Titans are tied directly into the Hell Priests that there was some sort of soul bond to both bind them to the will of the Hell Priests. And to incentivise them to follow the orders and wishes of the Hell Priests. So because of the Hell Priests dying. The Titans died as a result.
@@オクタン-g7u Well, that Titan carrying Deag Nilox's blood temple was still alive and almost seemed to have lost purpose. I imagine he simply ended up wandering aimlessly until he was forced back into Hell; Titans are slaves, after all, and almost seem passive when not under some other Hell lord's thrall.
Alot of people WILL NOT agree with me but I think that ID Software's decision to go make Doom Eternal a lore-deep game was an amazing decision. It ended endless debates of multiple arguments like "doomslayer and doomguy are not the same person" and "doomslayer is the betrayer" Edit: Now I'll just wait and see if the theory of doomguy being a Blazcowicz is true
@@jhonnoilcringeincarnato8593 I don't think the comics are canon. I think they decided to use the same words but in a different context. Like, he was on the brink of insanity when they found him so that's all he could think about. Not to mention in a codex, it explains how hell works. The longer you stay there the more of your soul gets absorbed until you become a demon. Doomguy had spent a long time in hell so that probably did a number on him spiritually & psychologically.
Now that I think about it, Doomguy's story really reminds me of Spartacus. Torn from his home, sent to the arena for judgement, coming out one angry mofo, killing everyone in his path on his quest of vengeance and starting wars against the high ups in Rome such as Claudius Glaber and Marcus Crassus (Doomguy went against the Hell Priests, Khan Maykr and Icon of Sin in his version of the story). In the end they both come out hero's of their respective people (although Spartacus dies and Doomguy obviously doesn't). Wow...they really do parallel each other more than I realized
I wish it were made more clear in the cutscenes that the people of Argent D'nur didn't speak English when they found him. I would have liked to hear the words they spoke before learning his tongue.
argent text is kinda look like pseudo arabic to me, also seems to be written/read from right to the left. Maybe they also talk like pseudo arabic?? what's also interesting, demons have their own language & texts too.
why DOOM Slayer took a vow of silence? Also what about the theory that human Samuel Hayden was merged with Seraphim Samur & bring about human revolution in argent energy tech? who's THE FATHER? who's MOTHER GOD? who's giant myker body lying around in Urduk? There are still many questions unanswered.
Yea and the human like beings plugged into shit in the walls on Urdack. Glad someone else wanted to k no ow about that big ass floating makyr in the water part.
Alright, I'm going to try to answer some of these questions as best I can. Here goes nothing. It's stated in one of the Sentinel History codecs that the Doom Slayer just stopped speaking. The reasons are not made clear, but I like to assume that it's because he found he doesn't really have anything to say. Regarding the Samuel and Samur fusing theory, it's a very interesting take. I kinda prefer the theory that Samuel is a reincarnation of Samur, or at least that he transferred his mind into the robot body to either escape the Transfiguration, or to escape Kahn Makyr's wrath (pretty sure she found out about The Slayer's divinity at some point). It's also sort of stated in game that The Father is none other than our A.I friend Vega. You take him with you to Urdak so he can create an exit portal for you. When you connect him to the central mainframe, he says "I can see it now...am I The Father, Dr. Hayden?" before going completely silent. I'd have to look back at the codecs for clarification though. I can't really answer the Mother God question though. I think that just might be a second Name for every Kahn Makyr. Could be wrong though. As for the dead Makyr body underwater, I think it's just a former Kahn Makyr, laid to rest after an unfortunate demise. Hope I helped answer some questions!
@@Tarnished-Turned-Elden-Lord what interest me, it seems present khan myker seems to be not "popular." Like she unceremoniously put herself as the "khan," the sole leader of Heaven/Urdak. There are also three wraiths/mykers figures that much more prominent with their statues & reliefs keep showing up. Even fortress of DOOM have this iconography. I am talking about these guys: index.artstation.com/artwork/wGNo9 OK, total speculation here. What if: + Red myker with demonic crucible: Samur Myker/Samuel Hayden/Samael Heathen/Lucifer/Satan + Blue myker with a staff (also have a lot of statues, reliefs, & altar in fortress of DOOM): THE FATHER/VEGA (actual Fortress of DOOM name is Temple of VEGA?) + Purple myker with an orb: DARK LORD/NAMELESS ONE
Very interesting , thanks Dr Doom. It is genius how the devs managed to bring sense to all the Doom Story. I mean, just look how they managed to take Doom 1 and 2 into account in a way that seems canon and logical. What is the Name of the Song in the end ? Its cool.
Fun fact: Doom guy's father is Comander keen. And Comander keen's grandfather is Bj (Or blakwizicosisugeeyd or whatever) So this means that Doom, Comander keen and wolfeinstein share the same universe (Id software said this btw) (:
Yeah, it's widely known. Although the generational gaps between protagonists are ambiguous; both Blazkowicz and Keen are said to be grandfathers *or* fathers of their respective descendants.
@@UltimateRosen they attacked again just because he thought he stopped them, doesn't mean they actually stopped, they probably destroyed everything once he was in hell since they probably thought he would die. Cause what would he eat in hell?
Okay so we know the Doom Slayer is Doomguy . . . Doomguy was able to lift 2500KG, run at 57MPH and can endure multiple rocket shots, plasma shots, etc. The Doomguy went into the Divinity Machine, giving him divine strength on top of his normal strength. How strong is he now??? O_O
I like the fact that the titans are just immortal beings that can be "killed" only with the crucible and argent energy. Keep in mind "killed" is strecht because this basterds are not dead they are just sleeping. Even when you go to retrive the crucible Hayden statets that "If you remove the blade he will rise again". So the only perminet solution to "kill" them is to let the blade from the crucible/ the argent energy that killed them, in them so that they will never rise again. And the only way I see it for the first Titan to get ressurected again is only if doomguy gets the blade back. And the only way to remove the blade is only with his hilt.
The way I see it, he slammed the door in Hell's face as they were making a break for it after Doomguy was subjected to the Divinity Machine, leaving them with the Doom Slayer to quiver over. The way Hell's forces were presented in Doom 3 and ROE leads me to believe that they wanted to find a safe haven in the Doom Marine's timeline and have an overall easier time nabbing souls, but nope, they got bluntly kicked back through the door they came from with the rudeness of a pissed off nun. The Maledict won't be a problem for the Slayer thanks to this, good riddance.
Samuel Hayden in Doom 2016: It's a gift. Take it. It will give you strength, help you on your journey - if you can withstand the power surge. Seraphim in Doom Eternal: It's a gift. Take it. It will give you strength, help you on your journey.
Seen as it is heavily implied that Vega is this universe's God the next doom game could be about putting God in his rightful place and finally bringing peace to the good souls and restoring urdak (heavan) and leaving the wicked to exist by themselves for themselves.
I don't think God as in the Christian God exists in the Doom universe. What you are talking about is "The Father" which is Godlike in it's abilities but isn't litteraly God. Also Vega is only the essence of the father that Samuel/Samur stole from Urdak. Urdak isn't paradise, in fact it's even less paradise than doom's hell is hell. Urdak is actually an artificial planetary system maintained in its location artficially in the universe thanks to advanced subatomic engineering, it defies laws of physics but is still in the same dimension as Earth whereas Hell is it's own dimension separate from Earth. Also it is my belief that Samuel will basically turn into Satan and the Father will seek to get revenge at the Doom Slayer for eliminating the Maykr Race.
@@doomrayer1714 The Father was stolen from Urdak by Samur, which, is why Vega when inserted into the systems, asks the following. "Am I The Father.. Dr. Hayden?" As he is returned to where he had been taken from, his memory is restored.
I can't wait for the third part of this new series. VEGA (probably) possessed by Father of Urdak, Night Sentinels chasing Slayer for killing Hell Priest and Samuel Hayden as his "voice in head". P.S. Don't you think that the creators gave us the Unmaykr too soon
It would have been cool if instead of saying:"And now they will fear you" he said:"Until we see each other again" just like Hayden at the end of Doom 2016 because at this point its basically confirmed that Samur and Samuel are connected somehow
Hey man can you do a time line video demo the doom to the doom 2 to doom 64 >doom 2016 > eternal. The video is fine but a complete lore timeline would be amazing. Cheers!
Im curious to know, how in the world the Doomguy is already so powerful from the beginning as a human, in the original Doom. I know back in 90s many developer created an over power main character, but Im just curious to know the logic behind this for Doomguy when he was a normal human.
Wow this video is pretty good video ama give you my guts cuse you deserve it okay now l need it

I was trying to avoid spoilers because I can't play until May. But as they say, curiosity killed the cat. Another thing I want to say is that I think DOOM Guy's fate was sealed in DOOM E1M1. Because, that was when he started to RIP AND TEAR, UNTIL IT IS DONE.
I did research and here's what I learned. He is William J. Blazkowicz III. The man who sought to end the demons invasion indefinitely. The man you play in DOOM, DOOM II and DOOM 64. The descendant of Blazkowicz II and Commander Keen. However, ID Software diverged the story line with later titles of Wolfenstein. Because of this, there are 2 established timelines. One resulting in the Nazi's winning and the other leading to DOOM. I can't tell which one is worse.
If he's the same guy from the comic book, I hope they have lines for Doomguy in the next game (if they make one) about how he hates radioactive waste and about protecting the environment for our children and our children's children.
Soo... doom I, II, and 64 (except doom III) are connected to doom 2016 and doom eternal? As in they actually belong together and doomguy 1993 went to being the doom slayer 2020. Just trying to get the question out the way.
Sebastian Ferreira yes, however about doom 3 many people still do not know if that’s part of the doomguy story. I theorise that it is, as in doom eternal you can see in the fortress of doom the soul cube. But besides that yes all other dooms are connected
So the only thing I'm confused about is that this would be the second time earth has been invaded by hell? In Eternal it seems like theirs nothing implying a past invasion. Unless the Doom Slayer's original earth was a different one or something? How long would it have been between the end of Doom 64 and the beginning of Doom 2016? Maybe earth just recovered by Eternal.
It was a different one. The Mother's sister failed to kill him, but he went back inside, continuing to desire the blood of his enemies. Evidence suggests that his old Earth continued to be ravaged after the first invasions were repelled. Considering how Hell can travel across space and time, it's no surprise that they didn't want him to protect his Earth any longer.
...Doomguy actually uses a full covering shirt below his armor (the classic uniform), so basically somehow he manage to not let any other thing rip more his shirt...
Wish he didnt speak...He never did before and it made him an icon and less of a personality. They used the very same formula for Gordon Freeman. How would Freeman be percieved if he talked? No it made him into the icon Half-Life protagonist that he is today. Another choice they screwed up in Doom Eternal. The guards could just have quoted him "We found him outside the walls. He was mumbling about guts, huge guts, and said rip and tear" THAT would have been cooler. Its the same reason why Boba Fett became such a cult figure after the SW OT. We never saw his face. It made him a mystery. Audience liked that. Time and time again this is a concept that works. Why change it after all these years??

While I agree that Doomguy and Doom Slayer are one in the same, even before the evidence became so overwhelming, there is a continuity error that springs forth from this. Revenants were created with UAC "volunteers" from the new dimension as well as armaments for the Mancubus, Arachnotron, Spiderdemon and Cyberdemon, so how do these demons have upgrades in the original games? As this continuity point has not been addressed, to my knowledge at least, my headcanon is that the UAC only upgraded the mechanical tech of the demons, and only refilled the ranks of Revenants, not create them. If anyone has a better answer please let me know. I get time travel in Doom is also a thing but we have no evidence that the Demons, or UAC have used it.
