Today I finally beat UN. This guide was invaluable to me and will be to anyone who attempts their first UN run. I was literally taking notes on every useful tip and trick so it's easier to memorize all the staff. Good advice in general for Doom Eternal! I kinda think that makes them a cool enemy! It's not very often that you see a low health-pool enemy with high damage! They function kind of like the sniper from tf2 in a way

HOWEVER I skipped that holt slayer gate so eventually I wanna do all combat. tag2 was much easier lmao. I’ll be looking forward to the video! curious to see what bfg routing you do and how you deal with the spirit buffed baron.
Can I just say a huge thank you for this video? I got burnt out trying to beat this game on Ultra Nightmare on Xbox Series X and took a few days break. Discovered this video and I then beat it first try with a RU-vid video of my playthrough! Such an excellent guide and very well explained logic of your decisions. Literally the most valuable Doom Eternal video ever. I have 300 hours into the game, dabbled a bit with UN, but never commited. I learned so much new stuff and I feel ready to try again, great job!
Bro, I have to give thanks to you and this video. I got passed Tag 2 on un with 2 tries, I got passed tag 1 on un with 2 tries, but the base campaign I think I had around 15-17 attempts. But I can say for certain that at the time of writing this comment I have beaten all three campaigns on UN, I couldn't have done it without you man. Up next? Ultra Nightmare master levels, it ain't over till it's over.
Awesome video, thank you for explaining the strats so perfectly. Even after hundreds of hours played I was not aware of the 120 FPS cap, sticky bomb crits, and just general strats for stalling the push forward combat system. Thank you
I just finished streaming my Ultra Nightmare playthrough with your strats and I bless you dawg, to the absolute MAX. I cannot thank you enough, I studied each level you explained carefully. And while I didn't follow it exactly and had some hiccups here and there. I'd say as long as a person knows the Doom dance then they can get past it. Great guide man. As someone who's UN everything (including MLs) except for the base campaign this is very helpful. I just hate having to start the campaign from scratch and going through the whole upgrade process all over again...

Yeah might have been uploaded 2 years ago, but I just started another playthrough yesterday and this video gave me a good reminder of how excited I was for this game when it was released in South Africa, when COVID first broke out there, and we went into our first lockdown. Best UN guide I’ve seen. I had finished UN years ago but now after returning to the game want to try again. I forgot all my old strategies and this video helped to shake off the rust

Incredible player. Being able to so casually explain what you’re doing while playing like a damn surgeon on crack.. it’s amazing. Tonight I got through half the game on the ultra nightmare / extra lives mode. Only died once or twice on each level. Gearing up for proper Ultra nightmare!

I would love to see you do a video on how exactly you weapon swap so fast and efficiently, your exact key binds.. and maybe even a video of your hands while playing. I use my mouse buttons to swap between most weapons, I thought that having the weapons set to keys next to WSAD would mess up my movement. Clearly, I was wrong and your way is much faster. Unfortunately using the mouse buttons for weapons is the way I have been playing Doom for around 300 hours now. @@ttvdevo

This guide is one of the best, I'm going to save your vid cause I will definitely watch it a couple of times. Every mechanics through each arena on each levels is well explained. I wish I could've found this vid earlier cause I'm currently having a nightmare run in extra lives mode.(Currently at DH Base)
At 35:40 you talked about locking your fps. Can you elaborate why you recommend this? I know that some animations are dependent on your current fps, but I don't think that's enough of a reason to lock it.
Yup, spot on Jerrad. In DOOM 2016 the second arena in Necropolis is that games version of Dead Simple but it's far more faithful to the original than Eternal.
@@onlyusernameleft2 yeah not sure about DOOM 3. If you get a chance check out Brutal DOOM 64, it adds more enemies to DOOM 64s 'Dead Simple' and it sticks in my mind for some reason.
4:28:40 what happened to the galdiators health there 😂 hes been buffed since I last played, i had about 9 months off i remember just spamming him with ssg + ballista now he seems to give you way less opportunities
Yeah, over time he's definitely been buffed. He was made more resistant to rocket launcher damage. An interesting boss because at launch he was considered to a huge brick wall, then within a couple months it became a pretty straightforward fight.

Hey I just bought the game from a steam sale and I've been enjoying your content a lot. Somewhere in exultia (I lost the timestamp), you said something about how it's best to cap fps to 120. Why is that? Did I misunderstand, since it seems like you're running uncapped?
G'day Ben, I think when I completed this playthrough I was playing in 4K so the frame rate likely rarely went over 200. The reason for capping your frame rate in DOOM Eternal is it can make enemy movement and stun durations more predictable. I recommend capping at around 120 to 160. When speedrunning I cap it at 250 because some tricks are easier at a higher frame rate.
When you were talking about how fricking annoying carcasses are I was thinking the same thing when I was playing and when I killed the carcass I was like finally you are dead you are so annoying why are you in the game
They are quite the constipation sensation to deal with that's for sure. I don't mind them in that they punish you for making bad movement decisions... Buuut stuff like Blood Maykrs and Marauders just make you stop in order to participate in doing damage to them.. Or just ignore them until the red light turns green!
Sorry to hear that mate 😞 The best thing to try if that happens is try using the weapon wheel to swap. Sometimes that will fix it and you'll be back to normal. Alternatively chainsaw or glory kill will reset it back to normal.
I use a Zowie FK1 set to 400 DPI and my in game sensitivity is set to 2.7 It's a lower sensitivity and for me to do 180 degrees of turning I have to move the mouse 22cm across the pad.
