You might have noticed the thumbnail: there's a non-secret BFG in this map! You can apparently only grab it through an archvile jump in coop. The BFG is there in single player too, but then there's no archvile to use... I only discovered this right after uploading the video and didn't want to re-edit it, so I think I'll quickly show it in the next video before starting MAP22. I feel like most people might not know about it and I definitely want to show that it exists :D
I kinda dislike it when mappers put non-secret secrets and then I find out "oh, something was there but it wasn't marked as a secret on the automap". I'm quite the obsessive completionist so more often than not I re-upload another run if it's not like a two-hour map.
@@dreadwanderer Then I presume you loathe the 'LOL room' in Unstable Journey, in Episode 2? It's another unmarked secret with stuff, that you need _two_ chained Archie jumps to reach.
@@Lunar_Sovereign There's also a non-secret BFG in MAP24 of BTSX2, but I can roll with that since it's only an archie jump and the map is pretty short.
Thanks :D Same here usually, I think it went better cause it happened spontaneously? When I actually try to prepare and set up a jump, it tends to go wrong 😆
That BFG totally is something I didn't know about! As most of the videos I've seen of BTSX are single player, I guess this is something that isn't known! Song is Heliotrope by James Paddock.
Oh, so hobomaster is Nick Laurent. Don't remember seeing his name anywhere else, but still, cheers! I like this map. It plays like an early cluster (set of maps between the tram station intermissions) one, only made harder to fit the late wad placement. And Heliotrope, Jimmy's midi, gives it that motivating vibe of "you're close, come on, one more push to the finish!". Next map, second best map. I'm uber-excited for the next upload! Out of curiosity, do you plan on playing BTSX Episode 2 in sequence after this? Asking because Tower In The Fountain Of Sparks is overall much, _much_ bigger than Get Out Of My Stations, especially maps 4, 8, 15, 20 and 25. Be ready to use saves.
@@DinnerForkTongue Episode 2 certainly has its charms, goes for a more pronounced Plutonia vibe with the jungle + stone maps. Quite hard to pick between 1 and 2, I think 1 is better but only by a small margin. Having played the E3 preview however, that ranking has a high chance of changing once the full wad is out 😄
I'll most likely play some other things first. E1 already had some very long maps and while I really enjoyed it, it'll be nice to have a shift in theme for a bit :D
Geez, I didn't notice if there were any other monsters by archies in this one. 😅 23:50 Clever rocket jump! 2:30 I did notice your voice sounded different. Glad you weren't sick for very long on your holiday. I got sick on my trip to New York a few years ago, but thankfully it was only a 24 hour bug. Didn't interfere too much with vacation. Just gave me a day without a schedule so I could chill. 😁
The music in this map is so good. One of my favorites from e1 for sure Which is strange since, it would also feel like the track would be right at home in e2 also. Regardless, it works still :D
