Just finished watching the Netflix Series. I'd completely forgotten about them appearing in Doom Patrol. And I hadn't got as far as #25 in re-reading The Sandman so I've been having fun piecing it all together. Neil Gaiman is such a genius, don't know why any other comic writers even still bother. Him, Grant Morrisson and Alan Moore make up my personal holy trinity of comic writers.

Morrison and Moore politely fight over how gritty or whimsical comic books should be, while Gaiman makes his entire graphic novel career out of balancing between the two extremes gracefully.

Yup. At least both actors for this one look like a teenage boy. The actors for the new shows look past their teenage years. Its Dead "BOY" Detective Agency. Not Dead Adult Detective Agency. It's a common occurrence in a show to pick old actors trying to play young characters. Is it the number of young actors so low that they have to pick the old ones🤨. It's just my curiosity as to why this thing keeps happening in most shows.

@@deanxiii1595 underage actors usually can't work as long as adults and they have less acting experience. Also, the boys in the netflix show are technically just two years older than the actors in Doom Patrol, so i've they starred in the show now, it wouldn't make a difference anymore. But i do get your point, the actors from doom patrol were like 19-20 when they filmed this. I personally prefer the Netlix version though, the acting seems more interesting and the outfits look nicer.

Charles? Absolutely, he's the best. Edwin? Meh, to much sway and actin lika picky girls. I like Edwin in Doom Patrol, he has some charisma and charming.

The one who plays Edwi It's not a choose me girl, it's a choose me boy and in itself it's not the character who plays it, it's a bad feeling, a bad vibe.The one on doom patrol gives me a much more bad feeling and he exaggerates too much, it seems like he's holding in a fart or that he has to go to the bathroom and he gives me very bad vibes in a bad way.

@@Lucifer.SamaelMorningstar really ?I personally didn't like Ty in this role because he felt really... Weird and stiff (and constipated). I absolutely love Ty Tennant but George Rexstrew slays the "Edwardian teenager with the moral values of a catholic boarding school" act. Plus the costume designing is much better in the Netflix show. Anyways I like both the shows way too much

Well, the spin off with these guys failed and Netflix grabbed it and we got a great adaptation on that service, so go watch it. Both versions and both sets of actors are great but the Netflix is exclusively the DBDA characters with their own overarching story. Also, it’s REALLY good.

I like this version of Edwin way more, he has such a great resting b* face, it does wonders for the character, but the new Charles played by Jaden is outstanding, he has a lot of charisma, no offense to anyone

I know things are in flux at HBO max because of the merger, but I remember they were going to make a dead boy detectives show. I remember that they weren't going to use same actors though which made me sad because they absolutely killed it in their roles. I wonder if that's still happening?
