Thank you so much! Long term I definitely plan on doing track breakdowns and sharing what I’ve learned. I will say that a good chunk of that exaggerated space is coming from the plug ins “wider” and TAL chorus. Both are actually free :) Wider is pretty clean while TAL has a certain spice to it that’s tasty. I learned mixing rock so I actually mix this not too differently than one might mix a rock track. Nollys masterclass was super helpful for me.

I tend to use Valhalla verbs, or waves H-reverb a lot, but I've not yet found a reverb plugin that I'm really satisfied with- even after hours of tweaking. That's awesome though, I'm already subbed so if you get round to doing those breakdowns I'll definitely be checking them out! Would love to see your vocal chain/microphone selection. Also (if it helps) I found your channel when you posted the Three Days Grace cover on Reddit (forget which sub it was!) Just for knowing where traffic might be coming from!

I use Valhalla vintage, room and shimmer. Also use slate digital verb suite classics the BM7 unit specifically. For this one my vocal chain was Shure SM7b directly into a Scarlett Waves SSL for eq and light compression CLA76 CLA La2a Fab filter pro q for some cleanup eq. SLATE VMR with that blue eq that’s extremely sensitive. Very light bump in the treble with that. Fab filter D-esser Decapitor R Vox Then that goes to my FX chain which has kind of a lot of stuff. Micro shift for widening Valhalla delay for a mono delay H delay for a ping pong delay Slates BM7 on a plate setting Valhalla vintage verb on a big hall setting for the verses There’s a double track mixed -7db for some words of the chorus. That is bused to a bus with fab filter pro q for some light shaping Then l1 limiter to pin things just a little bit.

I'm running through a Scarlett as well, and have a majority of these plugins besides decapitator- hoping to catch it a touch cheaper in a black friday sale this year. Definitely going to experiment with this chain and see if I can clean up my vocal tracks a bit more. Thanks again man, that's awesome!
