Dooney & Bourke - RANT and Comparison (Hattie vs. Buckley)

I am new to the designer handbag world. I turned 50 this year & decided it was time to finally treat myself! My kids have flown the nest! I have been educating myself with all of the RU-vid videos! I don't have access to a box store to physically see & feel the Dooney bags, so the education I get from you all is Wonderful! I want to Thank all of you in the Dooney Community! I have found such kindred spirits in this new phase of my life! I now have 3 Dooney bags & LOVE them All! 😘

I can never understand why people "dislike" videos. I personally love your detailed comparisons and was just telling my coworkers today about your video on "Light Taupe Comparison". Keep up the great videos! :)

I think your so AWESOME Pecan Tan and your one of the main reasons I restarted my love affair for Dooney. I had stopped carrying Dooney and was into Michael Kors, which I haven't purchased since December as a belated bday gift to myself. You have a beautiful collection and it truly inspires me to add color and different silhouettes to my handbag collection. I even enjoy your FB page as well. Please continue the amazing unboxing and tutorials about Dooney. I'm currently a DIVA ON A BUDGET, but I find what works for me and fits that budget. Your correct about these being materialistic items and not to let them cause jealousy or negativity, but the beauty and workmanship of these accessories can bring added joy and flavor to a person. A jade or fuchsia or calypso or ocean handbag adds a pop of color to my wardrobe and brightens my day, when maybe I'm not feeling my best. I eventually wanna add a colored florentine in a lilac or purple to my collection...a purple satchel or hobo is my Dooney unicorn bag. I've seen some city barlows, but they aren't feasible to my situation. Well enough about me, but I just want to say THANKS for sharing your LOVE & PASSION for Dooney and Bourke. Thanks for doing this comparison P. I suspected the strap issue but you confirmed it. That Large Hattie is certainly a big baby but that color is gorgeous! I’d still like to try on the next size down. Very curious to check it out although I’m still a Buckley fan. And honestly, why does the dislike button even exist? Good grief! 🙄

Also in my video I mentioned that about the strap on the Hattie as well. It doesn't stay on that well. Especially when I'm wearing a nylon type coat. But I still love it. I'll wear it with leather coats or bare skin.

I just stumbled onto this older video since I am looking to get the Buckley in black and natural. It's on clearance thru the outlets at a price I can't pass up. I can't imagine someone giving a thumbs down to any of your videos since they are so helpful. I like both bags, but I think I like the look of the Buckley, but the drawstring of the Hattie is likely more user friendly. Don't let negative people get you down, especially if you don't know them personally. Since we are in a world of imperfect people..some more than others, we are bound to run across some negativity at times.

Great comparison PTB! Those bags are sumptuous and beautiful. I always thought the Buckley was big so it is good to see it next to the largest Hattie. Both are TKOs. Your friend sounds cool that he can figure out likes and dislikes. I confess, it does hurt my feelings when I get dislikes. I’m going to follow your lead and rise above it. I’m sure people must be hitting the dislike button by accident for you because your videos are awesome anyway! Thank you for your handbag videos. I find them very useful in helping me to decide on a purchase. Especially your mod shots and the way you explain the cons as well as the pros. It makes me feel good to see such a sophisticated lady like yourself sharing the enjoyment of dooneys as I do.

Wonderful video, I love both bags and would love to get a buckley, I haven't found one yet. People are just crazy like that. They are sad and have nothing else to do but have a lot of negativity for everything and probably everybody.

I purchased the crimson Buckley a few years ago and I absolutely love it. I was contemplating buying the Hattie in blue but looking at the comparison I decided to stick with Buckley... I just purchased two more Buckley’s in black and natural.

Those really are some huge bags. I unfortunately am being forced to look out for the size of my bags because the larger ones do not fit in my locker at work. I am carrying the Brenna bag right now and the bottom smooth leather is getting all marked up. It is killing me.

Besides, you don’t have to help others out by comparing bags and highlighting rare colors. You are very generous for doing what you do.♥️ I wish the Buckley had the thick shoulder strap like the Hattie. It’s not a deal breaker though.

Thanks for that. I’ve been looking at both of these except I’m afraid of that Florentine leather because I live in South Florida and it rains a lot here. I recently saw a smooth leather draw string bucket bag on QVC which looks more like the Hattie but has a tassel drawstring. Most of my bags are pebble leather but I did order a small Florentine wallet clutch in black black for going out on the town only. I needed a small bag for that purpose. It’s on the way. I just remembered I have a tan Tuscany saddle bag that’s Florentine. I actually forgot about it because it scratches. I saw a video you did on how you care for your bags. I need to purchase that Apple product and wipe and buff my bags so they can stay in excellent condition. Again thanks.

The problem with the 2 bags is I like them both, I am not sure which one I would like to add. I think I will start browsing both and hopefully a color will pop out. I don’t know how long I have been following, I just tend to revisit some of the older videos to see and compare... it isn’t easy to choose!

Now that I've had my LG Hattie for sometime, the trap doesn't fall off my shoulder as much. Maybe the leather molded to my body. It was just too stiff at first. Have you noticed any changes?

Hey girlie! I’m at it again lol! I ordered a natural Buckley today. Wonderful price. I had a marine Buckley before and even though I liked the bag.. the color marine just didn’t do it for me so I sold it. But always regretted not having the bag itself lol! I sound crazy.. but I’m giving it another try.

Frankly, torn, on the fence! I like the look of BOTH beautiful bags! I do understand the strap issue on the Hattie! In spite of the strap being wider, it's 'wonky,' should rest evenly on your shoulder! I prefer crossbody bags.

I do have a question on the Hattie, do you have a problem with the clip? I was reading some reviews online a few people said that they have had a problem with the clip coming loose and the bag dropping.
