M Machine are decent but yet again pricey I will say heritage panels are with it I’ve bought patten panel and than ended up not using them and buying heritage the car shows you can pick up some panels cheaper or used on the groups on Facebook
You did right not filming the floor stuff, don't worry about it. You've done a top quality job on this car, I never thought it was a lost cause but I did think it would be a headache to complete. I'm all for James getting his Maxi, that would be a very interesting set of videos, a roadtrip in the Maxi and the brick would be very entertaining.
I just needed to crack on and didn’t want to document it twice basically. Thanks for understanding mate. I am so Happy with this little car she will now live again and we will be sure to get her back on the channel as soon as we can. The maxi is definitely a project for the future. We have so many plays.
@@SimpsonsClassics That's it in a nutshell, if anyone wants to see an in depth rebuild of a Mini shell then go watch the Budget Clubman series. You know what I thought of the Clubman so that says it all.
It’s something I learnt through doing a few sets it does make sense when your hanging the doors etc. Either way works but this definitely helps I think.
Great to see your skills grace the big screen again Marc. Top work as always. Love the MINI content and your attention to detail. An epic save on what was crusher material at one point. Brilliant mate, cap doffed. Hope we get to see the final product once fully restored.
Thanks Darren for following this build. It’s nice to see that she will now return to the road to fight another day. Don’t worry I plan to try and bring her back to the channel once she is all painted 👍
🤦♂️ the metal is thinner and more difficult to weld to 😂your not an MPI fan I need to unsubscribe 😂 it's mad I've seen what you mean with them .. I'm trying to save the scuttle but my thumb dinted beside the wipers . Thanks for the videos mate .. and Pete mate came up trumps this weekend
Where the front of the door kicks in against the A-panel, you mentioned just an adjustment on the door hinge? I’ve got the same and is it as simple as pulling the door out slightly with enough play in the hinge holes?
Hi yes so I sorted this by holding the bottom of the door out as I tighten down the bolts for the hinge. It now sits flush, I have seen other people make the holes slightly bigger for the hinges on the a post this also helps. But normally it’s the just a case of seating the door probably. 👍
Hi Marc, In your opinion is is ok to take the whole door off the car leaving all the handles, door card and glass in it? I will be removing them after but due to where my mini is stored it would be easier if I could take off the whole doors first. I don't see why I couldn't just once I am careful but haven't found 1 video on youtube where people have left the glass in the door when removing. PS. Your videos have been so helpful to me as I am completely new to welding and working on cars and bought myself a beat up mini to learn! Hoping with the help of your videos I will have it on the road in Ireland this summer!
Hey firstly thanks for watching and supporting the channel. On this car I left the door glass in to do the skin as it’s easier to do this with weight in the door frame. Obviously strip the door free of the handles etc ready for paint. But it’s all easy enough if you need an help let me know and we can cover it in future videos. Cheers.
