I had a customer today say I didn't drop off a delivery. I called support before filling up the dispute to ask if there was a way to upload my dashcam and cellphone video and they said no. I asked if I upload a video to RU-vid and leave a link for the dispute box to view. She said "No, that's not how we do things here, just follow the steps" I'm still confused why that's a problem
I'm in a tough time too right now. But I picked up a side gig with DD instead of stealing. No excuse for that. Those violations can take away our opportunity to support our families
During the pandemic this happened to me 3 times. All in 2020. I think it was people on Reddit telling people how to get "free food" so annoying. I was so stressed about it because during 2020 DoorDash was my source of income, and if the liars and scammers took me out my work, I would lose my income. Crazy how people will do anything to get for "free" at the expense of someone's living.
My friends mon refuse's to pay for trash service. For yrs shes taken her trash and thrown it into dumpsters at highschools and gas stations. Yet she feels she is some spiritual awakened being. And yet it's her throwing away garbage at the expense of others.
Unfortunately this is way too accurate 😂 I took a break from DD for a few years to focus more on Uber Eats and I think Uber treats their drivers better than DD.
Kudos for having video evidence! (Knock on wood) I never had a contract violation for undelivered food but if I did, I'll have time-stamped photos and messages as evidence. Whenever an order is marked "hand to me" but the customer notes "leave at door", DoorDash will not pull-up the option to take a photo. In that case, I always take a time-stamped photo and message it to the customer. Now, if it's a "hand to me" and the customer is present, I message "your food was handed to you" to protect myself in case the customer reports. Either customers never reported undelivered food or they did, and DD sees my evidence. If I ever get a CV for missing food, I'll go ahead and start video recording all drop-offs.
I noticed when you send the customer a text message - there is a camera icon to take a photo. I now use this on my hand to me orders. I start with a text message - here with your delivery, hit send. Then take a photo if they want me to leave at door. If they meet me in person - before I get out of my car -send text message - here with your delivery. Before fully hand over all food, I politely say "I just need to take a photo of the delivery." Take the photo from the text message screen with food in their hands and hit send. At first it was a bit awkward but not anymore since I've done it so many times. Lately Doordash has been waiving quite a few of my low ratings and I have a hunch using this method has helped me escape some scammy contract violations.

@teesulli833 I do the same...if it's a hand to me order I always ask the customer to take a picture before I give the order...sorry not sorry..you won't lie on me about not getting food...I know it probably makes some of them uncomfortable but I gotta make sure I'm covered before anything else.
Im pissed. I just started here in Orange County CA and got my first rich scumbag. 100% certain I was at the right address (bigass house) and now I have 2 contract violations for their double order of crumble cookies and habit burger, since they say it wasn't delivered. I took a photo of their order. Such bullshit.
I had a customer that was unhappy with his substitution despite not answering his phone or replying to my many messages at the merchant. He just reported the order as never been delivered. So I got a contract violation. I have a five-star rating and 100% completion rate and almost 7,000 deliveries. Total BS.

Mad respect for your measured response to a scammer. These scumbags (my words) can get anyone of us fired. Here in NY, prior to the app forcing you to take a pic, scammers were at least once a day. Around 2019 it was non stop. I once had a "hand to customer" order sort of near the hood - went to the door, rang the bell, knocked...saw the 2 "kids" peeping out the window from behind the curtains refusing to come to the door. I then called them, they literally were in the house telling me they don't see me. Lol. Then I finally had enough, left the order there, marked as delivered...drove off. They call me 2 minutes later telling me how they are enjoying their free food.
Its ridiculous that you have to prove it. They know where you are. What I'm confused about is the violations.Do not show who or where you are being accused.How is it showing you the information
Kudos for trying to keep things positive. Sometimes you have to call it like it is though: Customers who scam are scum. Good on you for prioritizing your mental health. That's a lesson for all of us. 👍🏽
It's a shame that the "default" action is to give a contract violation, and to only remove it after investigation. As good of a worker that you've been for DoorDash, the first step should be them just contacting you and trying and get more information. They should realize that great Dashers aren't going to deviate from their near-perfect metrics (and risk their jobs) for just $20 of food. Thankfully, the great customers FAR outweigh the scumbags. The best part of my trips are the drop-offs, because 99% of the time when the customer sees me (hand off or as I'm walking away), they always say thank you and are very appreciative.
This is why no matter if it hand it to me or leave at the door I always take 2 pics one showing the location from the street especially with the number. Then one where I left the food. I do this even when the person comes out and when the person does come out when it says leave at door I try to make sure a hand or some part of their body comes out to prove they took it.
I had a situation where I dropped off an order to someone in their office, they were MIA and the customers name was on his desk. I dropped it off, take photos of the food on the desk. As I leave, the customer texts me and says “I never ordered this food” I contacted DoorDash with my photos and they immediately removed my contract violation
It suck DD takes customer's claim so easily and punishes dasher. We should be able to rate customers like Uber... I got scammer CV just the other day hopefully my dispute will clear it 🤞 what makes it worse it was $3 no tip order 🤮
it should get resolved, and they will be removed from the system just as they allow dashers to steal food a few times before they deactivate them. it is what it is

Good luck on getting your violation taken off. If they do take your violation off please let me know please let us know. I got a violation one time and I didn't even pick up the food I called customer service and told them that the restaurant didn't have the order and the customer service lady marked as delivered. I disputed it and they said well don't worry after 100 deliveries it'll go away

I have done door dash for 2 weeks now i have 100% on everything and yesterday night a guy said I didn’t delivery to him when I actually did! I wasn’t recording or took a picture it was a hand it to me order! I always take a photo in the messages even if they do not answer the door. I’m not going to just leave the order at door . Always a photo in the text with customer.
And another thing, don’t let anyone stop you from making your money! I have those days to as a dasher where I’m just not feeling it but PUSH THROUGH! ❤
Yeah it's hard times as the cost of living has gone up. I see lot's of people tellling me they were scammed by the dd driver. I been dashing 4 days now and there is a lot to learn but one middle eastern lady told me that her stuff was stolen prior before I ran her a burrito, and I said to her that her apartment complex has camera's pointing down at the main entrance of the complex. As I told her that she said ''She will talk to the management team"" that has access to that. LoL as she has lived there for yrs and I had to point that out to her. The other day I was in a wealthy neighborhood and some lard ass lady told me the DD driver stole her goods after he dropped them off to her front door steps lol. Maybe door dash will offer discounts on body cams!!!
Had this happen last night at an apartment complex with no numbers at 11pm. Messaged the lady saying I’m not seeing any marking and then left the order at the community center with a picture after she didn’t respond. She replied saying “I found my food but reported you for not leaving it at my door” and now I have a not delivered violation.
Same thing happen to me yesterday except for I got a message from the guy saying at a apartment building but I eventually found it and he was outside and went back in . I just dropped it off at his apartment door and continued on . Next morning woke up with violation but I realize ppl who does the order haven’t arrive normally tip low and get slow as busy fast food places like Taco Bell or Popeyes. I only accept it bc it was a double order.
I would be totally upset about it. I guess I need to start taking pictures of everything when I dash. I would definitely be going after the customer with DoorDash support. Question, how can we keep it from happening to us? What can we do to be able to prove it?
Have pictures or recordings, a dash cam could be a solution. Save the recording on a weekly basis on an external drive, then over write it each week so you don't have a massive library of all the orders
I just got a contract violation today, for the same thing. Customer lied, first time in 6 years of driving a customer stoopped that low. That's why I try to take pics of every drop off, even the "Hand To Me" ones.

People are scum. Dude, don't go back on that every single day that I go out, somebody says they didn't get their food every single day and they all get their food every time. How do I figure out who they are like? How do I figure out the person that said they didn't get their order
I had that happen right after I dropped off my order it was leave at door where you take a picture. I explained to door dash i took a picture through the app. Today I won the appeal.
They tried to do that to me when I did the appeal it was not delivered I told them I have dashcam videos of every delivery and I checked back it said that the delivery was extremely late when it was not. The Wendy’s they ordered from took forever and the customer didn’t include the building number and there was 15 different buildings so yes I went to each one if you want your order included all information and answer your phone
To avoid people saying that they don’t receive. I take a ton of pictures in the customer chat especially when I deliver to high schools. A lot of kids take each other’s lunch’s so I also write in red marker the students name and take pictures of the signs saying the school isn’t responsible. Make sure a close up of the bags with the name then a bigger picture with a ton of recognizable back ground. I also always take the apartment number showing in the delivery picture I’ve had some say wrong apartment but if the apartment number showing hard to say wrong apartment.

I just started about 3 weeks ago. Either my first or second day of delivery I just got a customer said I didn’t deliver the order from 3 weeks ago. Seriously . I did think I took the picture I was still trying to learn the app since it was like my second or third delivery. People try to take advantage of you.
This is why I never did delivery for Uber, DD, or whatever else. One, you make next to nothing and two, the system is rigged in a way that it encourages people to lie. I did both Uber and Lyft and I can say Lyft is the shader company. They will actually encourage you to break the law. But hey, if not for the exploitative world of gig work, I would have never gotten a good job. I used Uber to network and get my resume out there.

As a doordash Delivery Driver, how can people cover themselves if they make deliveries for examples below? I am not a dasher, but want to be prepared. But maybe video delivering every orders, and having an sd card with generous data might be the answer. 1. To deliver to the customer, the note might say leave it at the door or not. But if someone pops up out of nowhere to request the food, do you only ask the correct address information, before you deliiver it to someone that might not be the correct customer? What other questions, might be good to ask before releasing the food? 2. Timestamp Photos or Video Recordings? Is there a limit, to how much video footage is required if a complaint is used? Taking multiple timestamp photos might be good, for handing food to the customer, but not sure if that would make the customer uncomfortable. 3. Body Cam Footage? Maybe getting a body cam footage is good to have, as I don't know if it shows the time and address like the timestamp app
Lol yeah people are dumb. I had big Walgreen order. Customer claims didn't get their order. I had scanned their ID and they signed for it. I told dd support that I scanned their iD and they signed for it also told they can check the GPS.
I had this happen to me several months ago. The lady’s daughter came down and met me. I actually called her because I couldn’t find her place. I was really annoyed. Now I take a pic of me handing them a bag
That's such bro. It happened a lot in CA as I told my wife all the time to take a picture at all costs no matter how the customer looks. I drive at the same market as your so I noticed the amount of excellent order had dropped significantly, maybe people have to pay rent and bill in the early months. I feel your rage as doing the job right but someone claim you to not doing it correctly, it made my blood boil too when someone did that. It happened to me last week. The customer put in the wrong address. Then changed it while I was delivering it doordash never sent notification. Meanwhile GPS took me to address previous address. I screenshot every delivery. Sent the photo evidence of the drop off and screenshot of address. But I still got punished with a contract violation for doordashs failure to notify me. I was even nice enough to pick up order from previous drop site and bring it to them. Basically, the customer put the wrong unit number. So yes I was a bit salty after that ! I feel your disappointed

Yeah you've been done wrong. Lots of people are just losers. My doordash car had about $8000 in damages from a uninsured drunk who hit me in the parking lot and my insurance won't cover it. Totally fair. Life can give you lemons!
Been watching you for awhile and You might be on to something.. I’m at 54 percent acceptance rate and I’m going to make it my goal to get top dasher for next month. I avg 20-23 and hour right now which is cool for part time cash flow but it would be nice to see the type of ordered you see.

In order to get high paying orders, can we not cherry pick anymore? I got too dasher this month and as soon as I started cherry picking and my acceptance rate went below 50%, I no longer have been getting high paying orders.
That's correct. The no tip low pay orders are reserved for the low AR dashers. They constantly complained about it so doordash stuck it to them only giving them low earnings. Raise your AR = raise your earnings
I got a violation for food not delivered last night to an older lady. I handed her, her a and w meal. And she reported me for not delivered. I am still able to dash right now. But i dont know what's going to happen.

I use the timestamp camera app and take pictures of addresses as well as the door on each delivery - the app adds the gps location and a timestamp on it.
I guess setting his house on fire would teach him respect, or some crazy delivery guy might slash his tires if he has any. Lesson to customers, don't cross people you don't know or can't hide from.

Hey Rich. I've only had 1 CV in my 3 years of gig work. It was a to a high school where a student did not meet me as stated. It was a hand to me but left in the admin office, i did not follow the steps to wait. When i received the CV i let DD know what i did and that it was a high school. The CV was removed within a few hours. I see you're working on your mindset, although you pretty much got out all the trash talk anyway lol. Nevertheless good to see.
