Awesome tip on the Flounder! When it comes to direction, my wife thinks what ever way she is facing is North. To get her to understand “port and starboard “ is by explaining that “Port is a fine red wine that is always stowed on the left side of the boat”. She completely understands now.

Ian, I am from Maryland but have alway used the recipe on side of the Old Bay container to make crabcakes (with a few ingredient substituitions). I usually mix all of the wet and dry ingredients without the crabmeat first then fold in the lump crab eat last carefully to keep the lump of crab together as much as possible. I always see the OLD BAY crab cake mix in store , so I might give it a try next time. Great videos, Bob

Your Mother wanted to use her own fork so she helped herself. If you catch another flounder and prepare it the same way, stick the toothpicks down further into to the meat and close it up with cooking string, just like threading a shoe lace. Looks yummy!!!!!

St Augustine is my favorite place in Florida. I live in Daytona. I grew up in Wrightsville Beach NC. We stayed on the ICW shrimpin and gigging flounder clammin and oysterin. Blue crabbin. I love being on the water harvesting fresh salt water products. 🦀🦐🐟🦪

I've always used a beer cap to scale my fish. Drink the beer while I fish and use the cap to scale my catch.

That's how we got our flounder. Our SC water in our creeks wasn't clear like your water. Somewhere I have footage of my uncle cleaning one of our big flounders. He C clamped the tail down on a sheet of plywood (on saw horses), got up on the plywood and scaled it with a hoe.

Handy tip if you like it. Scale fish submerged in a bucket of water. It stops the spread of scales over your benvh. Just easyier clean up

This video brings back memories when I was a kid here in tampa when our uncle who made his own cast nets would take us out in the bay. Us kids would catch blue crabs with dip nets while he would catch mullet with his cast net. We would have a feast that evening then make homemade ice cream and watch home movies on a projector. I don't think they even had sound lol. Great times. Thanks for taking back in time😁😁
