When we went to look for doors we couldn't believe how expensive they were and we had a hard time finding what we liked. We decided to build them ourselves.
Surprised you would glue up the center boards and not let them “float”. That would allow for shrinkage during drying. Solid doors, good progress. Nice to see all the family helping as well. Thanks for the video
Your projects look terrific, looking back on a couple shows several years, my your children sure have grown they have many memories from their parents along the way. A classroom can’t teach a child these valuable lessons. I appreciate your willingness to share your wood working ability’s.I will continue to watch your adventures, Good luck and keep the content coming.
I like watching your videos you build like in the real world ,you don't wear so much protective gear that you can't move , was in the framing business for 40 years never wore all that gear have all 10 fingers .😂
nice to see another posting of your build. Really beginning to look forward to them! The doors look great, and they must be heavy! They look great! The stain or whatever will be a real eye catcher! Great job! Thanks for the post!
I have a Ridgid Table Saw similar to the one you have. It is a very good saw!! The doors look good! Y'all Take Care & Stay Safe. ~ Carl & Judy Lamar County, ALABAMA. ~
Your first time? Wow they are really good! I’ve built a few also. Did all the doors in my old shop, I made 6, 2 of them double Dutch doors, uffda what a learning experience! Nice work sir
I would not have glued the doors as you did but to each his own, now sand, sand and sand then you may try tongue oil I found it's great for wood. Your doors look great.
that's a great job for you're first time, take it from an experienced carpenter, you guy did amazing, and doors can be very difficult for many people god bless
While I watch those doors get built by a man who knows how to do it right I've been wondering where did he get all that skill in the past. Not to be nosey, I think you might one day give a little bit of your working life. How did you start learning etc. Do I detect some time in the Military? Am I being rude?....I certainly don't mean to. I'm just a nosey Aussie.
I like the idea. I would suggest gluing up the center panel between the rails and styles, but allow the panel to float between the rails and styles for seasonal weather changes.
I like the doors! They have character. They aren't bland. The blue pine is great! I do recommend, as others have, that you let the center boards 'float. I have seen examples of panels that blew out the joints on the doors. Some small cracks. Some pretty bad. They are very beautiful though and I sincerely hope that you DON'T have a problem with them.
I'll help you hope because they are beautiful. Just watched you hang and put door handle and locks on your exterior door! I like the idea of the wood pegs and it is SO great to see your place buttoned up against bad weather. Blessings on you and your family and friends and any livestock you might have wandering around the house and yard. PLEASE stay healthy!
I worked in a woodworking company for 10 years and when you’re doing those doors and put those clamps on, it’s better if you can put clamps underneath the door as well that’ll help control and keep it from cupping.
Like your wood Work First time would never know it , Craft is in Your Blood , Your Children Are Great workers I know are Proud of Them ,It's been a While Do still enjoy Your Video 🤩😀...
Love those doors . they are just beautiful! I wish your videos were longer. Im no expert but maybe if you took your camera with you on your building etc and just had music and voice over it might be easier. I appreciate that you have a busy life there with the animals and building etc. I can only imagine. I LOVE THAT THE WHOLE FAMILY WORKS TOGETHER BUILDING AND DOING WHAT EVER IS NEEDED. EVEN WHEN YOU FIRST MOVED TO THE RNCH HPW HARD IT WAS FOR ALL OF YOU CLEARING THE LAND ON A SHOE BUGET ETC i seen you all take your rolls and work together. God Bless you all sending much love from Australia
I enjoy watching your family help. Wow would it be incredible if you had a second saw for all of those tenons. Love gorilla glue. It holds everything. Wish I could be there to help!
Personnel I would like to say I love your music and she play in your videos and I think those doors looks super and don’t let nobody tell you they don’t I am 74 years old and I know better like I said they look great
Tenons on door rails really should be all the way through the stiles and wedged. Proper mortice and tenon would be stronger. The doors look great though.
Stiles are the vertical parts of door frame, rails at top and bottom are horizontal. Tenons on rails should go all the way through the stiles and then wedged, hard to explain but google pictures of haunched mortice and tenon joints and all will become clear. All the best
Awesome! I love watching purple make their own doors... they aren't that hard to do, last longer and wear better! Why do doors always look so skinny until they are hung?? Lol. Smiles and blessings...
You are quite the craftsman, Sir. Beautiful work! I so enjoy watching you teach your children skills that will serve them for life. I hope they internalize and appreciate what you are reaching them.
Thank you Terrel & Mindee for the New video/Vlog👍😊❤️ Happy to see you all again including your little daughter..for I have not seen her in a while in some of your last videos. Keep safe everyone🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
