I noticed something interesting. When you activate a modifier run and try to go to the Rooms section, you will encounter a red sparkly wall blocking the entrance. This wall is similar to the large yellow sparkly wall that Curious Light has, which blocks the entrance to The Backdoor. It is possible that the third light created the modifiers and "maybe" blocked Curious Light from interfering with whatever plans it has.
I have more evidance about the 3rd light. In the dorr 60 secret room you see the painting of what we presume is curious light. Near the top left is a blue symbol representing guiding luight because of the symbol in the center of the crusifix patern. On the bottom left is a red symbol of the modyfires logo. It would not make sense if just a rand symbol was in a painting all about the lights. This also proves your theory about the 3rd light being evil as the top left of the painting is the most helpful and at the bottom left is the least helpful with curious light in the center. I am not sure if this is true but it is my theory.
Also, In the tower heroes event, The red Light (In the wiki It's the mischievous light) when the player opens the library, Instead of GL distracting figure, the red light alerts figure that the player opened the door. Maybe tower heroes was a part of the lore this entire time?
I think the three might also receive some lore later in the game, to indicate how the hotel was built and how were the monsters summoned into it in the first place. Maybe the Red Light had something to do it, you know?
Good hypothesis. When the rare shadow figure appears, the next room or the room you're currently in turns red as well. In modern horror media usually the rare events play significant role in the story, so this event might actually have relation to third light, unlike during the Seek chase.
I might believe that this red light can be modifers. Because this anger the entines gives your more rewards and he can also make them easy for less rewards. Idk just an idea
They are not lights, They are architects, you see in a painting there is guiding light, curious light, and the logo of the modifiers. This is the modifier light, she is the only light that can control everything. If you want the modifiers, guiding light wont help you. If you want guiding lights assistance you have to remove the modifiers.
You really used "Failed Exorcism" animation as proof, but somehow missed giant red barrier blocking Rooms when modifiers are on AND Red Light messages in Tower Heroes crossover?
Also the room 60 painting can show that each light has their own symbol, and guiding lights symbol is the moon…. When u use the crucifix in the hotel on an entity the center part of the crucifix is a moon so I think when (or if) the other 2 lights use a crucifix on an entity their symbol will appear too.
Well, with the addition of the Backdoor, we now know Curious Light has placed the levers and the potions to help the player, and the modifiers symbol is on the painting in room 60, so I think he's right, and that the red light is trying to prevent you from escaping the hotel.
I have a theory that the red lights symbol is a scratch mark. We already know that guiding light is represented with blue and a moon. And curious light is represented with yellow and starlight. And we know the misleading light (red light) is... Well. Red because of all that other stuff AND bc when trying to enter the rooms with modifiers... But the reason I think he is represented as a scratch/claw mark is because after room 50 there can appear a room with claw marks on the wall. And since we don't know an entities with visible claws I think this is misleading lights doing and that it's his symbol.
I have a very blurry memory of seeing the red light on the wiki. Me and my friend came up with this theory a long time ago. We think that the player will come close to killing Seek or Figure in floor 2, and this angers the red light.
The red light is on the wiki, because it appeared in the Tower Heroes crossover. This doesnt confirm anything as the TH crossover is not canon and the TH devs likely made the red light as an OC for the doors weekly challenge
i think the red light could also summon or live in Jack. when he appears in red rooms, everything becomes red, including the windows (the windows even stay red).
