A quick walk around of my Doosan SVM4100. I’ve been getting a lot of messages about it so thought I’d make a quick video. I’ll add some more details here later with build options and what comes standard. I did order mine thru Ellison Tech, which was a great experience.

I just bought one of these cause it was cute! Seriously though big bang for the buck on this, I'm super excited to get it up and running. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for sharing! Would love to see how the probing cycles work and running a basic job. I have been strongly considering getting that exact machine. Appreciate the time you took to share yours!

Nice man, that machine is bigger than I thought it would be for sure. If you are looking for ideas I’d love to see a part getting made so we can check out how to load a program, indicate in if necessary and see the thing run. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Hi Rusty We got our SVM4100 probably the same time you got yours. Also love it. We have the same exact set up, Saunders fixture with mighty bite style vises and Renishaw probe. Also use Fusion 360. I see that GUI has that same software issue with yours you have to double reset to get it to stay on. Do you get the error with yours its red codes on the screen with GUI picture? I had trouble getting past that but if you push the S2 button then go back to GUI it is normal again. We got the chip conveyer if you do get it make sure the clean out basket is installed correctly, or you can't remove it easily. The original basket didn't work no clearance with the conveyer lip in the way. I started using the USB port until I got the DATA Server connected love it. You just post process into a folder on your desktop screen or wherever you want then to drop it in the server folder and it's in the control folder. Hey, do you also have problem with the fusion probe cycle the first time you run it in machine it gives fault then reset the machine and restart and it magically works. The service guy says the Renishaw software might need to be re-installed. Anyway, I have used many different CNC machines in my 30+ career and I really enjoy the Doosan. I was a HAAS guy for many years but not anymore, I prefer Doosan. We bought Doosan NHP with 12 pallet loader and matrix magazine also and the massive Doosan DBM2540 with 90 degree head attachment. Getting ready to cut first job with it. Enjoyed the video

I haven’t gotten any errors, just having to hit edit and reset before going in to the GUI the first time.

How do you like it now? I have 2 DNM 4500 machines currently. I love them. The SVM is about 2500-3000 pounds less and a similar travel size. It from what I understand is definitely less rigid, however, I don't always need that.
@Rustynutsdesigns
@Rustynutsdesigns Год назад
Still really enjoying it. I don’t know that I’ll ever really need the rigidity of the DNM and for me this is more than enough. If I had to do it all over again I would still go for the SVM.

Thanks for the review! How hard is it to empty the chips without the conveyor? I am considering a 5100 and would like to hold off on the conveyor till a later date.

It’s not bad, I use some filter paper and pull it out and into a bin. Anything that’s leftover I use a shop vac and then put down more filter paper.

Did you get this under a garage door? Really want one for the garage but need it to clear 84” shipping height to get it under the door. I think it might be a few inches too tall. Thanks!
@Rustynutsdesigns
@Rustynutsdesigns Год назад
No way it will go under 84” door. I had mine raised to 108” but was told you could do 96” if they removed a few things when they brought it in.

@@andrewmiller7291 I think they have a DNM4000 too but not positive. I initially was looking at the DEM but for the price this was a no brainer.

@@Rustynutsdesigns They do have a DNM 4000 but it’s taller than the SVM I believe. I’d love to get my hands on an SVM or DNM when I get into an industrial shop, but for right now I have a garage to work with haha. I currently have a super mini mill and I was looking for a Doosan that will work in the garage next to the mini. I think for my situation, the DEM will work fine. How has your experience with doosan and the reliability/service been?

You'll want to contact Ellison Technologies or whomever sells DN Solutions in your area for pricing. I can say its cheaper than a Haas VF2SS that is equipped the same.

@@bradsimpson4899 sales contract obligations

@@budzab As a private owner of bought merchandise in the US, there is no such thing as a "contractual obligation" (other than payment) unless you are are 1) employee, 2)private contractor of the company you bought the merchandise from, 3) are receiving benefits from the company you bought the merchandise from (and in any of the 3 cases above a "nondisclosure" has to be spelled out in a contract). So unless Rusty is an employee of Doosan or the company that sold him the device, a contractor for either of those two, or is receiving benefits, there is no "sales contract obligation" (at least not in the US). If you have signed one in the past, feel free to say whatever you want, because the contract won't hold up.

@@bradsimpson4899 sorry, i was speaking about nondisclosure, english is not my first language. When you want to buy Doosan machine (or many other brands) you do sign a nondisclosure agreement about the price

If you go to the Doosan website, you can click on the SVM 4100 and it will give you the base price. You would have to contact your sales rep to price out options and such. I think the base price is just under $80,000 which, in my eyes is not terrible when comparing it to say a VF2SS.
