Let's look at how Doppler ultrasound works. First, we'll review the doppler effect and the concept of doppler shift. Using these concepts we'll explain the doppler equation. The doppler equation accounts for changing angles of ultrasound insonation or doppler angle. We will see how changing doppler angle changes the doppler shift and how errors in this angle are significant at higher doppler angles.

Not sure if the question banks are for you?
If you're here, you're likely studying for a radiology physics exam. I've spent the last few months collating past papers from multiple different countries selecting the most commonly asked questions. You'll be surprised how often questions repeat themselves!
The types of questions asked in FRCR, RANZCR AIT, ARRT, FC Rad Diag (SA), ABR qualifying Core Physics and MICR part 1 are surprisingly similar and the key concepts remain the same throughout. I've taken the most high-yield questions and answered them in video format so that I can take you through why certain answers are correct and others are not.
Happy studying,
Michael

Why is it that a 60⁰ angle emphasized so much vs 30⁰? Wouldnt 30⁰ angle give us 87% accuracy vs 50% with 60⁰ angle?

Your info is sooo helpful to me. So, if i change the angle on the machine, this means that im changing the angle byt the device is changjng the cosine of the angle i am changing, yes?

Thank you Doc for this series, it really help me to improve my knowledge in the ultrasuond area as a Junior Ultrasound specialist, even if my english is not Perfect (i’m from Italy) i can easly understand the ultra sound and physics concepts, and i appreciate the way and your passion in communicating, this channel is so underreated. I want to know if in the future you will add in depth analysis on the clinical aspect of ultrasound (such as cardio, obstetric gynecology ecc) sorry for my english and keep going Doc! Thank you

I’m so glad the videos are helpful! Greetings from South Africa. Don’t apologise for your English! My Italian is far worse, I can assure you 😂 perhaps I will cover more complex ultrasound in the future, but will be in a while..

Just for a note; I'm a biomedical engineering student and my professor has asked us to calculate flow velocity a few different times. Might be just my prof but either way it's great you touched on it👍🏻
