Truue! Supergiant found a way to explain for Zagreus. Back in Testing, people thought you would keep fighting Chronos and attempt to change his mind and that's how it drags out. But an incantation to end the game?! My guess, you'll study his Time powers enough to seal him in a time loop, to which he may not even be aware of. So, when you fight him, you're practically in a separate space in time.
Oh, Hera. I mean it's the age old problem, right? "We must be in the right, because we overthrew the previous regime, who were clearly in the wrong." I appreciate this game's take on Hera. In Greek mythology, it's easy to sympathize with her because of her awful husband, but she was nasty too. Taking out her wrath on Zeus's victims, and his offspring. Hera, the goddess of blaming the victim.
She takes it out on demigods because she can't do anything to Zeus. The one time she challenged him directly it ended up with her being dangled over a bottomless pit in chains.
I do pity Hera for marrying to Zeus, but she really does have temper tantrums herself. And I can see her doubling down if her decisions are challenged. Thought she'd have a say on the Echo matter, but ig Hera is void from the conversation!
I mean the story explanation is that Hera can’t punish Zeus directly because he’s a more powerful god than her. She can only punish him by proxy. But zooming out the macro explanation is that the Greeks attribute Hera’s wrath to divine punishment for infidelity. To put it simply, it’s her job to do this. She doesn’t punish Zeus because gods punish mortals, not other gods. Remember the Greek gods aren’t really paragons the way modern divinities are. They’re two important things to the Greeks: embodiments/explanations/enforcers for what’s true (since life is messy, contradictory, and often violent so are the gods) and that if you had nigh infinite power you’d be an impulsive asshole (gods aren’t mortals and thus mortals don’t really matter to them the way humans tend not to particularly care about animals unless they piss us off or we particularly like/need them). Remember mythologies aren’t concrete stories and gods aren’t characters we can always assign morality to in the same way we do with other stories. A testament to Hades is that Supergiant humanizes the gods as characters but never forgets that every god has their mean streak because life ain’t fair.

Wowow, Heroic Greater Evasion is a thing?!?! Ya, ig Hades literally told Cerberus to go crazy. Hinting he is returning back to his old self more and more. I'm ready for the angry eyebrows. Hestia boons seem to surprisingly tie itself together well! Considering how weeird her conditions are, such as common boons, upgrading to rare, and the jumps to heroic. It was my favorite Od dialogue from the Testing lol. Jason did such a great job as Od ^ Right, considering it may "end the game"? (why would you even want that in a roguelike?) But I'm very intrigued to see where it goes!
@@Hamstir4 For Greater Evasion, I'm fairly sure the only way you could get heroic rarity is if it were to get hit by Rare Crop/Bridal Glow (and being perfectly honest, I don't know if those boons can hit Greater Evasion or not). For the "end the game" scenario, I feel like many roguelikes having ends to their stories, heck Hades 1 had two endings (Persephone returning to the underworld and then the feast where they tell the Olympians (most of) the truth about the events). Then afterwards the game could still be played with the reasoning for Zag's continued escapes being to test the underworlds security. So, I'm just moreso curious as to how they'll end the story in a way that allows for continued runs.

This is why I HATE the greedy and selfish from Zeus, the jealousy and cruelty from Hera, and the falsehood from nasty Dionysus and the stupid Orphic Hymns. 2) Also, I HATE many animes that involve reincarnation because everything in anime that shows the story of reincarnation are NOT REAL, UNREALISTIC, and WEIRDO. Because I really HATE it when the stories say that there was a person who was once a man, died and was reincarnated as a woman and there was a person who was once a woman, died and was reincarnated as a man. For example, in Genesis of Aquarion, Sirius believes himself to be the reincarnation of Apollonius, but late in the series, it's revealed Sirius is really a reincarnation of Celiane, Apollonius' lover whose soul was reborn in two halves. Her other reincarnation is Sirius' younger sister, Silvia. Also, in Karakuridouji Ultimo, Rune Kodaira is the reincarnation of a princess called Lady Gekko. In his past life, he was Emperor Kotsutsubo's fiancée and Yamato's lover. That makes me DISGUSTED and HATE reincarnation. Anyway, if I was a Male God of Resurrection, I would bring back Melinoe and Zagreus to ensure that they were the children of Hades and Persephone as the Princess and Prince of the Underworld as the Goddess of Ghosts and God of Darkness. If Zagreus was reincarnated as Dionysus, I would find a way to kill Dionysus the alcohol fanatic, take his heart, and then bring Zagreus back to ensure that Zagreus was the son of Hades and Persephone as the Prince of the Underworld as God of Death, Hunting, and Darkness.
