Hi! Also in San Juan is the St. Regis resort (different direction from the airport). I have stayed there four times and written an article on my blog about my favorite tips and tricks at the St Regis in Puerto Rico here nickgray.net/st-regis-san-juan/
Dorado is a beautiful place to be, and the Ritz Carlton Reserve is just gorgeous. Adding to that is the fact that people in the island are so warm and friendly.
As a kid growing up in PR, back in the late 60s we used to drive around the hotel grounds. Back then there was no check point at the entrance. There was hardly any development then, just the slendid vegetation that made feel like you were in another world😊. As an adult, I stayed in a room like yours, Stll splendid. It is probably the most beautiful and heavenly hotel in PR. Quiet, no elevators, just peace.
Hi Nick! thank you for your wonderful virtual tour. Although I am Puerto Rican, I have never visited the new Ritz-Carlton. It is gorgeous and merits a stay! Thanks again, I hope you felt welcomed as is the Puerto Rican tradition of hospitality.
Great video. I spent my honeymoon there in 1984. I'm considering going back for my 40th anniversary in early May. I usually stay in Isabela but wouldn't mind a change. Thanks for the tour. A lot has changed 😊🌴🌴
Hi! Great video! I’d love to travel here to celebrate our wedding anniversary Aug 2! I came across your video while researching places to go. This place looks so relaxing! Thanks for sharing

Hello. I would love to come to this resort possibly in May or either in June of next year. What are the best suites, and other activities included in the resort? How was the hospitality in your experience overall ?
Hi Nick! There’s not many videos of this property so thanks for filming. You mentioned you like the St. Regis, would you recommend St. Regis over Dorado Beach? If so, why?
Very thorough video, thank you for sharing. Are you traveling around the island of Puerto Rico or just staying in Dorado? I prefer Rincon on the very western tip of the island with the Lighthouse and surfing but you piqued my interest in the area. Can you talk more about the beaches and water there? I saw a lot of rocks so I'm not sure how far out you can swim and is it possible to snorkel and see tropical fish, etc?
Thanks John! I've traveled around Puerto Rico a lot this year, but this trip was just to visit the Ritz-Carlton Reserve at Dorado Beach. It is NOT a good spot for snorkeling (the best snorkeling I found was out at Steps Beach in Rincon, on the other side of the island).

Hey Omar, yes I flew into SJU. The hotel will arrange a transfer if you want. But you can also easily get a taxi outside baggage claim (large white vans). I had a special situation myself and was able to take an Uber. However Uber pickups are NOT allowed directly at San Juan International airport. You must leave the airport in order to use Uber in Puerto Rico.
Oof, yes: very expensive. We actually paid a bit more per night (around $1100). We used a travel agent, or my friend Ramit did, and thanks to that, we were all able to get an awesome upgrade.
